  1. I PM'ed silix in regards to the special edition PO with rubber strap and he said that his contact was working on it. He asked me if I had any decent links about the watch with pictures, serial numbers etc.... I sent him these links: http://www.delldeaton.com/Bond-21-blog.htm http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg...28273&rid=0 http://www.watchnet.com/forums/tradingpst/...mes;read=291756 http://www.uhrenhandel.de/store/product_in...roducts_id=3544 So I have a feeling we will see this watch soon. If you want to help out contact silix and send him some detailed photos. Cheers
  2. Cheers Oliver! Thats very kind of you, I feel this is the last piece of the 1665 puzzle
  3. Well the date overlay they sent was one for a modern Submariner , a scratched one too! Oh well, I contacted them about it maybe they will refund it for me. Still the inserts they sell are fantastic, but steer clear of the date discs I just spotted ubiquitous thread regarding his datewheel project.......... WOW, that's what I call a vintage datewheel, great stuff! http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=16311 It's a good time to be modding a vintage Rolex
  4. I would love to buy one of these datewheels please They look spot on, fantastic effort guys!
  5. I contacted the shop that sold me the insert and gave them a description of the date overlay I needed. I sent a picture too and mentioned it must be a clockwise date change. They replied they could get that part for me and that it would be $17 delvered! I will wait and see what they send before I get to carried away Rest assured I will post pictures regardless, as soon as it arrives Cheers
  6. Sorry the other dot is promised to a fellow member who is modding some of my watch collection, and doing a great job too I might add Check my topic regarding vintage inserts and you will find the ebay seller. I would suggest waiting for him to post another auction. Cheers
  7. Wow and I thought the $66 I paid for an aftermarket vintage insert and the $55 for two gen dots was pricey
  8. When I saw the insert with the gen dot, I was very pleased with the result to say the least I waited until I received the insert and was sure the dot fit OK before I posted the link. I did not want people to buy the inserts until I was sure they were the correct size and fit etc..... Now we have a good source for vintage inserts and we can buy gen dots, that is if he has any left Thanks for the tip on securing the insert, I will go with a glue that is not so strong I think
  9. Thanks for the info, I think I could do that without to many problems Great info indeed
  10. The insert clicked right into place, no glue. In fact so did the pearl, very firm fit I will add a tiny bit of glue though when I start wearing the watch I think, what would be the best type of glue to use? Could you post a link maybe please? I would be happier knowing that it had a bit of glue securing it
  11. Very good point. As un upgrade the insert font is better than the MBW version and the pearl that was in there was better. Sorry I did not take a picture of the pearl before I removed it. 66 bucks and the insert is better than the stock MBW version for sure. Cheers
  12. Yeah it's true, you will always be able to sell them All I need now is a bold date overlay, but I can't find one anywhere I have just had a message that my WLSD dial will be posted tomorrow! So close now.........
  13. The genuine dot that I got from ebay fits the insert perfectly. A nice solid fit. check out the photo Cheers
  14. I am just waiting on the dial now Oliver, as soon as I get it I will let you know Don't forget how far the pound goes against the dollar at the moment, it was cheap really. I thought I would share my search results so others may put together a very accurate insert for their pride and joy Saves buying a load of crap vintage inserts off the bay anyway Cheers
  15. Where, do you have a link please? And no bubble burst because the insert I have is spot on in terms of accuracy
  16. On ebay! There is a guy on ebay who sells them in pairs every so often I was lucky enough to click the buy it now before anyone else Quick quick someone!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NOS-Vintage-Rolex-Su...1QQcmdZViewItem Go go! buy buy
  17. Here is a picture after I added my gen dot, sorry for my lack of photo skills I am very happy with it. I am waiting on a white letter dial and then my watch is going to have the dial and crystal upgraded
  18. I found this insert here: http://www.pmwf.com/Watches/WATCHSALES04/W...orRolex1680.htm It cost me $66 delivered, but it looks great, and original vintage dots fit with no problem because it has a 2mm hole! The dot that came with it looked quite good to, but not like the original. Cheers
  19. Great looking watch I am also waiting for the Casino Royale version of this watch. Rubber strap, 007 on second hand and the Casino Royal case back and I will be there Nice watches as always Andrew
  20. Fantastic work as always The watch looks great, what an improvement May I ask where you got the bold date overlay? I can't locate them anywhere, ebay has drawn a blank
  21. I think Joshes may be different. Gioarmani your Submariner has a different case. On the left side of the watch your case is concaved in two places. I think Andrews does not have that type of case, it has a smooth curve. Cheers
  22. They are the same watches. The more expensive one has a service before being sent to you. Eta movements run pretty accurate most of the time anyway, but the service does include pressure testing I think so if that is important to you.... Either way you will love the watch
  23. I am thinking of getting a white letter dial to replace my DRSD one. Anyone out there wanting to do the opposite and change from a white letter dial to the DRSD? My DRSD dial has been modded by repaustria too! The hour markers have been expertly aged PM me or reply if you are interested in such a swap. Cheers
