  1. Agreed, the movements are pot luck, send it to one of the service guys and get it repaired, if it's more than 50 bucks just do as Tom suggested. Having it serviced is better as your movement will be working AND serviced so no need to worry for at least a few years. The new 005... Mmm petit miam...
  2. I've been drooling for a decent 320/329 rep, if the new versions are good, I'm jumping straight on this. I'd love a Gen, and would happily reduce my collection to three watches if I got this one in the stable this would be the all purpose watersports / travel / business meeting / date night / all rounder. Probably the best single-watch there is... it does everything, love it. P.S. Don't know why, but the ladies seem to looove Panerais...
  3. Ok ok... I was just testing... :op I judged it based on the small engravings on the side that goes into the long side of the strap, plus the depth of engraving. I've seen a lot of laser-etched ones that are rubbish, that looked most gen-like but the light favors No. 3. 5 is my next best contender, but don't tell us yet, let the others have a crack I don't want to be the only failed attempt looking forward to the breakdown Pete
  4. 20 pounds... I'll give you 30 because I'm a nice guy Make sure to have it valued by several people, a unique piece like this will surely do well at auction. Good luck.
  5. Looks like a Sumo wrestler sitting on top of two Swiss Models great pic and great SOHC, love the irridescent blue on the dial of this one.
  6. Not sure about that, this is the Radiomir deployant which is a totally different design to the Lumimor one you're referring to. Regardless, the 288K is the BOTB rep currently in existence, and Boone is yet to complain about the deployant Pics or it didn't happen!
  7. Middle is Gen, rest are reps. Three are from one maker (1,4,5) and 2nd from the left looks a little different. But No. 3 in the middle is the Gen.
  8. In THAT case, I think it's the 113 (white dial 111).
  9. Google is your friend: http://www.google.com.au/m/search?site=images&source=mog&hl=en&gl=au&client=safari&q=white%20dial%20panerai
  10. Why? I take a pic, upload it to Photobucket, then open the pic and click on the 'i' icon, it gives you the four address combinations, click on the 'image' link and it adds all the relevant tags before and after the address, then you just come back to your RWG page in Safari and paste it into the reply box! Couldn't be easier! This is one I prepared earlier... All done on in about 20 seconds on the iPhone.
  11. In the wise words of Chief Wiggum, "if it feels good, do it "
  12. Agreed, the Legendé really wraps around the wrist and is probably the most comfortable watch to wear, even though the weight (which is iMMENSE!) is noticeable.. Never tried on an SA but might do, considering all these amazing frankens in the thread, those Gen dials look pretty amazing. Might have to zero in one, if any of you guys have a spare Gen blue batons franken lying around, not getting any attention...
  13. I'm man enough for a GMT I've noticed on my wrist the Legendé looks like a Standard Navi does... I've been blessed (cursed?) with a flattish but wide wrist, and fairly standard at 7.5 inches. That GMT does look like it's about to eat that Blinged out SA...
  14. Wait, so who was giving who the pounding? I kid! I kid! Your tourby reviews have been dearly missed
  15. It's been a few months now, she finally let him out of the bedroom...
  16. That's the same story I know for the IV / IIII debate but I never had a source. Excellent research and great find
  17. Do the movements run at 7 grams per rock?
  18. That's right... E = N * -dB/dT Electromotive force is proportional to the number of turns in a loop (N) times the time rate of change of the magnetic field strength (. Walk through slowly (dT approaches infinity), then -dB/dT equals zero, so the Electric Field picked up by the machine is zero = no beep... Pretty basic really... If you're a nerd
  19. There are two Super.Fi 5 Pro models: 1. Super.Fi 5 Pro 2. Super.Fi 5 Pro EB (these are same as above but have a subwoofer inside) For your listening tastes, the Super.Fi 5 Pro (NOT the EB or XtndBass Entended Bass) will be perfect. ULtimate Ears headphones are great. www.ultimateears.com
  20. I've heard stories but until I can prove it myself, have to call [censored] on this one... Although a trip to Vietnam and I'll happily retract my statement
  21. I think we might have seen this on the forum before, but nevertheless a great idea
  22. That first shot is fantastic, the colour contrast between the gunmetal case and the brown strap is superb. Hands look interesting too
  23. In order of increasing diameter: 42.5mm Breitling Navitimer Tricompax TT: 43.5mm Breitling Montbrillant Datora 46mm Breitling Navitimer World Family Shot: And the monster: 48.5mm Breitling Montbrillant Legendé
