This thread is amazing. I can't wait to see some of the new PAMs that are coming. I know the North Pole GMT is on the way... I'm hoping others, as well.
This manufacturer seems to be interested in getting his products right. Very refreshing.

No decent TAG reps?
Oh yeah. This is genuine.
You've got a very nice watch, by the way. Congrats!
EDIT -- Let me add this edit. Compare some of the finer points of your watch to mine. The hands, for example. They look great on your watch. Your bezel looks pretty good, too, so for what, $15? it's a pretty nice pick-up. Finally, look at the subdials. I don't think you can see it in my picture, but trust me, the subdials on your watch look pretty darn spot on.
You should be proud of your watch.

Production has officially started. Info posted at top of thread.
Can we contact you directly regarding paypal address, or other payment means, if applicable?

yes....253. it's a really good one! looks better than my swiss 212 i think. BTW your 005 is in the mail! looks great! i have to get one of those.
Great, thanks! BTW, let me know how the progress goes on reluming the old dial. I can see why you want the practice... getting this down is going to allow you to do great things with some of your watches.
Send pics when you have some.

Great collection.
Is that the new 253?
p.s. thanks for the work on my 005!

Absolutely this is still happening. I had the samples through last week but there were some minor adjustments to be made (these are going under a cyclops magnifier so they have to be absolutely perfect). I am about to phone the company right now to get an update on them but I hope they are going to be ready before Xmas.
Thanks for your hard work. I didn't realize that you are accepting payments, so I'd be more than happy to make my contribution.
Thanks for seeing this project through.

Hi, all. I've just purchased a genuine Datejust crown and tube, so I'll be sending this watch off to have it installed. My question, though, is whether the datewheel can be fixed so that it's better aligned in the cyclops. Is this a simple fix?
Thanks in advance.
-
Sure, I installed immediately after I bought them, almost a year a go.
They fit perfectly and then you need sunglasses for the Tritium glow.
Which strap are you going to put there?
Did you see my post where I'm showing the gen strap I bought?
I have about 15 straps in my collection, but only about 5 of them are of real quality. I've got a genuine alligator, two europelli and a couple DON straps that are great. I change straps daily, so it's hard to say which will go on it. I saw your post on the gen strap -- great pick-up!
I can't wait for those hands. I wondered whether they were actually genuine or whether the guy was peddling rep stuff as gen. I'm most excited that the length will be correct. That's one obvious sign of the rep.
I'm sending you an email about something else, so check that.

Also, unless Davidsen has new crystals - the upgraded ones he is selling still have the wrong cyclops size. You have to get one of the upgraded ones from the recent board project.
Not the wrong size, but DEFINITELY the wrong magnification. Rob wouldn't even install it saying that it didn't look good.
I have put my name in the hat to buy a cyclops, it's a VERY important part of this upgrade.

I need to reply to this post, because we share the same deep love for the gorgeous 063.
I'm also doing all I can to make it as better as possible.
Just to don't let you feel alone TK471, I also purchased the gen hands several months a go, from Adm-co.
Now I just got a gen strap from the Panerai boutique here in Florence.
I'm waiting to receive the new powerful cyclops and the new crown from Tommy.
The dial is out for re lume.
In the end it's going to cost a fortune, but this is what we are here for..., or not?
The cyclops size on this model, for what I know is 6mm, as it was made before year 2000.
After 2000, the cyclops size has been increased little by little until 7mm on the recent models.
I will show pics of mine too, after it will be ready, hopefully in a week, or so.
That's where I got my gen hands. Have you installed them yet?
As for the cyclops, I can't wait. It will be that final piece.

I thought this thread needed a bump.
A reminder, date wheels will be out in the new year, and honor your commitments to Mark.

I would be up for 4, if not more.
I am up for one for my 63 GMT without a doubt!!!

Well, the project continues.
The Zigmeister has just finished reluming and installing the Palp crown. I purchased genuine hands off the 'bay for the proper length.
Left: 1. date wheel (which should be available any time now)
2. cyclops
Can anyone point me in the direction of the cyclops project on the board?
Thanks.
Pictures coming as soon as I get it back from Rob.
EDIT -- nevermind... I think I found it.

Sorry for posting again, but I'm confused.
I don't understand where anyone is on these improved DWs. Mark has a thread, but I don't know for a fact when they are coming or how much they will be. Do either Lello or archibald have completed DWs ready for sale?

This thread is an interesting read for me. I wasn't aware of all the history.
I, for one, have posted only in Finepics' thread because I thought he was the only source of this date wheels. I believe that I have given Mark the impression that I would buy a wheel from him, and he may be counting me in on that assumption with his expenditures and orders. I really don't know what the status of those wheels is, but on some level if you make a commitment to a person on the board it's best to keep that commitment, otherwise you will find yourself unable to make any deals at all. Our reputation is ALL that we have on these boards, so it's best not to play fast and loose with those.
But what's wrong with multiple sources for these things?

Genuine hands on Ebay is 200 USD + shipping which is crazy. Hope Finepics can get us a better deal than that to make our GMT's more accurate
Yeah, you're looking at $216 for the hand sets on the 'bay. Factor in $450 that I paid for the watch, $265 in full service and lume that I've got into the watch, not to mention the datewheel which is coming, we're looking at a lot of money into this watch.
Is it worth it? It may be. I guess that's a personal call. All I know is, my wife found out about this habit of mine and is seriously angry about it. I don't need to drop another couple hundo into this watch now.

I am in for one for the 63, for sure.
Thanks!
P.S. I apologize for sending an email... I'm getting a little turned around with the few threads out there. I will follow this one from here out.

yep....the obvious thing that cries......FAKE!!
There's got to be something we can do to report that... someone is about to get taken to the cleaners!

Is it necessary to replace Crown and CG with Palp ver2.1 over Davidsen's?
I just received a Davidesen 005, and it has an amazing crown and crown guard. Finepics (Mark) will point out that there aren't enough teeth in the crown, 48 vs 50 or something -- I'm trying to remember this off the top of my head here -- but the width is pretty good. IMO, though, it's the best out-of-the-box crown and CG you can buy.

Great news!

Hi, all. I know that the Datejust isn't as popular as the sub, but I've just received a one and have a couple of questions about modding it.
1. Is there a source for genuine datejust crowns, or at least an upgraded one; and
2. Is there a quality aftermarket oyster bracelet for it. I've seen bracelets on the 'Bay for hundreds, and I'm just not spending that for a $115 rep.
Overall, it looks very nice. A quick glance at it would never reveal that it's a rep. Date font isn't as bold, and the crown isn't as good... but that's about it.
I'm pretty happy with it.
Thanks in advance.

I am in.
Regards.
If we need to post here to reserve one, then I'm in, but I'm guessing Mark will post a new topic.
Stay alert, people! We the lucky few with genuine 2893 movements will snap these up quickly!

I think I'm going to have to bring this thread back from the dead and let you know I want one for a 201A I think I've just bought.
Mark, is this the right CG for that project?
