Thanks Nanuq! (we're not worthy! lol) I've actually learned a lot from you, which brought me to my favorite: My "meters first" sub. I tried to make it as correct as possible, with an early case, twin-lock crown/tube, 9315, gen tritium pearl, aged insert, T-127, and a beautifully aged dial by the master. Oops, almost forgot the 1570!

Wow, gotta respect the outside the box thinking that went into these projects! I bet you miss them!

Stephane, The dial looks 100% gen including the tritium (notice the little "feet" on the corners of the 3,6,9 markers?) The mistake I was refering to is an obvious one, and makes me question the history of this advertised "2.6 mil" 5513. It has a twin-lock tube and a trip-lock crown. Back to topic! Your watch is surely a gem, wear it well and in good health

Can I make a constructive (lol or better yet, destructive!) suggestion? Perhaps taking it apart again and giving the dial an acid bath would age it further, and take away some of that "fresh cut" look

You would definitely have a market if you made some. I still have two "titanium look" crowns I bought from PAM which are absolutely useless, with crooked stem bores. The worst part is that PAM seems to have disappeared and hasn't responded to PM's and emails from more than one member concerning this.

It's funny how over my short period of time here (and other forums: it was a learning process that brought me here ), I have gone from someone who knew very very little about watches in general, to becoming someone having avid interest in this hobby. At this point in my life, I can certainly afford gens. In fact, I have quite a few, including one very very rare and expensive vintage. However, I have found more interest in the search of parts, researching, and figuring out what would work. I'm actually quite surprised at how many gen parts are still available. Of course, I can't possibly forget some of the wonderful friends I have met here as a result of this hobby and common interest. I know there are many terrific people over on the gen forums, but much like the cars I have owned over the years, I have found the best friends in people who have modified, and changed, and built something very different than what someone can just go out and buy. Now my upcoming projects are waiting in boxes full of genuine parts, including 1570, 1530, 1520, and being "Frankened" as we speak, a 1030 movement watch. I ask myself what's next? Will I get bored and just move on to buy only gens? (I hope not!) I was just wondering if anyone else here ever thought the same things? Cheers everyone!
