  1. I don't quite get the '..like stolen artwork part' shouldn't that be the chinese movements?
  2. I think the problem lies not in the watch, but in my inability and lack of knowledge in the diff variations... Glad we have someone who knows this stuff like you, By-tor and Neil as well.
  3. Can't agree more. looking rich and being rich is 2 different things. I know a friend of a friend who parades around in a leased SLK but couldn't even afford a decent apartment... also the threads he wears man... whoaaa... fancy... this guy has debts all over the place maintaining his lifestyle.. To each his own I guess..
  4. WTF is up with paypal man. Geez--these stories happen too often; Paypal should do something about protecting sellers... And I agree with Deve. On eBay you can check the person's feedback, but for other matters, wait a bit for the PP to clear, then send the item. ..of course there are idiots who does chargebacks too.. sigh
  5. Whoa.. no kiddin.. nice watches... That purple one is the Eeyore version?
  6. ..ugh no invictas please just my personal taste.. get a seiko for a solid watch or alpha if you want the sub look. Alpha's are priced VERY competitively too
  7. More of an 'El RrimerQ' movement probably...
  8. Dude you watch too much star trek... ...okay, back to watching TNG S7
  9. And you wanted this for reasons beyond my comprehension... oh nice sig by the way I'm itching to see the new casino royale too.. man..
  10. I think you're talking about an older rep (4th gen). This one is newer, I saw it on Andrew's site a couple days ago.. The hands look the right length to me..
  11. I think your talking about two diff versions. The newer, better, version is the one sold (first) by Eddie Lee. The white one you mentioned is an older rep which is not even close to quality. Eddie Lee's Ingenieur
  12. I would wear one with Victoria Secret on it: Victoria's Secret NYC 2006 STAGE CREW Of course I would have to actually be there for the bragging rights I looked at the watch and showed my wife.. she's just OK with it though so I wont get it for her
  13. Ain't that the truth. Everytime I'm here I try to gather as much info as I can by going through the old threads, re-reading them again and again. The funny thing is, there usually is something that I missed! These guys done a really thorough job in reviewing.. I owe my current collection to By-Tor, Pugs, Ubi et al who always do good reviews IMHO But tell ya the truth, those pictorials really puts in the final 'push' so to say
  14. Welcome! I'm also a new initiate.. you will lose money here.. I REPEAT you will LOSE money here ..coming from personal experience of course... gawd this is fun!
  15. It's just like any mechanical contraption: the more gears you exercise, the more gears that will wear out.. sooo use it sparingly
  16. Here's a picture of mine Sorry for the bad pic. But notice that they look _really_ different--even so with the naked eye. The clasp looks like beadblasted Stainless Steel. Look at this one from pug's What the heck is goin on? Should I try the oxy treatment?
  17. Got this baby from andrew... love the dark ti finish I also got a gen dial which needs reluming and off to The Zigmeister it goes. I however noticed that the clasp (with the IWC insignia) is a much lighter color than the bracelet--sort of like beadblasted grey stainless steel: This is a dead giveaway.. since it's spottable from a distance I'm not sure why people think this bracelet is so good.. or is it just mine? Pictures tonight.
