  1. Good to see everyone is on the same page Soon we will have a firm answer, one way or the other, thanks to Francisco's efforts I hope there will be a solid movement at the end of this, but I believe my hope will be in vain.....
  2. I understand your frustration, I think we all want closure on this issue as soon as possible
  3. Bearing in mind that PT is not offering this watch for sale anywhere, I don't think he needs to do anything else, that job would be for the dealers are listing this watch for sale with the updated movement He is free to state his opinion, just like every other forum member can do. The fact that he has been told the movement is only installed in the latest Basel 2008 Daytona could very well be true, we will have to wait and see He is not stating that he knows this as a fact either, he is just sharing what info he has, don't jump on him for doing that
  4. I hope you are right PT, I so want you to be right
  5. If I had the parts all to hand and the service to install within reach, there would be nothing to stop me doing the very same thing! I would not go out of my way to get the parts etc, though....... Would be a keeper when finished that is for sure
  6. Hehe, never before will Joshua's customer service skills be watched by so many peeps regarding this issue, than right now.... I really hope it was a drop ship error and that you did get old stock, otherwise our hunt for the reliable modern Daytona continues.... If there is no updated Daytona, then he should offer a full refund..... Good luck!
  7. I think it looks great, enjoy! If you really want to "upgrade" the pearl, then buy a genuine insert, anything else would be a lateral move
  8. Maybe you should send it back and ask for one of these instead? http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...word=ROLDYT0052 It could be that the one you received is old stock, and the two new dial versions may have the updated movement? Or as we all think, it is most probably BS from the factories/dealers....
  9. Great stuff, thanks very much indeed! Not only should this be pinned, but emailed to all the dealers listing this "new" Daytona, as clearly it is BS on their part..... Thanks again Francisco, you have saved me wasting $250 or so..... Cheers!
  10. Never even seen or heard of UK customs opening stuff up, we are lucky our customs is fairly easy on imports.... Mainland EU is where you get bad customs (for our hobby), you should count yourself lucky!
  11. For straps you should check out HKTAN, he does custom stuff too, fantastic quality... http://photobucket.com/guestlogin?albumUrl...ums/d25/HKTAN1/ Password is hktan too.... Cheers!
  12. Yep, it all sounds perfectly normal Relax and take a deep breath, nobody is going to come knocking at your door.... Well aside from parcelforce in a few days
  13. Cool, I look forward to seeing some pictures!
  14. No you would need to buy the replica, and then find a rep friendly watchsmith to service it for you. Somebody who can strip it down and do a full service.... Have a search and I am sure you will find some answers, there is a tremendous amount of info on these boards Cheers!
  15. I have had many, many Asian 7750 watches, and all of them have run without any problems, even the 7750 based AP with seconds running at 12 is problem free for most people... The expense of the Swiss 7750 does not make sense when a serviced Asian 7750 has been proven to run just as well......
  16. Thanks for the pictures! I really think the yellow version is the best one to get I gave in and ordered this watch now, I have no will power
  17. Why get Swiss? The subdial position and running seconds are still wrong anyway.... May as well get an Asian 7750 AP and have it fully serviced, and I mean properly serviced. It will cost you less and still run just as well as a Swiss 7750.... Cheers!
  18. Indeed! If I remember correctly you have a few multi dial buys too, no? I should add that the blue dial is vaclumed, and glows real nice, although the V1 AR is not quite so effective, as you can see in the pictures....
  19. It is not an instant flick date change, but a rolling one. It is the way the movement is designed, be it Swiss or Asian..... It is also the reason you should never try to adjust the day/date when the hour hand is between 9-3, to be safe. Otherwise you could mess up the date change gears and break something! Cheers!
  20. My 7750's starts at about 10/10:30 and flicks over at 12, more or less.... My only watch with a day is my Porsche chrono, and that flicks over at between 2-3 AM, never really noticed when if first moves.... As long as the date switches near midnight and I wake up the next day with the right day/date I am happy
  21. Thanks guys I have a V2 Blacksteel, it is with a certain watch expert for the best treatment a watch can hope for, so is my V1 ti Seawolf I don't think I will multi buy any other watch though, it's just that the Skylands are that good!
  22. Please excuse my manly reflection in some of the photos!
  23. Here are a few wrist shots of my Skylands! I really love this replica, at first I was not so sure, but then I realized the error of my ways and purchased all the different dials and some nice straps to go with them The black dial is on a gen Breitling croc strap/deployant, the grey dial is on an gen croc strap (aftermarket) and the blue dial version is using the rep rubber strap.... Keep clicking to expand! It is nice to be able to choose the colour of the watch that you feel like wearing, on any particular day. Also is anybody else just bored with the SS bracelets? I really don't like wearing them any more Comments and observations welcome!
  24. Beautiful watch for sure Also, wombat247 you do not need to quote all the photos to reply
  25. That and the savings on refrigerators!
