Just saw a report of counterfeit goods on CNBC. Main focus was purses, Dr. Dre Beats and wine (!) but interesting.
This is huge business. It's a multi-billion industry. The funniest thing was that they interviewed a guy who was in the business for 16 years and made millions. He said,"I sold fake to buy real! Fake is fake. Real is real"
It's insane how many Dr Dre beats were destroyed. That's why I will never buy anything on eBay!
Like Chief said, you can easily get in the $4k-$5k range if you add gen insert, gen dial, gen bracelet, etc.
If you can get a hold of a DW case, that's your cheapest bet. A v72 will set you back around $1k. Gen dial, depends on model and condition. Expect at least $1,500 for a black dial and in excess of $2,200 for a silver dial.
He sources it from the same factories as the other dealers but then makes some modifications.
If you want to really add some magic, have BK send it to PB for you to have some additional mods done such as reluming, fixing the pearl, etc...
Good luck
Agree with you. I love my YM and it's on my list of gens to get one day. My nephew loves it and I can only pass down a gen! Knowing me, I will keep my rep until I am on my death bed and at the last second, buy the gen to hand down!!!
I've noticed he puts the beater stuff on VRF and sometimes has nicer stuff on TRF.
@ Alligoat: If I decide to pull the trigger, I'll keep Jacek in mind too.
I've always wondered why some dealers on VRF sell for considerably cheaper than others. Specifically, Ponycar350 tends to sell beater watches for considerably less than others His watches appear as though they have lived, rarely come with box and papers.
Still, I've been tempted more than once.
What are your thoughts?
It should. All modern subs have same size. I know of at least 1 person who converted a TW sub to a TT sub.
I'm planning a similar pimp job on my BK WM9 with a serti dial.
