  1. Will try to take better pics. I misplaced my macro lens. Might have left it in the kids bag and they're with the ex this week. Argh! @ Freddy, you're right! I spent an hour comparing mine with the gen dials and that's when it falls a part! That's why I love/hate Stefano Mazzariol's pics! @Valty, your dial looks very similar to my left dial. I'll definitely try to take a better pic to compare.
  2. I've been searching in vain for a gen silver dial with the black sub dials for my next V72 build. Impossible to find. I recently picked up a couple of dials pictured below. What are your thoughts? You will note that one of the markers on the dial with the darker Daytona font came loose. Luckily it was in the bag!
  3. Thank you a for a most informative post. That is absolutely amazing work. Problem is sourcing a gen modern movement.
  4. I'm in. I hate Ronin. Proud Member. Ok, more of "I'm jealous of Ronin!"
  5. congrats! That is a beautiful watch. Although I do enjoy patina, freshly serviced from RSC is king!
  6. That is a stunner! Something about that red writing just grabs you! Congrats!
  7. Stunning assembly of parts and inserts!
  8. If ingod is MIA, where can I source the BEST dial?
  9. My girlfriend said it looks the same! I'm like, "hello" it's a whole new look! I had not noticed the lug holes! Good eye. I just picked up a gen insert and will wait to put it on until I decide where to go with this project. Can I ask why you don't favor NDT dials?
  10. Here is my beloved DRSD. I picked up this PB modded beauty a few months ago. I loved the blueish-grey insert and age of the dial and case. I think that PB did a fabulous job here. Once I added a nice vintage pearl, the watch took on an even better look! My dilemna is that as much as I love the watch, dial and aging, I find myself focusing on the weaknesses of the dial. The spacing and font are a bit off from any gen dials I've researched on VRF and DRSD.com. A lot of time and effort went into modding the ND trading dial. I've considered putting in a 1570 in there but I know that finding the "perfect" DRSD will be difficult / impossible! Am I being too anal here? Part of me says to enjoy the watch. Another part is telling me that to really appreciate the DRSD, it's got to be as franken as possible. It's the same dilemna that pushed me over the top in my pursuit of the ultimate vintage Daytona. Your thoughts and comments
  11. Akira, impressive work and impressive research! There's a lot of 1675 love these days!
  12. That is gorgeous. What are the specs? We need details!!
  13. I wonder if I should not just remove the rotor and bring it to a watch smith to oil? It might be faster than waiting for a shipment and less risky.
  14. i sent him an email about a week and half ago and have not heard back. Vacation?
  15. Two different washes. The lopsided dial watch has no rotor issues.
  16. Moebus 9010... I assume this is not something I can pick up anywhere... Nothing on the Bay?
  17. The wheel or the date wheel overlay? Thanks. I will definitely keep that in mind. I would have imagined that the movement is the same no matter the watch!
  18. Good to know! I've been watching some 1570's on the Bay. Alternatively, I'm thinking of buying a Datejust with a 1570 and swapping out the movement and put in an eta in the DJ.
  19. I did and couldn't. I also think he was nervous handling this watch when I explained it was made up of many gen parts. He doesn't normally handle reps or Rolex. That makes more sense.BTW,what kind of lubricant should I use on the rotor?
  20. Good to know! I was actually planning on sending you a pm after I read your checking-in thread!
  21. No, it fits perfectly in and the tool doesn't budge when I apply my Herculean strength! I wish I had a real work station where I could secure the watch head to something, then I could I use 2 hands and make this thing move.
