  1. hmmm...i think that was a custom dial job on the black SMP....but I could be wrong...i remember reading about it on timezone...maybe
  2. Yes...it is gen...just look at the lume on the markers....it should glow like a torch....but its strange about the lume spilling over...it must be an Omega dial reject? This dial is in the 18kt white gold SMPs with raised bezel markers...similar to the limited edition America's Cup SMP.
  3. C3 should be good enough...slightly off white...and lume is great like the gen after a charge.
  4. Perhaps a loose rotor? just invest $12 in some watch tools: http://cgi.ebay.com/16-Watch-Tool-Case-Ope...%3A1|240%3A1318 Some decent tools are highly recommended for any rep collector given the QC problems we encounter.
  5. I think that Josh was selling this watch for awhile about a year ago but they are no longer available from him. I think Taki bot one and superlumed it...then sold it to another member. That is definitely a decent case for a SMP project. -bosk
  6. Good tactic...gotta try it soon. Please post some pics of the watch
  7. The thick case looks like King's version...but her crystal had coke bottle distortion...He valve does not look too great but the crown guards are a big improvement. Wow all the links are removed...i thought I had small wrists IMO, the worst aspect about the watch is the thick case...it just does not sit right on the wrist...especially with thin wrists. I've given up trying to find a decent SMP. -bosk
  8. The clasp performs it function by holding the watch...its the fake pushers and the cover with AP logo which becomes crooked once in awhile that bugs me. Not a major issue but the factories could have made it sooo much better, IMO.
  9. Bracelet on the ROO is awesome...its the clasp that is crap. -bosk
  10. Damn....a seller on ebay is trying to get 60K for this watch.
  11. Just officially released a couple of days ago....33K Euro or about 35K US dollars MSRP...Unfortuately, limited editions sell around their MSRPs but there are 1000 of them so street prices might drop but I doubt it.
  12. Well I know y the straps were flipping out now. They were replica straps that were pawned off on timezone as being genuine. There is a metal pin at the ends of the straps, omega logo too big, and buckle was polished and not brushed. Doh!!! -bosk
  13. I've purchased two gen rubber straps for my SMPs, one oragne and one black. However, I'm having problems fitting the rubber strap on my watches...even on my gen bond SMP. On gen and reps alike, the top of the strap flips out between the case and springbar...this happened using my gen springbars too. Any solutions...like thick springbars? I dont see this would help since the springbar can still rotate at point of contact with the case. Perhaps it is normal for the gap due to my 6.5 inch wrists? The strap seems to fit the watch fine (without gap) when I place it on one of the watch cushion for storage in my watch box. TIA bosk
  14. The speedmaster-type bracelet is normal on the black SMP...yes u can get it with the bond bracelet but most of the gens I see have the speedmaster bracelet. Once again....awesome watch! It makes me think twice when I'm bidding on SMPs on ebay
  15. I agree...the closed factory is not as good as this one... here is mine....pearl is decent but CG are crap...they badly need some filing and bezel insert needs to be filed to recess it bit more.
  16. Yes...I agree...that is a freaking nice rep....best I've seen...pearl, bezel insert recessed, crown guards. Stick in a gen dial and it would be close to PERFECT. My guess is that it was purchased from Trusty a few years ago? -bosk
  17. Unfortunately, the royal oak series is not too popular. There are new reps of the 15300 out but no one has done a recent review on them. There are several reviews of the AP jumbo where the best version is the MBW jumbo. Most the members here like the RO offshore for its oversized dimensions. In this case...all the deals are the same with silix being the cheapest... generally u give a bit away in service for price...but just a bit.
  18. I wear my rubberclad all the time and no problems yet (silix version)...I wonder if there are different versions out there.
  19. Interesting....I have a gen T3 dial and with a sec @12 movement...there may be some possibilities with a decent case
  20. I have gotten by "best" bond bracelet (from a blue bond SMP) to fit my black SMP from King (org w/ speedy bracelet) and my correct He closed factory electric blue SMP (org w/ speedy bracelet). Perhaps I'm missing something with this question asked by the PO.
  21. Perhaps this gives me hope in working with my SMP reps again. Besides the He issue, I assumed that the thickness issue was too much to overcome. 1 issue with the bezel insert is that I suggest sanding it down no matter what (no glue is needed...just pop the insert in). The gen insert in slightly recessed in the bezel while most of the reps' inserts are flush with the bezel out of the box.
  22. Great work...its always enjoyable to work on one's own watch and to have something u can be proud of. Concerning the caseback... did u install a gen caseback? No fitting problems? Is the thickness of the watch changed now? Rep SMP are always a bit thicker than the gens...causing the reps to wear differently once on the wrist.
  23. There does seem to be something wrong with the proportion of the dial and bezel. It just looks off. I've waiting a while to get a RO that complements my MBW jumbo.
