  1. on the pics the case doesn't look better than a 98 US$ See Dweller from Josh
  2. I use myself the Chinese GMT movement DG3804B, 11,5 lines, 21600bph. Its a true settable 4th hand movement and very reliable. The 4th hand is not slow at all. Sold 26,60 US$ from Otto Frei http://www.ofrei.com/page1119.html Sounds like the GMT movements found in Explorer/gmt reps are the Asian 2813 with a 4th hand adapted like makers did with the eta2836-2, may be that's why the 4th hand fonction could have flaws
  3. polywatch is not the best product, its o.k when the plexi is slightly faded or with micro scratches, for serious scratches or to modify the shapes of a plexi or to give it a more "dome" rounded aspect sandpaper first (even dremel) then steelwhool 000 then FLITZ, and, at the end polywatch for the final touch just my 2 cents
  4. I use 1675 complete assembly from whoolesaloutlet and Clark cyclop 25-116. Everything works perfect, it needs light fitting, very easy to achieve. You should have your dials refinished, if you are in Europe I have a good professional shop adress in Paris if you are interested, the only problem, tritium is not allowed, they use luminova
  5. same for me... and its the same for other Rolex like fat and shinny Sub, SD, Daytona etc. about gmt plexi I would say "cheminee" rather than dome, dome have rounded tops like on the 1665 SD, the gmt plexi 25-116 has a medium high flat top with angular edges Prsist, all vintage gmt sold by dealers are complete vrong, based on Sub 5513 case and bezel and the dial is vrong also. The only positive is that you get for a reasonnable price an excellent riveted bracelet, a 'no bad" movement -Swiss or Asian- with the 4th hand complication and a good hand set to start a project. With this, you can buy a gmt case and a dial from Yukiwatch, Or buy a 1655 Explorer, an aftermarket gmt complete bezel assembly from ewatchparts/whoolesaloutlet and a Yukiwatch dial
  6. gen or rep, anyway, its a bling-bling watch for posers, as all modern Rolex, not a big deal to own that kind of stuff,
  7. I was not clear in my english, I wanted to say that Josh's 1655 has the crownguards side thicker than the opposite, may be its the fact of the CNC machining program as this case could be used for other purposes. Also this is visually disturbing as the 1655 fixed bezel has a smaller diameter as the gmt bezel The gen 1655 and 1675 used both the same case, the crownguard shape was slightly different depending batches, same for later Explorer II and GMT II cases
  8. Nanuq is right, For exemple on 1675 building with the Josh's 1655 case : the 25-116 from Clark is the more close from specs. Avoid those from OFrei, inside diameter is to small and the cyclop position is off. The 116 from Clark fits very well the 1655 wall but you need to remove - a lot - material from the outside bottom of the plexi to stack the bezel ring retainer. You need to play arround, the retaining ring doesn't be loose but not fitted to tight at the same time. If you fit to tight, the retaining ring could extend and/or be twisted (the stainless steel is tensile) and even 1/25 of a mm will prevent the 1675 bezel to turn free 2 new girls in my watch box, both are built with the Josh's 1655 as background
  9. equality, 1 point everywhere Dont be confused, the life is to short to care about forums pseudonyms or avatars Myself I am confused with males using girls pictures as avatars, Rolexaddict is because I have an addiction for vintage Rolex watches and goodies -vintage only- but i will change for RWG (Real Virtual Guy) .[censored]. only .[censored]. That's I see when I look down my podium . Just kidding. I see people who sink themselves in a glass of water, or don't stand back enough to assess an event
  10. I have seen the video. And ? thats just to impress teens, the most important for women are balls, not a sport car and a Rolex watch I am not really impressed by Paul Newman, just a movie actor, and to old now for car races performances, paid by the Rolex company to wear a Daytona, nor convicted by Mercedes sport cars, this is just for posers. I am retired now, and I have bought a bicycle
  11. As I said already here -I don't want to gererate a new polemic- here, in France we have 2 category of Rolex wearer. Modern shinny Rolex like fat and ugly DSSD, new ceramic line, Daytonas etc. are worn by... I will say posers. Especially those clothes merchands, they like everything shinny and they speak loud. For a lot of watch lowers, modern Rolex watches in France are synonymous of vulgarity Second category are vintage collectors making a business with this Personally, I like only vintage, no homage, I like the perfect replica with the Rolex name, I like them for the style and design. A few years ago I said I will never buy a gen. Now I am looking for a 5513 and a 1675. I have the money for this, just have to find the right 100% genuine stuff. But these Rolex vintage are also a myth, except the classic old Submariner which was used by divers, the "tool watch" concept is only marketing. The GMT for exemple, I fly as professional since 30 years -20 years on DC8 and 747- I never seen someone using a Rolex GMT in a flight desk... we have better watches and chronos as panel instruments Same for Daytona, Omega was chosen by the NASA, not Rolex. the reality is : Rolex vintage cosmographs are poser chronographs, just good in movies, not in the real life. But this being said, I like them better than Omega, its the design and the myth
  12. ? sorry, english is not my best, so its difficult for me to understand Are you a pilot ? I am. I am in aviation since 30 years, so I know what I talk about
  13. Have a look here : http://www.cresus.fr/montres/montre-occasion--sea_dweller_mark_iii_double_red,r2,p8903.html this is a shop at 5 minutes from my home, I handled this watch, no super dome, no blablabla about shawed crown guards, or -this and that- etc. use the 360
  14. not enough expensive, we need more $$$, and ?
  15. NDT = fake = over priced = scammers. Period. But it sounds like some are happy to be [censored] deep just kidding
  16. normally all Comex dials with 1000ft/300m printed have surrounded markers, I think - I could be vrong- this NDT on EBay is not a gen, but I am right if I say NDT sells 99,99% super over priced fake stuff
  17. not to create a polemic, but you suspect wholesaleoutlet990/watchbandman50/jewelryoutlet550 to sell junk, these parts are made to match with genuine watches not rep, and on a retaining plexi/bezel ring, 1/10 of a mm make a big diffrence
  18. I agree, At this level, I dont understand the Phong or other fake/[censored] sellers option. Stop with reps, buy gen stuff. Just kill the shitty Chinese dictature
  19. Found this morning on Time Zone, very instructive http://www.timezone.com/extras/200808025382
  20. looks like the first batch from Yuki last year. Could be vrong, could be a good one. But if I am right, these were horrible. Very bad prints. I have one which needed really to be refinished... cost me 300 euros for a perfect refinished fake... One guy in the factory which refinished it in France told me to never bring again such things , as he would refuse to do the job
  21. you are late, wake up Already done, Rolex 1675 specs bezel assembly and gen Cyclop 25-116
  22. the dial is not glued, it has 2 legs hold on the side by 2 screws. The same design like gen Rolex movements and almost the same feet position
