I guess it's a matter of taste. Oddly, I don't have have a 16610 - my first gen watch that I flipped. I have a variety of subs but no 16610. Is the 1680 that different from the 1665 GW, the 1665 double Red or the 16600? Not really, but they are all different enough. The 16600 with the sapphire crystal is a good beater while the older 1665s are nice short sleeve type watches.
Ask LHOOQ why has now 5 1016's? Because he can!
Thanks for the update. Intriguing, it is is. At least, now we understand why the TC is the updated WM9. It's still strange that other business people could not just manufacture something equivalent or better
Like others have said, let's start producing true 1:1 reps of every kind.
M, beautiful write-up as always and congrats! Nothing like gen, I agree. Especially with a such a love for one model in particular.
If you ever tire of that Space Dweller... Let me know!
For those interested, over at RG, there's a member looking for a preorder of 25 crystals to fit the original SSD. Not sure If this is allowed, but here is the link.

This would allow a non-gen spec crystal to be fitted to replace that old crystal with the huge LEC.
Let's make this happen!
What he means is that your bezel has the indicator "1 1 0" with extra space between each digit. A gen, and a phong, have the "110" on the bezel tighter, closer together.
I am gathering parts for a 6265 and 6239/6241. I have a v72 and a 726 inbound. I was planning to use the v72 in the non-screw down Daytona. Is this the most appropriate?
Also, what is the best source for a white Exotic Newman dial with the red outer minute track and matching hands?
Lastly, just posted a WTB for the non-screw down case set that can accommodate the valjoux movement.
On my list down the road is a 6542 white dial and a space dweller. That's after I complete my Daytonas and my double Red. Oh yeah, a 1665 Comex.
As you see, the possibilities are endless!
