  1. Thanks for the input so far. I think I must have suffered from heat stroke! I have already gathered all the parts for 6239/6241 including v72, gen crown tube, crystal. Just missing the white Newman dial. I agree. No one will ever the inside! I Even doubt that the Rolex bridge I purchased from you, M will ever be installed! I am concerned about proper fit! I think I just saved $5,500!
  2. With all the awesome vintage Daytona's popping up lately, I'm thinking of skipping all the fun and going straight to Phong for a 6239/6241. I've got my beautiful 6265 franken Phong based, with gen Sigma black dial. I've got a DW Silver dial v726 inbound with the basic gen upgrades. I have always lusted after the 6239/6241 Paul Newman white dial, red outer track. I always loved the combination of colors. I also love the non-screw down look and while I am open to the existence of the Mayer dials, it's just too much to explain if ever I was asked. This brings me to Phong. $5,500 is a lot of cash for not even a gen dial! The pros - the case : Valty and LH have recently posted impressive comparisons of the Phong vs DW. - the inner markings on the movement are quite impressive - little waiting time The cons - $$$$$$$$$$$$ five thousand five hundred times! - only the crystal, crown tube are gen I think I need to get a grip of myself! Opinions please?
  3. A gen insert makes all the difference. I was never one to absolutely need a gen crystal on the modern Rollie's but I have one on my LV as well and it's fantastic!! Enjoy
  4. And this one is a..... Nice looking movement!
  5. Looks really nice! Only in our community is a 6239 a beater!!!!
  6. That's very nice! You don't know how many times I've stared at Ubi's white DD thread... I agree, a DD is a must!
  7. This is all original Rolex parts and from what I've read, user Jockey can afford both the GMT and the Explorer. But I agree that if someone here put up a similar all OEM Franken, the earth would move!
  8. Wow! Fantastic. My favorite sub! Any pics comparing the 2 cases?

Saw that too... Beautiful watch in the making
  12. From the pics, I could not see the LEC... I continue to hope for a sapphire solution.
  13. Woof, very nice fit indeed. That is not the stock crystal, is it?
  14. Who has a shot with the SD bracelet?
  15. I wonder if JMB would be able to manufacture these ;-)
  16. Question : will the BK TW guts transfer into the TC? And if so, I'm stuck with a less than perfect case...
  17. It's not about perspective, it's about respect. I have nothing against anyone. Both help the community in sourcing parts others cannot. I'm sure if anyone, not only BK could have sourced the TC parts, we would gladly buy them, mod them, Frankenstein them, etc. If BK put them in the case he did, we bought it knowingly at the advertised price! That's my point. When the next guy comes out with the perfect case, will you be the first to crucify TC for what will surely be an inferior case in the future??? The game is about getting better each time. Every once in awhile, something new comes along. I choose not to denigrate people. It's my choice. I can appreciate what both have done without bashing anyone. Of late, I've read several posts of yours relating to BK watches where you are basically attacking him. Who the hell posts a Sean Case watch in BK's watch section, if you don't want to buy from him and pay the premium, don't. He builds the watch and has great after sale service. I've heard the same of TC. Not everyone works for free. I don't. To each his own. And for the record, I did own a gen and sold it. I prefer to keep my reps and no more than 25% of cost of gen. That's a $1,000 budget for a modded 16610 and that's plenty! Now, let's enjoy our watches wherever they come from!
  18. That's harsh indeed. The differences are so small. Sure, if you're a WIS, you notice them but let's not forget that the goal is to get as close to gen as possible and the TW, just a few short months ago was as good as it got. I wouldn't disrespect the product or the source so harshly. In 6 months, NEWSOURCE will discover something slightly better. Should we then knock the TC as a piece of a crap?
  19. I've been having difficulties sourcing a gen 703 crown and tube for my vintage Daytona. I had one which was not usable and recently purchased one that turned out not to be gen! Luckily, seller accepted full return! Anyone hear have any spare parts? Tried the WTB section but got no response! Thanks
  20. Been there... Again and again!
