  1. All that work & all we get is an A8 badge. Let's see that 'Dweller against the rest of the car.
  2. I stand corrected.
  3.   Dial is a professionally repainted gen. The insert came from JoeyB & the rest is gen.
  4. Pantograph prior to about 1990 or so.
  5. 'Super rep'? Not even nearly. More like low-end Canal Street fare. Retail value, when new, probably around $25. I hope this is not a sales pitch.
  6. Well done.
  7. Probably, but it depends on what the problem is (most reps come with dirty/unserviced movements) & what type of movement it has. Most likely, these are low-end reps that are powered by generic Asian movements. In that case, I would either replace the movement with an ETA (assuming the cases are at least made well) or replace the reps. Many watchmakers will work on an ETA-powered rep, because parts are available, but not on generic movements, because parts, if even available, are very difficult to source & the cost of repair will far exceed the value of the rep.
  8. The '63 has some issues (old style dial (missing long-tail 3 in minute totalizer) & too widely-spaced 1-1-0 on the insert, etc), but the '39 is definitely on the right track (beat up the case a bit & replace the crown with a gen & you will have a winner).
  9. Remember, alot of fitment problems are due more to manufacturing variability & lack of QC rather than to inaccuracies in design (though that may be relevant in some cases, too). So 1 Yuki case may take gen parts without any problems, but the next may require a bit of fiddling.
  10. Read this & after you are done, you might read the forum rules pinned atop the Introduction/Rules/Support forum.
  11. There is only 1 word to describe this dial - swell. The fonts look almost dead-on.
  12. Please do not re-quote an entire post (especially, when it is right above yours) just to add a line or 2.
  13. Looks good, but no details?
  14. Some heavy metal today, gentlemen.
  15. A 1030 is nice, but an A.260 smokes
  16. The natural wear on the jubilee makes the watch look older & conjures up a narrative about the original Oyster band having gotten lost somewhere along the way
  17. Not liking the nato strap (if an aftermarket bracelet will not fit, you might consider 1 of the rubber-B straps or the cheaper, rep alternative), but the watch looks great. Well done.
  18. I appreciate the input &, yes, jubilees are definitely the most comfortable bracelets.
  19. Got a good deal on a US-made, 70s jubilee bracelet that makes a nice change from my usual 7835. It needed a bit of restorative work, most of which I have completed, but I think the center (polished) links could use a bit more polish. In any case, I am not sure whether the jubilee adds a bit of an edge to a Newman or if it just looks out of place
  20. Remember, these are wrapped crowns (I have never seen this on a 704). That is, a thin sheet of steel is wrapped over a metal substrate. Over time & after successive polishings, the wrapping gets worn away at the highest points, leaving holes.
