  1. Thank you! This clarifies things up, BTW I saw your franken-GST and it's
  2. Thank you for the opinions, but it seems so far, inconclusive Experts out there? I'm just wondering if I should apply AR coating to the rep...
  3. Nice walkthrough Pug! As a matter of fact, I have been following your old articles from when you were deciding, buying, repairing, found a gen dial, re-repair, until one where you are ENJOYING this awesome watch Largely thanks to your influence, I can't wait NEmore, so I decided to purchase one from one of our awesome dealers here... of course this will be going to The Zigmeister too for a-fixin' I originally love the simplicity and ruggedness of the New Ti Aquatimer 2000 series.. and am still tempted to get the gen--but the GST is just too bootiful. Who knows maybe in the future I will get a gen dial for the GST too!
  4. :D "Ima gonna sell my gen and get me 10 reps"
  5. Well, at the end people will believe whatever they want to believe in--whether it's true or not. Whatever the real reasons behind 9/11, it is a tragedy that should not ever happen again..
  6. As a matter of fact, I got the whole CD because of this post. Check out "White and nerdy"
  7. Good good. eBay took it off They are pretty fast if it concerns copyrighted stuff...
  8. Finepics: 'Pearled' polishing finish maybe? Back to the problem, I say listen to finepics here. That is a point to consider. You don't want to make your rep further different from the gen
  9. All that just to prove a point.... I like the way she proves it though
  10. Whoa, I'm not a big fan of big puncture holes in my wathcband but that does look sleek and neat. I agree with your wife's comments about them 'circles' :D
  11. I second that. I'll go for it any time But knowing these guys (and our heavy thick jeweler loupes), they probably decide to screw something up Nevertheless, if there is one with 98% acc, I'll get it
  12. I was being sarcastic since it is advertised as a destro :)
  13. I wore it with both my sports coat and suit, and it looks fine. Maybe not the one to wear to parties as it is not dressy enough; however, I wear mine to informal parties. Heck, James Bond wore his Omega SMP--which IMHO less dressy--and still looks good with a suit... maybe because it's Pierce Brosnan and the English accent? who knows
  14. Think of it this way, Ken. we might be shunning the watch to prevent you from getting it BECAUSE WE WANT TO GET IT FOR OURSELVES!!!! It's all mind games j/k man personally, I wont buy it because I dont like 'gold-laden' watches. BUT If YOU like it that's what matters the most. And it's not like US$4000, not even $400, its only $40 As a matter of fact the person looking at the watch 95% of the time is... well.... YOU!! :)
  15. I am biased, in that I don't want some guy or girls name on my watch.. I like it clean So I'll vote for the reg blue tag..
  16. I watched this video like a month ago.. 4 things that I would like to point out is: 1. Take this with a grain of salt--as any information you get from the media or the goverment, use common sense 2. They did a good 'common-sense' approach to show that the government was unneccesarily withholding information, but uses a poor literary resource (American Free Press or something like that) to support that 3. They have a make sense analysis about metals and heat resistance... college physics and chemistry does helps sometimes 4. They have an uber-excellent video review that tickles your curiosity... they theorized that the collapse is controlled.. just like a demolition. They even have examples in history (older(!) buildings) supporting that theory, and again revert to the common sense of the reader As any information think it through and take it with a grain of salt... don't let political views (pro-bush for example) or political hatred (contra-bush for example) shape the way your common sense works My 2 cents
  17. They seem to feel that the replicas decrease the value of their watches... They're insecure that their 'gen' will be easily viewed as a 'rep' by people.. poor schmucks.. If they're there for the image, they should just get the rep then At least there's one guy that got it right: AMEN BROTHER.. AMEN Cheers!
  18. It doesn't even look Destro to me..
  19. r11co's idea is also good. Now if I get a rep bracelet for 45 from andrew + 100 for a gen clasp, it might work out for 145 + ship fer the bracelet Hopefully I can score this gen bracelet I'm currently looking at for 175.
  20. thank you x86uops, that was indeed a good price. I'm not too attracted to this watch though, at least not enough to justify buying the real deal. Been contemplating about this too, since I know the price of new is around that. But lets change that a bit due to my recent finds: TTK rep (on it's way) = 315 -- Inspected by TTK's watchmaker; I'm tempted to send this to zig man too tho Used gen SMP pro chrono bracelet = 175 315+175 = 490 Total for a faithful rep.. hmm, i think the saving's purdy good And if I send it to zig, +200 so that will be 690 for a The Zigmeister-serviced rep.. still purdy good. Wait! Let's add a 'faux' serial engraving on the 7 o'clock lug ends.. wonder who can do this.. Let's say 50 740 for a rep... sigh still expensive What do you guys think? Opinions are welcome! I like discussions. PS. Anyone knows the details on the serials of these Omega SMP Chronos? Size, font (wont matter too much.. its tiny) , numbering scheme (700xxxx) or something... please let us know!
  21. IWC Aquatimer 2000 Titanium. I have contemplated on a similar matter, and this is the watch I want: classy, low-key, but rugged and manly at the same time something about the Ti color is nice Priced new for around 3200-ish.. you can get a good rep if you still have some left (Image borrowed from blitzwatches)
  22. Hi all I was thinking of getting a replacement bracelet to make this piece even more 'authentic'-looking since the rep comes with a screw bracelet But, since we are dealing with a rep here, I'm not sure that the original bracelet will work. The original gen case ref number is 2599.80 thus the bracelet that will fit it is ref# 1504-826 see Ofrei's site for details. Will this fit on the rep? There is also the 1503-825 bracelet.. I can't see the difference, but according to ofrei it fits another set not including the 2599.80 Helpp However the price of the bracelet is, well, more expensive than the rep.. so I definitely will entertain any alternatives. Thank you!
  23. I'm so excited about this watch.. I don't usually prefer Breitlings, but it's almost 'faithful' ant that alone is attraction to me I too prefer quality over quantity. Problem is I have 2 more coming--1 IWC GST from Andrew for redialing a-la pug and 1 Omega SeaMaster Chrono from TTK. I'll be sending my Link Chrono to The Zigmeister soon (and so will the other 2 once they come along) ..and that will cost some money (worthwile IMHO) Now ubi comes out with this.... sigh... (looking at wallet) Oh heck, I probably won't qualify to get the 'inside info' since I'm a new cat around this forum, so my wallet will be safe--for now However, if ubi is nice enough (or evil enough if you look from the financial perspective ) , then feel free to PM me. Help me send my money!!
