  1. Looks like the family will have to forget about xmas presents - gonna have to get me one of these!! JG
  2. @ JTB. It's pretty obvious why the English are keeping quiet... this ashes series is just too embarassing! I've just got home from an evening in the pub with a bunch of aussies and was forced to drink myself under the table to escape the abuse! The sooner this is over the better.... Warne's just taken another wicket... (and the sooner we get a completely new rugby squad even better!) At least I can rely on the russians to keep my passion for Chelsea alive!
  3. Update: just had email from Davidsen confirming that the crown in his pictures is a prototype and the watches he ships will have a perfect crown. He is going to upload new pics later. I can live with the font!! JG
  4. Well I've just pulled the trigger.... it will be shipped next week and I'll post a review soon as it arrives. JG Edit: just asked Davidsen to explain whats going on with the crown- must admit it looks odd
  5. Morning... I ordered one of Jimmy's last ones rather spontaneously yesterday in hope of fitting it to a 111h I'm about to order. I've now realised that it's the wrong type for a 111h and can't really justify a $99 upgrade to my 005 when I have all these other new watches to purchase! I literally only had confirmation of the purchase from Jimmy this morning so if anyone would like this CG for the $99 I paid please email me ASAP on greenjr@talk21.com and I can probably have Jimmy redirect the delivery to you. I would also consider a swap for a very high quality dark brown or black 24/24 PAM strap. Cheers JG
  6. He posted on TRC about an hour ago so is definately around...
  7. Evening... I recently received the Asian Unitas Jones from Andrew which is a superb value watch but unfortunately it's running a little too fast and gaining about 5 minutes per day. I can see a slow/fast lever on the movement... So if I remove the caseback and move the lever will this adjust the speed of the watch? If any experts here could recommend how far to push it into the slow area to adjust it from gaining 5 minutes per day to zero. Any help gratefully received. JG
  8. Ahh I thought the croupier was wearing a speedmaster - i thought it was some kind of special edition with a red/black dial! Must admit I was pretty tired by then
  9. I saw it last night... incredible!! And a complete watch-fest.... I counted a PO, SMP, Railmaster and Speedmaster. Still not sure what Le Chiffe was wearing - it could've been a VC of some kind... JG
  10. Very very glad to be a part of it... JG
  11. The shop took my reservation without a deposit so guess it's flexible. I think demand is high enough for them to not worry about people dropping out. Details are: Neil Wood ChronoMaster Ltd. www.chronomaster.co.uk tel. 01204 45 96 36 cell. 07747 19 25 26
  12. I'm hooked! Just put myself on the waiting list at chronomaster.co.uk - they say I can get it this year! Now time to find myself a new 0% credit card
  13. Yep, I'll be broke too... Angus is going to be very busy counting the $$$ from all these AP & Chopard orders
  14. We were very close - Finsbury Sq! But my office has just moved out of the City to Baker St. I'm sure there's plenty of watch geeks in the City - but most of them can afford to be gen watch geeks!!
  15. Hey Chris - I know loads of people in that line of work - which firm do you work for?? I'm an account manager in the City for a very large japanese IT company JG
  16. Another brit right here.... welcome Let me know who's up for a new bond st GTG! JG
  17. beautiful.... your pics just forced me to pull the trigger on one from Andrew too!
  18. The watch in the second picture is a Citizen Aqualand diving watch JG
  19. Thanks for the tips Looks like I'll leave it to the experts this weekend! JG
  20. Evening all... looking for some guidance please. I am incredibly impatient and have now discovered very inept at anything requiring a delicate touch. 2 days ago I received a lovely brand new VC Overseas which I then set upon with my precision screwdrivers to remove some links and size the bracelet. Now these screws were pretty tough but I managed to remove 2 on one half of the bracelet. However on the other side of the bracelet the screws on every removable link seemed to be set rock solid and were even breaking my screwdriver.... So the inevitable has now happened and all the screw heads on one side of the bracelet are now ruined and I fear that I'll never be able to wear the watch as I cannot shorten the bracelet! Think I'm going to take the watch to a jewellers on the weekend and see what they can do. However, in the meantime do any members have any advice for me? (apart from throw away your tools and leave it to the experts!) Cheers, James
  21. My moonwatch arrived from PT this morning! Think it'll be getting all my wrist time this weekend. Probably pop it on the Nato strap tomorrow! Have a good weekend all. JG
  22. @ JTB Good choice with the K800 - absolutely best phone on the UK market. I bought that Nokia N72 first and took it back after 2 days - just couldn't get used to it. Watch out for battery life on 3 though - connecting to the 3G network sucks battery life. JG
  23. Trusty old 005 for me... (and yes those are my new B&W compact monitors in the background - a work of art! ) JG
