  1. This is crazy...are you my twin brother by any chance? I'm glad to hear there are more like me out there...
  2. Pete, your your original thoughts weren't far off the mark, though. The JF caseset (bezel included) is the correct replication of the 001C model Jimmy owned and got it replicated from. Yes the bezel is also very close to pre-V bezel profile but it covers a very wide range of Pam models that followed, including pre-A, and many more contemporary series. I wouldn't single it out for a particular series. What isn't exactly 1:1 on Jimmy's case is the lugs, they only match closely C-F series manual Pams, but most of us know that by now so this isn't anything new. So to cut it short, JFu bezel has a wide range of application in across the range from pre-V to some later contemporaries like F-series. In rep world, when building the "ultimate" pre-V and selecting the best available parts for the case you're be likely to find is the older EL case with chunkier lugs and correct corner slope that came with his 000/005 Logos, matched with the JFu bezel. Also, 2nd gen OP6500/6502 EL that followed in '06) would provide the best and closest visual fit. 111J bezel is also great fit for pre-V, if not even better than the one from '06 EL OP6500/6502 case. The issue with said EL chunky case is that the bezel profile (B measurement Rolli is referring to in his post) is slightly higher and the slope is just a tad off for a pre-V. It's likely the 111J would fit that old chunky EL "Logo" case well, I haven't tried this yet but the bezel assembly construction looks almost identical between the two. That said, if you happen to have old EL Logo case, you should try softening the edges on the case and bottom bezel ring to make it closer to the 'real' pre-V case that used to have softer finish all round. That would also take the "edge" (no pun intended) from the bezel and make it appear a little thinner in profile.
  3. Would you have accused me of not telling the truth if I didn't ? Chill out...
  4. Many of us mentioned this already many, many times...I even replied directly to your post yesterday, Rolli. Basically the 005/318/219/177 from Hublot maker all come with the non-standard bezel construction, as shown on your B1 and B2 photos.
  5. Yes they did Rolli, exactly the same build unfortunately. They went with the easier design for the rep buyer masses, not expecting in their wildest dreams some of us may actually have a go at modding Standard shall I call it 'normal' gen and rep Pam cases come with a bezel that sits on a raised ring which is part of the case. These cases from Hublot maker come with a bezel that pushes inside the case like a cylinder. This bezel is both bezel and the rehaut in one. It appears to be friction fitted, i.e. without the usual bezel gasket. That's what I can decipher from looking at mine from few different angles with a magnifier. Pete, good comparo, indeed. It proves once again that gen is a gen...while both 111J and 219 cases are nice 'upgrade' to the standard rep cartel casesets from '06 until now, they still haven't lived up to the 1:1 hype, IMO. I'm glad the 111J came out as it caters for a great and wide range of models just fine, from pre-V to pre-A and up to F-series. Little bit of case work and final touches and you have a winner with the 111J case as a base. cheers, D
  6. It takes a lot more these days to get me excited P, for this I blame my age then everything else. 111J dial's top plate is by far the best sandwich dial plate made in rep form, IMO. I still can't believe people are ditching these in favor of LH dials. I built 3 watches with LH dials for members in the recent past and IMO they can't hold a candle to a 111J dial. Of course I mean top plate, bottom plate issues including poor lume are easy to fix these days anyway.
  7. Awesome strap match mate...do tell us more please, cheers!
  8. Hi, my off-the-cuff guess is that there will be many interested in those, especially to 'upgrade' their 005 and rumored incoming 000 and 26k reps which in their genuine form come with ETA6497-2 mov'ts with square bridges. Put me down for 2...or more, depending on your price.
  9. Wat mate I've read your post 3 times and still confused, though...
  10. Just to avoid possible confusion - that's a recent/current 312, Angus is working on a V2 PAM312 'super-rep'. cheers, b
  11. You gotta give it to Noob maker...their watches may not glow like a torch or have a decent A/R on the glass but some details they nailed to perfection. Their 111J makes a perfect modding base, it comes with 'good bones' so to speak.
  12. Nice to see you posting again, Hambie...
  13. Mate, with all due respect...the ones you listed above couldn't hold a candle to a 005, IMO. And yes - I'm a bit excited especially since there wasn't a well replicated 005 rep dial made so far, including dozens of variations of 000/005 from DSN
  14. Then it's likely we get the nicer ho-beat mov't from the Seagull factory...at least something
  15. Wow, it's been a while...welcome back! Great looking pre-A 004, as well!
  16. Very well thought out Pam collection, something for every occasion Enjoy them all! b
  17. Top stuff...I'm sure the final product will be jaw-dropping beautiful!
  18. But who said it was from Hublot maker? Let's hope whichever factory ends up rep-ing this one to come out with a decent sausage dial replication which should likely to be the first 1:1 replicated manual Pam sausage-dial ever. One thing's for sure - the low crossbars on 'A' are luckily a thing of the past, so not expecting to see them on new dials. Fingers crossed, mates...
  19. Still awaiting that long promised 1:1 Fiddy rep, as well as 026 PVD Destro. Both gens are owned by cartel dealers and curently undergoing replication...how long who knows, one of them promissed straight after Chinese NY but dealers really don't know that for sure. The stories of coming 'monster' 187 Sub rep are almost bordering on fantasy now...most of us got tired of months and months of promises.
  20. R, these two (111J and 177L) have been advertised by the dealers as such. For example all the recent chrono Daylights based on A7753 as well as the 111J were released by the Noob factory. Rad 288, destro 219L, 177L etc come from Hublot maker. There are many more models that came out recently, but you get the gist If unsure just flick a short email to Josh or Andrew for example.
  21. Mate, the old-school '05/'06 EL PAM000/005 that used to come with an incorrect 201/A pre-V CB (serial no 348) had the best case for pre-V project I've ever come across in the rep world. Helenarou also had this case on offer as spare part on eBay for a very short time during early '07. However, those are so far and few between these days that when I refer to EL case I refer to his later casesets, with slightly more elongated lugs than his 'original' 000/005 cases. So for any pre-V build the list in order of priority when it comes to cases would IMO be: - old EL PAM000/005 (pre-'07) - new & current 111J (with a slight lug re-shape and hex-to-round crown tube swap) - 'standard' EL and old-school case (pre-'08) - Jimmy Fu (rep of his own 001C) - old-school DSN case (pre-'08) - new cartel case (pre-'09) ...and then everything else which if you're serious about your Pam mods wouldn't even come under consideration. cheers! b
  22. You just had to do it, didn't ya...
  23. In general case fit and quality or pre-V case closeness, in particular? For pre-V build the closest would be 111J, followed by EL/old-cartel one. However, in general i'd rate them: JF, 111J, EL... in that order. That's how I feel about them anyway...others may disagree. DSN caseset isn't even close, sorry.
