  1. The first AI computer to pass the Turing test is now hosted online. It's designed to mimic a 13-yo boy from Ukraine. Good luck getting through! http://www.princetonai.com/bot/bot.jsp
  2. Hey DiverDoug! I'm glad you resurrected this thread, what a great read with all the old timers.
  3. Yeah baby, there's the mother of all Jack-o-Lanterns waiting for next Halloween! I bet you could fit inside it and scare the bejeezus out of some kids.
  4. Thanks Freddy, I've been trying to get a midnight pic of the sun going down, with a corresponding reflection pic in a watch crystal, going through the collection.
  5. Yeah Mendota, this one and the 6536/1 are gen too. This one is all original except the small arrow GMT hand and my AD swapped in a gilt tropical dial in a swap for the "Mini" aka "Radial" dial it had when I bought it.
  6. Yes he has moved from NS, though to protect his privacy I won't say where. His new town is getting a heck of a fine addition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The Precursor to the Breitling Navitimer, this is the Gigandet AOPA triple date chrono, basking in the Midnight Sun.
  8. Specs? All gen and original, circa 1971.
  9. I talked to him last week, he is officially retired from watchmaking and has moved far, far away. Godspeed to him and the Fearsome One! He will be sorely missed.
  10. Ooooooh yeah, there's some pieces in that list I'd like to have too. My lineup is 1665, 6536/1, 1675, 1680, 7016 (franken), 6538 (franken), Gigandet AOPA triple date chrono and a Doxa Black Lung. All the rest were given away.
  11. Hang onto your hats boys, I'm thinking this afternoon I'll mount up a domed crystal a friend sent me. THAT ought to be a nice photo!
  12. Sorry mate! I thought I'd do a little photo shoot of various vintage pieces going into summer Solstice. Didn't mean to put the hurt on your wallet.
  13. Gahhhhhhhhhhh, keep that in Denmark!!
  14. Homer Alaska -- "A quaint drinking town with a fishing problem" I'm surprised you got ANY sleep. The constant daylight, the ocean, the Salty Dawg, the fishing, the hiking ... if you can scrape together 2 hours sleep / day you're doing well, and you're REALLY living the Alaskan experience.
  15. Nope, I set it on the deck as the sun went down, took the first picture then turned and took the second. I bet it's that rascally domed crystal!
  16. Maybe because it is not a flat surface, but a domed crystal?
  17. Here's something I don't get..... how come the reflection in the crystal is not image-reversed?
  18. And don't forget the monster pumpkins! Who wants to tell OSHA that this guy is about to get mooshed?
  19. Dammit Dluddy, every time you show that meters-first I drop something and break it.
