  1. Let me preface this by saying I have never risked doing any sort of repairs on my watches other than tightening a loose rotor or changing an insert. Today, I opened one my new purchases and noticed that the gasket was not inside the groove. As much as I tried, it's simply "stretched out" and won't go back in. My questions are: 1. Am I correct in my assumption that it needs to be changed? It looks in great condition but won't fit in. 2. What's the best source for a replacement? Thank you
  2. For some, it's the thrill of chasing down parts which can last months, in some cases, years. For others, it's the thrill of having an almost 100% gen watch for a fraction of the cost. In the end, it's all personal choices. Hang around a bit and maybe in 6 months, you will realize that the little tell on your dial and insert is starting to eat at you and you will get a gen one. Next, you will realize that a gen bracelet looks a little better than a rep. Once you have a gen dial in a franken, cutting the feet is pure insanity so you will go big and buy a gen movement... and so on and so forth.
  3. Does he not "go quiet" sometimes and resurface? How long has it been?
  4. Ordered from him several times with no issues.
  5. Wait, did you have your previous dial touched redone? That thing is beautiful!
  6. Thanks. That's what I remember - I just can't find my email/pm confirming from purchaser.
  7. http://news.yahoo.com/chinas-fake-sphinx-demolished-state-media-133824161.html Where does it end?
  8. I've got this beautiful bezel on one ot Daytonas. I don't remember the source. Can someone help identify this one! Thanks again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. I bought this NOS 1665 insert a little while ago. Anyone know what version/mk this is? I'm planning listing it for sale but want to have all the right info. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Fabioliveri, thanks for the offer. Much appreciated. But as Prdubis just mentionned, my son should receive a charger on Monday! In the meantime, he's sharing with a friend. He's looking forward to a FULL charge!!! A great big thanks to Prdubis for his generosity in helping me out and many thanks to all who offered across the EU!!
  14. Amen to that! I knew someone would help and I got several offers - several!!!
  15. Thank you all for overwhelming offer to help including those who PMd me. I think we have a RWG plan to get him a charger!!!

  17. We have a few members. I know everyone is busy that's why I did a general post. Hopefully I hear back from the teacher!!! Fedex wants $72 - that's insane. My main issue is that he's moving hotels.
  18. No its a Samsung but he's on a school trip with a tight schedule. I've already asked his teacher to go buy one but have not heard back.
  19. I'm taking a chance since I know this community is top-notch. My son is currently in France and has lost his phone charger. He's moving hotels in a couple of days so for me to ship him a replacement is risky and very costly. Can anyone in France right now who can help source and ship a replacement reach out to me ASAP via PM. I will cover the costs, obviously. I just need this done ASAP while he is still there. THANKS!!!
  20. Movement says 1570? When a seller mentions "correct this" and "correct that" - to me that's a flag that says the watch was assembled from genuine parts. Nothing wrong against that but it's a nice way of saying it. As opposed to a watch that says "all original".
  21. CC, that's a nice Yachty! I'm wearing this one. Vintage 1665 on modern RubberB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks! Looks like I will have a spare MBW 1665 case... What should I do with it?!?!?
  23. Thanks for the info.
  24. I plan on moving the guts of my franken 1665 from a MBW case to a Phong case. Can anyone confirm that the bezel will fit. Thanks
