  2. Thanks. He's suspended for 2 weeks.
  3. Admin, I ummmmmmmm set most of them to Diamond earlier without using the broken permissions link. So they have eternal Diamond now with no links to payments. Mike on a Bike has that list I did up.
  4. Man, I dunno. It just looks off somehow. Besides the fact I'd never own a watch with a flat crystal, to my jaded eye this thing lacks the elegance of the Big Crown. It's like the shape of a Jaguar E Type compared to a BMW Z4. A real piece of art is separated from cave drawings by subtleties. Anyone can draw a clunky diver case. But it took a maestro to design the swoop and curve of the original. That's the first step where this went wrong, IMHO.
  5. Hey amigo, we need to talk! Dial + 1030 = Big Gonzo

As predicted, not a lick of sleep last night. Visions of 6538s dripping with gilt floated through my mind as I watched the snow fall. Dammit. It's gonna be one of two things... discover the joys of single malt scotch, or get an Ivan gilt dial.

Dammit... now I won't get any sleep tonight.
  8. Same dimensions, slightly different stem height I think.
  9. Gran, I believe they're all 11-1/2 ligne.
  10. I've been thinking about low-beat replacements for the venerable ETA 2846 and found this: T = thickness SH = stem height ETA 2824-2, T: 4.60 mm, SH: 1.80 mm (Hands 90/150/25) ETA 2892A2, T: 3.60 mm, SH: 1.50 mm ETA 2801-2, T: 3.35 mm, SH: 1.80 mm ETA 2804-2, T: 3.35 mm, SH: 1.80 mm ETA 2821-1, T: 4.60 mm, SH: 1.80 mm ETA 2836-2, T: 5.05 mm, SH: 2.25 mm ETA 2842, T: 5.05 mm, SH: 2.25 mm ETA 2846, T: 5.05 mm, SH: 2.25 mm ETA 2850, T: 4.05 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2851, T: 4.05 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2852, T: 4.05 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2853, T: 4.05 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2858, T: 4.05 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2859, T: 4.05 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2870, T: 5.30 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2871, T: 5.30 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2872, T: 5.30 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2873, T: 5.30 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2878, T: 5.30 mm, SH: 2.50 mm ETA 2879, T: 5.30 mm, SH: 2.50 mm DG2803 11-1/2 l, T: 5.30 mm, SH: 2.50 mm, Hands: 100/150/17 ST16 11-1/2l, T: 5.50 mm, SH 2.50 mm, Hands: 100/150/17
  11. Best thing to do is shoot a PM to Admin and see if he has a payment method in place yet. This has been ongoing for a few weeks now.
  12. Some people really have a knack for putting together a franken, too. Others... not so much.
  13. Hey Big D, you need a vintage GMT. C'mon you can hear it calling...
  14. Now that's some fancy footwork. Who is the "trusted" seller?

"A nice dial." That's like saying Monet was a pretty good painter.

    Very very nice. Congratulations!
  17. Yeah this is a weak spot that people forget about. Big manly 2mm springbars in the lugs aren't much good when you have a tiny little piece like that in the clasp.
  18. You know, that crown once dropped can never be used on a watch. Its ... ummmmmmmmmm ... chrominess has now been compromised and you will never be able to trust it. Once can never tell when drastic chrominess may be required and the piece may fail without warning. I hereby volunteer to dispose of it for you. I promise to give it a comfortable and respectful resting place.
  19. Dammit By-Tor, you and your snipe software! You get all the good auctions!
  20. I'd think it's foolish to risk a significant amount of money on something you don't understand, unless the seller is rock solid. You fix that that by learning to understand it, or finding a rock solid seller. "A fool and his money are soon parted." That's why we're here, to help educate people.
