  1. Very nice Dluddy. Great Strapmaster choice too!
  2. My DW 6263 is the mystery movement model that I had a VJ23 put into, the only thing was new movement holders had to be made as I recall. The Monte Carlo was actually in stock at J&W .
  3. Dudro, I used to make them w/o the sweet and sour too, but I'm getting lazy in my old age with making simple syrup . I still squeeze in some fresh lemon for good measure.
  4. I'm going to be predictable again today Tomorrow
  5. Hi Manuel, I don't have a J&W 6263 so I can't say, I can say that the engravings on the J&W cases compared to say an MBK/MBW that the J&W are much better. Thanks for the kudos!
  6. You can't go wrong with any Surefire. I keep a G2 in each car for emergencies, inexpensive for a Surefire and durable. Their own brand of C123 batteries have 10 year shelf life too!
  7. Oh yes!, Makers Mark for good Mint Julips. And while we're on summer drinks, nothing like a Mojito to quench the thirst. Boy, do I sound like an alcoholic....
  8. My 1st cocktail of choice; a sidecar. If the bartender gives you a puzzled look after orderig one I say nevermind and order a Kettle One with a twist of lemon and tell them to say the word Vermouth when shaking it. The perfect sidecar: 2oz of brandy or cognac, it's a mixed drink -don't waste the good stuff on this 1oz of triple sec or cointreau 1oz of sweet & sour mix add squeeze of lemon shake and strain into a cocktail glass with sugar on the rim float a slice of orange on the top -add a spash of simple syrup or more sweet & sour to taste for those that find it too potent Poker night with the guys; I'm pretty happy with a glass of Oban with an ice water on the side. Anytime drink; black coffee.
  9. Cool, a watch and a lighter all in one
  10. Oh boy, I thought I was just going to be able to get away with a better 201A dial. Nice work Davidsen!
  11. Congrats Stilty, very nice! The Exp 1 is such a classic. Enjoy it!
  12. Very kind of you Laz, thanks! Here you go Bruce NASA Strap. -that's a great choice on a GMT as well.
  13. PF, is that the same 5513 shown on Timezone with the great story that it was accidentally dropped inside a ships engine for 3 years and found and was still running?
  14. I love the texture of the Vintager Chief , post some pix up when you have them mounted.
  15. Hi Freddy, I think yours looks great, I see what you mean about Phong's engraving. But at $450 I'm not so sure either.
  16. The guys are correct, a 1680 dial (~27mm) is too large for an MBK/MBW case (26mm). It has to be trimmed down to fit so you run the risk of chipping the finish I've read that one of the members (can't remember who) used a lathe to enlarge the groove for the dial, but that's a whole other level of work. Another more costly option is to get a Vietnamese made aftermarket case that is made to fit a gen dial. I was in the same situation with a gen dial and decided I didn't want to cut it down and scrapped that project. Good luck!
  17. Thank you The Zigmeister and M!
  18. Thanks Yello! I'm almost done in the vintage Rolex department, after completing few other projects in the works I'll be taking a break .
  19. Radar, What parts are you looking for exactly? You can PM as that is probably easier. Mine are from quite a few different sources. Regards, -TMG
  20. Sweeeeet El , enjoy it and thanks for sharing!
  21. Freddy, I didn't know you were into Daytonas Thanks! I'd have to agree, the MC is very special and I love the chunkie "big block" case.
  22. Your is fantastic, wear it well Tribal! The Monte Carlo wasn't cheap either but is so unique and been a long-time favorite watch of mine that I couldn't pass it up.
