  1. A Swiss 7750 would still have the same problem, as the transfer gears to move the subdial from the 12 position, to the 3 position get in the way of the date disk, there is no way around this physical problem
  2. I was in no way saying that you were, I believe you when you say you wrapped it up well, as it is in your best interests to do so The fact that "fragile" was placed on the parcel pretty much explains everything that has happened, just ask any ex postal worker and they will tell you the same thing.
  3. I would never mark a parcel as "fragile", strangely enough that is like a red rag to a bull and would probably cause them to play rugby and/or football with your post The postal service guys have bumped the parcel so hard that the date surround has fallen off and the whole hour numeral circle too! Last time I marked a parcel as "fragile" the PC gear I sent got really shaken up, nearly broken, but fortunately not, a lesson was learned though Cheers!
  4. This is the bracelet code from ofrei.... OME-020ST1504826 http://www.ofrei.com/page1280.html#11076 I was lucky to catch one on ebay second hand......
  5. Thanks man, I have just picked up a chequered finish chocolate/white stitch strap too, nice and thick. It's good to have a few different choices of what to wear. I will take pics when I get the chance
  6. Any chance of a translation of the article? I wonder if there will be anyone "sleeping with the fishes" over this? (and not in a Troy McClure way either )
  7. I think we are all waiting for your new Omega watch! Seriously though, thanks very much for your time and experience, I look forward to your review
  8. I bet the dealer didn't put "gift" watches and machinery, value $30 on the customs form, they are getting slack.....
  9. The non chrongraph SMP bracelet is not the same as the chonograph version, the chono version is much more substantial, thicker too, with larger end links, with a slightly different finish
  10. If it is a total strip down, sonic cleaning of parts, correct oiling and regulation, then I would say it was about right, the A7750 is not an easy movement to work on..... It really depends on the guy doing the work, like any profession, is he any good?
  11. I wish they would create some on the possible "no date" watches first, as I am not interested in these sunken date watches, it is a flaw I cannot seem to live with..... Get the pre-2000 Daytona ready! A new thin case and hour stick markers, and they will sell by the bucket load! At least if this movement is decent
  12. Yeah, I will put it on my wrist soon, but my PAM036 is glued on at the moment! The rep bracelet has screws yes, but the bracelet itself is also very poor, and cheaply made. It becomes clearly apparent when you handle the gen bracelet how much nicer it is. I would rather wear the rep on blue leather or rubber, than use the rep steel bracelet Cheers!
  13. I should really wear this watch much more, with all the upgrades it pretty much looks and feels genuine! Gen hands, bezel, Swiss 7750 and most important genuine bracelet! The rep bracelet is really, really poor, I strongly suggest you try and find a different strap/bracelet, as the rep bracelet is a massive tell..... Cheers!
  14. Mine is an early batch too, and it fits nice and tight and has a satisfying click
  15. If the watch you have is the exact same rep as mine and the one I linked too, then you should be good to go I would say. Unless the rep factory has altered the case design on more recent Omega SMP's....
  16. Need much more info, pictures would help a great deal..... That watch must have been packed up a treat for it to fall apart upon delivery!
  17. The genuine bezel fits perfectly on my Omega SMP chronograph replica, this watch here: http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=197 As for other Omegas, I could not say if a gen bezel would fit. However, there are other members who have had good results with the above watch
  18. It is possible, but damn hard as it is a pressure fit bezel, so it is brute force and keep the case safe, the rep bezel will probably be toast afterwards..... Have a look here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/Omega-Seamaster-...ml&hl=Omega Cheers!
  19. Great watch and a fantastic write up and pictures, thanks for sharing Lani! I will probably invest in a no date speedmaster rep, Snoopy award anyone!?
  20. I so hope they rep that Omega with the new movement! I have always wanted a Snoopy award Omega, it was the first watch I searched for, and never found..... Here's hoping!
  21. Should be repable with the new A7750 subdial modification too!
  22. I just picked up a new strap from Panatime for $30 for my PAM036. For the price you really can't go wrong! http://www.panatime.com/24swlechwast.html What do you guys think? It is a chocolate colour with white stitching, waterproof too! I think it looks quite sharp, a nice clean cut look, it compliments the titanium finish and the dial really well.... Cheers!
  23. Nasty stuff right there Rolex need to pick up the ball they dropped, and fast.....
  24. Option 1: Sell the watch, buy the "no date" one you want, and have some spare cash in your pocket.... Option 2: Ruin and devalue a perfectly good genuine Rolex..... Cheers!
