  1. Musicale - I guess it depends on where you get your MTM suit made - my tailor offers free alterations for the lifetime of the suit. I had a couple of MTM suits made last year and since then I've lost quite a bit of weight - at yesterdays fitting I had lost an inch on the chest, 4" on my gut(!) and 2" on my waist. The tailor said he'll struggle to adjust the suit down to my new shape perfectly but should still be able to make it fit better. At
  2. IWC FA Jones on black leather. It's still a big watch but has a low profile under the shirt cuffs and looks great!
  3. I read that article with great interest this morning as only yesterday I had a fitting for a new Made to Measure suit at my local tailors in Brighton. Unfortunately the Sunday Times journalist mixed up his terms as many people frequently do. The service that Suitsupply offer is Made to Measure i.e. take a set of measurements and send off to a factory for production. This is entirely different to bespoke which is an extremely labour intensive, personalised service which The Mentalist has already described perfectly. However if The Mentalist has any comments on this Suitsupply company I'd love to hear them as their prices seem good and they claim to use Italian factories rather than mills in Hong Kong.
  4. I neeeeeeeeeed a pilot watch! If they make a Big Pilot super-rep soon then I'll go for that, otherwise I may have to stump up for a big wedge of cash and get one of Tourbys hand made models!
  5. Hi Tourby Any update on your project? It would be great to see some pre-production pics!
  6. There's a chap called Tom Highway on TRC who's in the UK and offers movement servicing - he may be able to help. Not sure if he's active on this board but have a look over there...
  7. No wonder he didn't pay as his history shows he spent $108k on a Patek Moonphase one month earlier!!
  8. Thanks for a great review.... I really like this watch but was nervous about the size. I may just have to investigate if PT has any stock!
  9. Here's mine... Can you guess where it is :-) (Photo credits to NK Swallow & urban75.org - my ext HD is away with all my own pics - these are better anyway!) In the words of Fatboy Slim & Fedde le Grand: "Put your hands up for Brighton... I LOVE this City!"
  10. I've had 4 or 5 watches from Andrew & Sash plus some LV bags from Ken shipped to the UK from China with no problems at all. Delivery time ranged from 2-4 weeks. If anything Parcel Force are more likely to damage or lose your stuff rather than make a customs seizure! But for quick & risk free ordering definately go with PT or Narikka - they have to take the Parcel Force risk up front!
  11. Count me in for a Cousteau Diver old model group buy
  12. Chelsea all the way. Despite today's result this will be our year - no doubt!
  13. I'm the the short guy in the green t-shirt! Great story behind this photo... it was the start of my rep addiction. On holiday a few years ago in Thailand and one night the big Indian dude in the pic rocks up outside our restaurant on a tiny litle moped and starts offering us lots of watches! I eagerly bought my first ever PAM from him - in retrospect it was shockingly bad! - and Chris on the right bought a A Lange & Sohne. We lovingly referred to him as The Watch Man and the photo was taken after he spotted us in a tailors, ran into the shop and tried to offload even more crap on us! Obviously my PAM died pretty much as soon as I got home! That guy has since cost me a lot of money Could The Watch Man be the elusive TTK?!
  14. Congrats V - welcome to the premiership and that
  15. That's kinda why I find it unbelievable that they could've been wearing that ... I can't see either Jose or Rafa taking a trip to a normal watch shop - surely it must be something more special than a Tag!
  16. Despite their footballing differences it seems that Jose Mourinho and Rafa Benitez share the same taste in timepieces... Whilst watching the FA Cup final last weekend I noticed Jose wearing a watch that I just couldn't work out. Then I saw that Rafa was wearing what appeared to be exactly the same watch during the Champions League final on Wednesday! The watch was steel and rectangular in shape, with a very broad black leather strap. Having had a quick scout around think it could be the Tag Micrograph: Any eagle-eyed WIS football fans here notice it too and care to comment? JG
  17. Great review - thanks The Zigmeister. Think you're just scored yourself a service job on my GT XL!
  18. Working from home today so wearing shorts, t-shirt and my new GT XL! Still love it despite the price and jittery second hand...
  19. Received mine this morning from Trusty First impressions - Build quality of watch is very nice and solid although I'm slightly concerned that the '2' of the '12' seems a little misaligned. The jerkiness of the secs hand is quite noticeable and hearing that it's running off the chrono makes me worry slightly. Can any experts pipe in and comment what long-term effect that may have on the movement? I can't smell vanilla on the strap although that may be because I smoke too much and my sense is smell is ruined! IMO it's a nice watch but probably not worth the $330 I paid. The Br_itling Evo seems better put together and better value. JG
  20. Chris Take a look at BOB's site - great place to find well priced straps, buckles etc for your PAMs.... They're in Germany too so quick shipping to the UK. www.waccex.de Cheers JG
