  1. Walked into an AD for Breitling today and bought the rubber strap. Fitted it on my blue dial this evening and it wears pretty well. The new strap has a light 'industrial rubber' smell. The buckle is quite nicely finished. It has an interesting code on the underside of the keeper. Managed to view the white dial SFSO on bracelet. The gen dial is a bit beige/off-white in color. The staff were pretty helpful too. Some pics >>>
  2. This one came on the stock bracelet, although I like it, the caseback's thickness makes the watch a little unbalanced. After reading about forum members' advice on rubber straps, I swapped the bracelet with a plain silicon strap I had lying around in my watch drawer. Will be looking online for a genuine strap next week. It now sits better on my wrist. Thanks for reading!
  3. Congrats, wear it well. Its a nice one!
  4. Pam 005 on 7.5 inch wrist >>>
  5. Thanks for sharing, I will go and try this on one of my straps, using coarse sandpaper.
  6. Sunday's watch, Pam005 >>>>
  7. Congrats, when you are wearing it you will tend to look at it every few minutes, and it does attract a fair bit of public attention too! Wear it in good health!
  8. Very nice Patek! Its Friday over here in Asia, I'm wearing my trusty Asian SuperOcean, and for Saturday its my Pam 112 pvd. Pls excuse the pics!

Nice group shot! These are the models that I would like for my collection too, thanks for sharing!
  10. In my humble opinion, I view my Steelfish reps as a 'preview', I wear it for a couple of weeks, if it stays on my wrist for more than a week, I might contemplate acquiring the gen. When I visit ADs, I only have a couple of minutes to put on the watch without it being sized, look at the timepiece on my wrist, and decide whether to buy it or not. Owning reps is a way for me to actually make a decision, somehow or other. Although there are some gens that I can never afford, such as the Hublot BB, or the Pam 127 etc. It is still nice to have 'em handy and say "Oh, that's how it feels to wear a $10k watch". I'll buy that when I strike the lottery. Its the look I go for, not in any way trying to fool the general public that I can strap a $10k watch on my wrist. I learned about tinkering by opening my reps, and this forum and its members has been most helpful.
  11. Super work! Very nicely done. I like the lume.
  12. The dealer was kind enough to offer a movement exchange, imho I would have taken that offer. That said, a full watch service by your watchsmith is a pretty good idea as well, since he can look through everything which might have been missed out by the QC from the source. Reps do get up to mischief once in a while, its a fact we live with, so rest assured that all should be ok once you pick up your SFSO later. Remember to drop by and tell him to clear any dust on the dial or crystal when he is done with the service too! And ask for a water resistance test if you haven't done so. For my 2 SFSOs the bezel is adequate for me, not sure if the genuine dial would fit, I'm curious as well!
  13. Nice pics, makes me want to wear mine! Have you sorted out the movement issue with you seller?
  14. Nice pics of a nice watch. Always a great feeling to spend time with the kids with a fave watch on our wrists. Can't beat that!
  15. Yes, you will be able to feel a winding sensation, sort of like a 'scrunchy sound'. ETA movements please take it nice and normal, don't go too fast with the winding!
  16. Congrats on the SuperOcean, nice, hefty watch! Remember to wind the watch crown at normal speed, 80 turns should be able to power up the watch nicely. If it still stops, look for the seconds hand, has it stopped coincidently where the minute hand is at? Might be a hand mis-alignment.
  17. The watch that started my watch hobby was the Crazy Hours in electric blue dial and blue croc leather from FM. I saw the gen version at an AD and that was it. I could not afford it of course. That was 3 years ago. I found a good rep of that FM, and now I have about 15 reps, 2 swiss gens (Omega SMP, Tag Aquaracer), and quite a number of Seiko and Citizen tool watches.
  18. Nice one! Wear it proud and wear it well!
  19. Thank you sir! You are most helpful!
  20. I had mine for almost 2 years and it finally gave up on me. The crown thread was stripped and I can't lock the crown down anymore. It was a robust Radiomir to wear daily, which was also the reason why the crown threads went south. Winding every 2 days or so does have its downside. Changing straps was not as easy as the Luminors, tiny screws. I believe the newer versions might have resolved the crown issue, so go for it if you really like this model. It looks really nice on the wrist!
  21. Yes, no AR unfortunately on the Asian movement reps, and mineral glass too on both of my reps. I opened up to see the movement, and it was quite a well made Asian movement ticking inside. The material of the movement is the solid, sturdy, well-put together type, not the cheapo auto movements we normally find on $60 reps. I wear each of them on alternate days, and am now considering the white dial version as well. These 2 are my first Breitling reps that I'm 99% happy with. The UPO is a great looking watch too!
