  1. I would think twice about cutting those feet if you plan on a gen movement. Beautiful watch.
  2. Try taking some clear pictures of the watch and posting them. Perhaps the clarity of the cyclops will generate some help.
  3. It depends on what you see as critical. I'm sticking to BK for now since I like it stock! I've sold off any gen inserts I had since the upgrade was not justified.
  4. She must be really flexible to read that LV all the way down there...
  5. I wouldn't say that the WM9s are done with. They are an excellent choice and am nowhere near selling mine anytime soon although I had given it some thought recently. What surprises me more is the amount of TCs being sold. Are people just having buyers remorse or is it the fact that it is really not worth the upgrade? I am by no means a sub expert. Slight differences in crown position don't bother me as I never really look at the crown. The SEL on my WM9s are more than satisfactory. After that, I've made a conscious decision not to put any gen parts on my WM9s. They work "out of the box". Gen parts are reserved on $10,000 and up vintage watches that I am trying to rep.
  6. If only they carried a sea dweller...
  7. My sub pearl lost its shine! While doing some maintenance, I used too much glue on the insert. I used nail polish remover to get the glue off but I think I applied too much to the pearl. It's not a gen insert. Just a very good WM9 pearl/insert. What can I use? I don't want anything that will make it turn brown in a few months. Thanks
  8. Nice. Never heard of the Steinhart before the sales thread. Fine looking watch.
  9. I enjoy reading the threads but seldom participate. Those guys know their stuff and it's quite educational. What's funny is when a thread slowly builds and all signs point to a fake. Then, in a dramatic turn of events, a long standing member will overrule with a "dial looks good" and the tide shifts where everyone just follows suit! Something similar happened this week when someone complained about a PCG 1675 not being all original in the for sale section. The first few posts agreed until, BOOM! Someone said the opposite and everyone turned and followed suit.
  10. Great advice from Freddy. I often return to By-Tor's reviews as reference sources and Zigmeister's explanations on the the seconds @ 6 7750 powered Daytonas are incredibly useful. Read and read some more! It's mind-numbing at first and you won't understand it. Hang in there and do your research!
  11. I've started reading a little about the 666 Sea Dweller. They seem to command a premium over regular 16600's, some have the white-gold surrounds, others do not. Always on the hunt for a new watch, please show me your 666's and explain to me why you like it better than the 16600 or even the 1665. Thanks
  12. Very true. If its a grail watch, I guess you best. My grail seems to change every other week!
  13. I've read that the crystals are not inter changeable, unfortunately. There is always the mineral crystal Ofrei option to get rid of that LEC.
  14. Thanks! That's when guys get excited about the SEL... I can never tell!!!
  15. Not looking to fool anyone any more than fooling them wearing a franken! I doubt I will ever pop it open. Its just a little extra something that only I will know!
  16. Inserts and crowns need to be changed on both. Rehaut is only marginally better on the new only because its not that big of an issue on the SSD as its made out to be. Lack of LEC on new model is a + Therefore, I'm not impressed vs the SSD.
  17. That's another thing I don't understand. How hard would it be to make a top quality clone movement?
  18. If you plan on swimming, you should always pressure test it.
