  3. watches are making a comback i think but then i have a passion about watches, well mechanical ones at least! where are you situated? im in the larnaca area!

  4. The prices of a gen rolex and there ad service charges kills me everytime!!!!
  5. interesting points the price is ok for the movement as you say and bulk buying will also lower the purchase price yuki is trying to find a cheaper altenative than fitting a gen movement so for me i would be ok with this movement for a budget build my 6538 grail watch gen movement cost me almost 1500usd i can not afford to do other project so expensive so i would be happy for my other projects with a reliable movement gen or clone! this may be a lower price range eta as ETA do have a factory in china and can turn out lower priced etas.
  6. Hello there Kalispera!

i see you are from cyprus! its great to have forum members from cyprus too!

  7. we will have to see one in the flesh but at this price its ok for a budget build ,for a super franken best to find a gen tudor movement i never noticed the sticker look on the rotor tudor writing looks a bit deep to be a sticker? you could be right! still as i said it a good price for a budget build i have a 1970s gen 2783 eta that i was going to fit a yuki tudor rotor on! for my tudor nodate sub project but im not sure which way to go as i have the movement in my 5512 sub as i prefer slow beat none hacking movements in vintage subs!
  8. 149usd! plus shipping!not so expensive! perfect for my tudor project!
  9. Hi there check out yukiwatch there now have 2824-2 complete movements!
  10. Yukiwatch has now brandnew 2824-2 eta movements with tudor decorated rotor!check it out!
  11. HI Folks! Yukiwatch has just got in there movement adaptor kit everything you need to fit a eta movement in your gen/aftermarket cases this will be useful when you are building a vintage sub using an aftermarket case built for a gen rolex movement but can not afford or find a gen movement, the good thing here is you can upgrade to a gen movement later! check it out!
  12. I think that with some work it could make a super lookin watch mabe fitting an afermarket redial or mabe have that dial relumed the case looks good to me and at this price you got a good base! to start with i would have liked it to have a slow beat eta none hack movement! if fact the case is close looking to my 6538 franken but i want to see it in the flesh! the crown to me lookes acceptable i mean i would be very happy with it,
  13. My favorite from indiana jones raiders of the lost ark! "Marian Ravenwood (Karen Allen) to indiana jones "your not the man i knew ten years ago" indiana jones (Harrison Ford) to Marian Ravenwood "Its not the years honey, its the mileage!"!!!
  14. Geat write up! i had problems with my yuki dial the feet where too long but with a bit of a trim it was fixed!
  15. anyone got a spare 5,000?
  16. riveted bracelet doesent look too bad! the last rep riveted bracelet cost me 150usd plus 30usd shipping and you get a whole workin watch for under 200usd its a bargain! for parts alone or for a working watch! its certainly a better buy than these clone movement watches and for an extra 50$ you get a gen eta!
  17. Just an update folks! trustys also got the two milguass with riveted bracelet too! i prefer a metal bracelet so you can change between metal and nato depending on my mood!
  18. Thanks to everyone for replying to this topic! and for supplying your photos and links!
  19. My keeper has to be this! In 1970 i was 10 years old and remember going to the movies to see a double bill goldfinger and thunderball bond movies goldfinger was the film with the aston martin, the naken golden lady, and that hat! but my attention was on that scene when sean connery checks his watch with his lighter! even at ten i thought that bond was so cool! with that white tux and his rolex divers watch that rolex burt into my mind and for years after i was on a quest to find a bond watch after the internet i was checking out gen 6538s but prices were way out of my league, and i could not find a rep that even looks like this watch until i found yukiwatch who supplied me with all parts including a gen 1030 movement! the strap i got from corvus but it was not quite correct because back then they did not have steel strap keepers but had a fabric keeper so i modified the strap by removing the two steel keepers and making a fabric one from a spare strap! although you can not see this fabric keeper in the movie there is a publicity shot of sean taken at the time wearing the watch on a fabric keeper ! i also have the watch on a undersized strap as i think this suits the 38mm diameter watch better than the 20mm one but the watch in the movie looked untidy with the strap sliding around on the watch so i had some spacers made to fit each side of the watch to keep the strap central, so i could keep the understrapper look!
  20. These new trusty watches are nice and can make a nice project! i should make a list of the top 5 best looking factory reps! these milgauss,s are a very interesting model! and well priced too!
  21. i agree why should we stick to a format of (i have to make it as a gen ) lets make our watches the way we want to if we dont like something then change it! you couldent find the tool for taking out the tube? i will be going down to my friends shop to change my tube and crown on my redsub as i dont have much thread on it on 1/2 a turn only is all i get a factory fault im destroying a good watch to use the tube and crown! i just dont like the small crowns plus i have big fingers and cant get on with them! we alway change the crystals from the factory rep and make thick ones i hate that sometimes cheap thin sound that is found on some reps just making a new thick crystal makes all the difference and changes the feel of the watch! my 5512 has now a 6mm thick crystal and has a solid feel now!
