  1. That lume comes from Big Dazza, the Lume God across the Pond.
  2. There's a fine line between well-used and abused. And it's really easy to go too far. Figure out first what you want... too much is usually not a good thing and it can't be undone. Coarse sand paper, rock tumblers, a Tupperware full of coins, they all give different results. Honestly the best results come from initial edge softening (I use coarse sandpaper) then wear the hell out of it and polish it a lot with your tshirt. Like I did with this one:
  3. How about wrapping a thin wire around the post, in the groove, then twisting the ends together?
  4. Hint: buy 2 or 3 while you're there. Most people call these "Jesus clips" for a reason....
  5. Go to the Fasteners section of a good hardware store and look at their selection of "e" clips or "c" clips. They come in very small sizes and you might get lucky.
  6. Thought I'd drag this old-timer out for some exercise...
  7. Couldn't have said it better myself. Good on ye!
  8. Drat! You found it! Ummmmmmmmm, it's nothing ... nothing at all. Just cut it into many many small pieces and throw it away. Preferably in several widely separated public waste receptacles.
  9. We don't need no stinking crystal press!
  10. I have a puny little generator and Lucas control box (gasp) so I dare not tempt fate. Although, I did mount 100w halogen driving lights up front. I swear the beastie slows down 5mph when I switch them on. And I don't try to use them more than about a minute at a time! They do help up on the mountain when it's dark and the moose are moving around.
  11. Wow!! My Land Rover charging system would burst into flames with that much load. Nice!!
  12. Yep, and have you guys noticed whenever new members join up and say howdy, it's always SSTEEL and a few others that are right there welcoming them? Guys like this are what make RWG the place it is. Thank you gents!
  13. Tell him to hurry, we've already got an inch of rain this morning (it's 8AM) and winds are 70-100mph. How's the waterproofing? The dogs ain't liking this much.
  14. No worries, they say "the only stupid questions are the ones Nanuq asks" Wait.... that didn't come out right....
  15. I'll chime in: Mike has my Seiko Monster Mod looking for parts to repair it. To his credit he has bought broken watches off eBay to scavenge parts out of. I imagine it will be finished and back home soon, like his promised and delivered return of my other piece.
  16. If so that must have been the shortest PBS broadcast ever. Now where did I put my BAD-ASS Seiko Monster Divers Dive watch?
  17. You mean our Sexually Desirable Rockstar Moderators that are forced to travel in disguise?
  18. This is an oldie, worth bringing up from the dusty past. Let's hear it for our Rockstar Moderators!
  19. I wonder if the movement is loose in its clamps so it gets bumped off to the side and the balance wheel gets stopped against the case?
  20. @GBOGH and JoeyB, I don't know the backstory to your disagreement. I do know it doesn't belong in this thread.
