This watch just got my record for the most compliments and obvious "noticing" in one day! I have it on a soft suede strap, where the colour matches the dial to perfection and three customers made a general comment of "nice watch", and I noticed a few others taking a quick (and not so quick ) look!
-
I posted a WTB thread and sent messages to a few dealers, looking to buy an entire Asian 6497, but one with polised beveled gears. I was lucky enough to find one for sale, expensive, but it is the only way of doing it, I can't imaine you can buy just the gears, at least I could not find them....... What sort of tool do I need to remove the pin then? I was told I could reverse it, as it is perfect and flat on the other side Cheers!
-
Wow looks fantastic, great stuff! The only thing I considered doing was swapping the crown gears for polished/beveled ones. Aside from that I am not overly fussy about it, as mentioned, it is sweet "out of the box". I may try and flatten the pin, but I don't want to mess it up! I kinda like the purple AR, may not be accurate, but it looks great! As for the T/L thing, well I think there were a handfull of gens that did have L's, so that is good enough for me! The lume on the hands is great, but not the dial for some reason? Cheers guys, thanks for all your input

Thank you, she's still wrapped around my wrist and keeping crazy accurate time too!

Welcome to the forum And you are right, it will take some time, keep your eyes on the members sales thread, every now and then there is a really nice modded watch for sale, in fact there are modded IWC and PAM watches there right now!

My Black 16520 Daytona built and serviced by Ziggy
Mickey Padge replied to kikom3's topic in The Rolex Area
Damn, looks amazing! That gen bezel makes a big difference, so nice and slim! -
Thanks I was told over on RG too that this watch was the "old version", which is very accurate and that the new version is quite poor, so be careful what one you get! The coffee/tobacco dial is really nice, appearing different in various lighting conditions

I looked about on our dealer sites for this rep and found that it has a cap on the hands, so I assume that is the new version? The cap looks really strange!

I picked up a PAM036 in a trade, having been after a titanium PAM for a while, I think this is a really nice example I don't really know much about PAM's, but I am pretty sure this is a Swiss version, it keeps very accurate time. I have put it on a brown python strap that I got from Homer, the strap is genuine python, but still has the "Officine Panerai Italy" on the underside, which is pretty sweet! It matches the brown dial really well Here are some pictures, keep clicking to expand I am very happy with the watch, I have ordered a few different types of straps for it already, I can see how PAM's can be more expensive than most reps The hands have very bright lume, but the dial does not, does not really bother me though. The cannon pinion seems to be nice and high and the watch has a purple AR tint. I would appreciate some pointers from the PAM experts please, is this a good rep? Cheers!

I purchased the yellow dial version from PreciousTime, have a peak here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/Yellow-dial-Brei...130#entry600130 I have not seen many, if any, pictures of the black or blue dial Seawolf's, but if they are anywhere near as good as the yellow dial watch I received, you will be extremely happy! I suggest you contact PT

Bratislava trip to visit my friend Lazarini !
Mickey Padge replied to Stephane's topic in General Discussion
Beautiful place and beautiful woman for sure I went to Bratislava in 2006 for my brothers wedding to a lovely Slovakian girl, and found the city center to be amazing, cheap food and drinks, but still great quality..... Whoever goes will have a fantastic time, I most definitely did -
I know what you mean dadog13, poor comms is always frustrating, but it is a known fact on the board that Tom's repairs can take a while, and he may not be too prompt with his communications, but peeps are very happy with the finished repair work and continue to use his services, myself included However, Dr.Tub filing a PayPal dispute for a watch purchase from a couple of weeks ago, is in my opinion an outrageous thing to even contemplate, and extremely selfish of him too I think Dr.Tub will find the aforementioned watch buying and repair services diminishing in ever decreasing circles if he is not too careful. Dealers do talk amongst themselves about problem customers......
-
Well as far as I can tell the PayPal dispute would have been filed for a watch purchase from just over a couple of weeks ago, right? It would have absolutely nothing at all to do with the repair work, which you pay for afterwards, when the work is complete! So I think any comments regarding the validity of a PP dispute are null and void, and DR.Tub shows his true colours by even considering such action so quickly, if at all! I have to agree with the mods on this one 100%, this guy just shoots his mouth off and shows very little, or no respect to the people here offering their time and services to us, people like him will simply drive them away from our boards.... Time for Dr.Tub to be quiet I think, no more of these threads please

That watch uses a ceramic material with a gloss finish, which is totally wrong when compared to the gen (confirmed through a buyer on the boards), plus it has crappy Asian date fonts, rather than the more accurate ETA style. The pushers and crown are steel, not titanium, also I don't think it is available any more.... Cheers!
-
I have to say that you either weren't wearing them correctly (pushed deep into your ear canal), and/or your ears were not creating a seal with the default rubber flanges. Or you may have actually had a faulty pair. ER6i's are anything but airy and thin when it comes to sound quality

I give up; what does RWG actually stand for...
Mickey Padge replied to Avanti's topic in Introduction/Rules/Support
Relatively warm greeting -
Yeah , I suppose it is a gen insert, so why mess with it I just like the look when the gloss finish is very slightly lifted, for a more satin look....
-
Looks fantastic as always Maybe needs a little more bleach work on the insert, it looks quite new still? Cheers!
-
Opening a PayPal dispute will stop him being able to send or receive money I think, so anyone else who is about to pay for finished work will not be able to, so they won't get their watches back until your dispute is finished.... So don't do it!
