  1. You mean it looks like this? Thanks for the good news Cheers!
  2. Ah I see, what if it were more of a blood red, than the standard "post box" red?
  3. Maybe a red tachymeter scale, and red chronograph hands, not black? Leaving the hour and minute hands as is
  4. Hey that looks really cool, I too would try to add a bit of red somewhere
  5. 100% V1 maker, hopefully with a V1 maker price Competition will help lower prices, unless this goes up at +$400 too
  6. Ah I see, strange way of doing it, but if it works OK
  7. Is there anyway you could secure it with tabs and screws? I would not like the idea that it is just loose inside the case like that After all, the small movements that the dial/movements would make while inside the case, would result in more particles moving around inside where they are not wanted, no? Cheers!
  8. Thank you very much! In terms of accuracy I think it is now very good, really the gears and blue screws make the biggest difference, in case I take it off my wrist to show somebody. I tend to admit it is a rep anyway
  9. Thanks guys, it was worth the effort I used a bracelet sizing tool to remove the pin, I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner
  10. You need to buy a sticky ball for opening/closing watch case backs, or you could try bunching up some tape on the case back Cheers!
  11. Looks good, nice strap too, thanks for sharing How is the dial and hour markers, all OK? The watch is running well I hope? Cheers!
  12. Here are some pictures of the adjusted crown pin It is strange, these seemingly small adjustments make a really big impact on the watch! I think the flared balance wheel issue will be left "as is" though, I have the spare parts, but no inclination to pay for that to be done. You can't see it when the watch is running anyway
  13. Thanks chaps! The gears and screws were sourced on RWG via whole movements (Asian), with FxrAndy supplying the blue screwed movement. So it's safe to say I have plenty of spare 6497 parts for this Swiss movement should it fail I have just removed the crown pin too, and replaced it the right way up, looks much better now
  14. Hehe, that is most certainly a flaw I can live with
  15. Nice one FxrAndy, and thanks for helping me out with the donor movement
  16. OK I have done a few upgrades I have a new soft suede leather strap, which I have darkened myself, it was a much lighter brown at first, and secondly, I have changed the crown gears for polished ones and replaced the blue screws too, the overall effect is fantastic! Here are some pictures, please click to expand: Please let me know your thoughts, I think the effort and expense was well worth it, compared to the original dull mat finish gears.... Cheers!
  17. Sweet, thanks for sharing! I have two watches that are getting the Chief AR treatment, I can't wait to see them finished!
  18. Just noticed a new Porsche Design watch over here: http://www.maldwatch.com/Replica-Porsche-D...-2824-7707.html Any comments? Is it accurate, I think for an Asian watch it looks expensive, at least from that website
  19. EU to EU there is no customs charging TAX, correct......
  20. Aww man, Parcelforce, don't get me started! 100% ParcelFarce if you ask me!
  21. Ah i see With luck the dust issue will be an isolated incident, at least the factory should know about it now thanks to your posts! Cheers!
  22. When I buy from the USA, I just ask that the "gift" box be ticked, and that the item be declared as a "watch" with a $30 value. So far that has always done the trick, as UK customs are not so bad anyway. Always used registered post too Best to keep it simple
  23. Great pictures as always, it looks a lot better now it has been nicely cleaned up In that first picture, you can kind of see the top of the number 5 hemorrhaging some lume? Or it could be a trick of the light? Cheers!
  24. Send out an email to every dealer you can think of, asking if they could sell you a V2 blacksteel bezel, if one replies yes, bite their hands off to get it! Then when it arrives, screw the screw from the spare bezel into yours, make sure you loctite the thread too! Good luck!
