  1. What i said was i purchased a dial that the feet were 1mm off the dial has nothing to do with tudor it is a 5513 dial that was made for eta movement, your dial should not need the feet cutting , what i was meaning to say that there are some dials may not align up with the movement when buying parts from different sellers you can not be sure they will marry up . these kind of builds are trial and error having said that my flake sub has eta 2783 and fitted up the my gen spec mahand dial without cutting the feet sorry i should have made it more clear that the dial i cut the feet off was not the tudor and 2783 movement i was giving an example of what sometimes happens ! Good Luck with your build !!!!
  2. My first wholesale outlet insert was too big to fit in the bezel and was damaged slightly trying to fit it i ordered a second one from them and it fit perfect , super build you have there ! i too would love a date tudor sub ! Why dont you ask member JMB to engrave your back case he made a super job of it !
  3. No i did not cut the dial feet because the dial is made for the tudor snowflake and fits the eta movements 2824-2 and also fit the 2783 but having said that i purchased a dial that is made for eta movement and the feet are 1 minute off so i have to cut them !
  4. Sorry i just saw your post these are from puretime !
  5. the 6mm crown will not work and a cartel crown is too wide you will have to have it milled from the inside (stem side) to make it thinner i use gen crowns 703 type but best is the 702 but hard to find and expensive too!
  6. Oh and i almost forgot the trusty 1680 case will not fit a gen size dial which is 26mm we had to make a mod by making a thin stainless steel ring to seat the dial as the opening was also 26mm (meaning that the dial would fall through ) you can see the ring under the rehaunt in this shot ! but when viewing the watch face on it just looks like part of the rehaunt cartel cases are usualy made with 29mm dials
  7. This is my trusty 1680 into blue snowflake build ! my dial is a mahand from ebay and it fitted my 2783 , 2783 and 2784 the movements are identical apart from one part but i think that the 2784 is a higher beat , check out my blue snowflake build post this shot shows the insert i heated it up on a gas stove for short time this dulled down the shiny insert and gives a matt finish the other photo has the old insert that was replaced This is the super JMB engraving ! Good luck ! see my post for details here is a quick spec rundown 1680 trusty case eta 2783 yukiwatch tudor rotor JMB engraving on backcase clark crystal t-20 gen tube and crown 24-703 dial from mahand ebay seller insert wholesale outlets ebay rafflestime snowflake hands
  8. I purchased some old movements from ebay 2472 eta slow beat for my projects a pack of three 2 of them working great they were clean and oiled but received a full service i prefer used for vintage builds a plus is you know for sure that it is a swiss movement just write eta on ebay you should find 2846s or similar good luck !
  9. I have emailed puretime a week ago and no reply to pre-order whats going on ?
  10. Well let me see how my 5513 case will be finished its in shipping at the moment ! the crown guards i will shave by hand if required ,thanks for a great review i purchased a super eta 5513 dial from a rwg member and im looking forward to fitting this in the yuki case !!!
  11. Yes after looking at the photos of the gen you are right about the backcase i dident notice the laser etching i wonder why they did not fit a dome back cb like there 5513 case would have been better !!
  12. Wow ! thats a gen in my eyes ! congrats i am building a yuki 5513 but because its a low budget i will fit a eta 2472 even my low budget builds can excess 1000usd
  13. Nice Yuki case set but not much change im afraid from 1,000usd with the dial !
  14. Yes Please !!!! Not much chance of a gen dropping in my lap ! not in this lifetime !!!
  15. Wow ! a pan=am caset thats another of my grail watches here we go again yet another project my yuki 5513 is in transit ready for another build !!!!!
  16. All i can say is wow and i thought i had finished with projects for a while !! the problem with building this model was finding a pan=am engraved backcase ! I can not upload the yuki photos so check out yukiwatch !!!
  17. I have two 6538 yuki builds and in the post a 5513 strangely i do like my other cheaper cases
  18. Hi Crwilsn The bezel is held on with the hexagon shaped spring and the crystal is held on with a retainer ring , i would go for the yuki my first yuki with gen movement cost me 2500usd the tiger case only takes a 28mm dial gen size are 26mm and most aftermaket like raffles and helenarou are 29mm i have big crown builds with cases helenarou (a very well made case but needs modding ) two yuki cases one raffles time one cartel and the tiger what i like about the tiger is the thicker bezel but if getting a 29mm dial best is to get a case that fits this dial and then find a better bezel helenarou case cheaper that yuki but you have to replace the saphire crystal with a clark crystal helenarou can do for extra 20usd i think full engraving and for 44 usd has a very good brevet crown the helenarou bezel is brass chrome plated like a gen ,good luck !!!!
