  1. If you can crowbar yourself away from the delectable Ms. for a few minutes, how about a wristie or 2 with the wine & waves as the backdrop against a sunset.......or even without the sunset?
  2. The distributor is called NDTrading, but I do not think that is the name of the company or factory that makes them (I kind of doubt it is).
  3. Since it is after midnight (now officially Wednesday) & no one east of me has started 1, I guess it is up to me to begin the mid-week wristies. Not embarrassed at all to show where MY gas escapes from
  4. The 3035 calibre was introduced in 1977 & was used in these models (maybe more) - 15505, 16000, 16003, 16008, 16009, 16013, 16014, 16018, 16019, 16030, 16078, 16250, 16253, 16258, 16600, 16660, 16800, 16803, 16808. As to whether or how well it may fit into a particular rep case, that depends on which factory made the case and/or how much work you are willing to do to reshape it (the case). My franken experience is limited to vintage (mostly 15xx calibre) models, but maybe someone who has built a modern franken will be able to provide more definite info.
  5. As many of you know, I am not a fan of yellow gold watches, especially yellow gold tool watches. But every once in awhile a watch comes along that just takes your breath away & this is 1 of those Click me
  6. I believe that Hanoi is ground zero for a certain type of Rolex rep case that many would love to get their hands on (for a sane price). Unfortunately, I cannot provide any guidance, but, hopefully, someone who can will respond (you might PM Flex). Enjoy your trip.
  7. Nanuq - Those are the closest pics I have in my archives, but I thought it might tide you over until you receive the real deal. Congrads again. Nice find.
  8. The different rep insert is not better, it is just different. 1 insert gets 1 thing right & another wrong, while the next insert gets a different thing right & a different thing wrong. Compare the shape of the island inside the 4 & you will see what I mean. These differences do not demonstrate any type of conscious effort by a factory to fix or improve anything. Instead, it is just yet another example of different parts being made from different plans or by different people.
  9. Big congrads on the Black Lung, Nanuq. I know how you have been salivating over it. I am expecting to see something along the lines of this
  10. I seriously doubt that either of these are anything other than plastic. Anyone care to try scratching their bezel with a nail to find out (ceramic will not scratch).
  11. See original post.
  12. Outstanding work (as usual), but I think that watch needs a better insert & handset.
  13. Alot of reps come with short stems, so I would think Ziggy's 1st hunch is your best bet. Only cure is to have a watchmaker replace the stem. Fortunately, ETA stems are not expensive & your watchmaker should have no problem getting it.
  14. Piece Of S-h-i-t (unreliable junk).
  15. Considering that it went from sold (2 days after I had paid for it) to posted on the bay in less than 2 weeks, I have a hunch the guy serviced it himself (& the service was of the dip-&-go variety). It is very difficult to gauge the value of a movement like this since they are so rare. But I would expect the ebay hammer will ultimately fall somewhere between $3,500-$10,000.
  16. Good luck, Diesel.
  17. There seems to be 3 or 4 dial variations among these. You betcha & congrads. You will love this watch. The Rose Sub is the only Tudor I have ever thought was worth owning. In fact, I prefer it over the Rolex Sub, both for its rarity (you see Subs -- both real & not -- all over the place these days, but when was the last time you saw a Rose Tudor -- real or not) & its floral beauty (I think the Rose Sub dial is much prettier than the Rolex Sub). I have wanted a Rose Sub for years & even considered constructing a franken. But I figured the construction costs (using a standard ETA) would run at least $600. So here we have assembled frankens for less than half what it would cost to make 1 & it even comes with a gen movement. You just cannot beat that. Between the amazingly accurate, 'Superrep' GMTIIC (fortunately, mine is 1 of the few chs versions that have been without problems) & now the Rose Tudor 2008 has to go down as an historic year for rep collectors. Talk about being in the right place @ the right time.
  18. No pressure today
  19. Why are you selling it?
  20. I hate to say it, but you got the right pearl & the wrong insert. The PMWF insert, which is the best aftermarket insert for vintage Subs & Seadwellers, accepts the Ofrei Illumines dot perfectly.
  21. Please post a good, clear picture like the 2 above.
  22. I must be getting senile. As it turns out, I have a drill bit that I even labeled 'For enlarging SD bracelet holes'. I totally forgot about it until I read your reply. Once I found it, it all came back to me & the holes were enlarged & the bracelet put together in less than 10 minutes. Thank you, Pete. Now, I just have to figure out how to repair the end pieces that I mangled before you pointed me back in the right direction.
  23. I fit 2mm springbars to a rep 93150 bracelet once before, but now I cannot remember how I did it (without warping the last links)? Does anyone have a good procedure for enlarging the holes in this rep 93150 that are made to accept 1.2mm springbars so I can fit gen 2mm springbars And, while I am at it, since I have already slightly mangled the links, does anyone know how to flatten them back out? At least the side that is exposed when the watch is worn.
  24. Perhaps, I am unique, but very few civilians ever actually see my watches, because they generally remain hidden below my shirtcuff (other than t-shirts, I never wear short sleeves). Of course, it only takes a split-second glimpse of some of the more iconic or popular models to elicit a reaction from the average watch enthusiast. But, by far, RWG people see ALOT more of my watches than anyone on the street ever will. So I sometimes wonder if we might tend to over-neurose the accuracy of our watches without any real cause.
  25. I think the Chinese just use whatever movements they have on hand or are able to get for the best price. There does not appear to be any forethought put into the parts used, which is why each factory's version of the same watch often differs. Then, they just find ways to make things fit as best they can.
