  1. Sure thing, here it is on the InGod website. http://www.ingod44.com/rolex-submariner-chapter-gilt-ref-6538-2-line-brown/ I'll sell mine with its gorgeous aged tinted lustiness for $100 plus shipping.
  2. Ahhhhh, pull up a chair. I researched this for a couple months. InGod dials are not bad, but the gilt text is lacking luster. I'd avoid them personally. NDT are approximately the same but the lume dots within the gilt rings are too small. Avoid. Yuki is no better than these other guys. Minh Quy makes a nice dial at the &1k price point but his quality is spotty. You don't always get a GOOD dial at that price. And he'll plead ignorance when you complain. InGod makes a pretty darn good tropical gilt dial; I have one for sale. Ivan makes the best dials, period. Cough up $1k plus apiece. These are as near to gen as it's possible to get. They fit 1030 movements. Minh Quy makes a very nice dial at around $300 and Big Dazza can age it to look very convincing. The gilt text looks pretty darn good. That's the route I took. Aged / tinted Ingod tropical: Minh Quy $300 price point, Big Dazza aged:
  3. Yes. That being said, run. Turn and run. Trust me on this one. Ivan Wilsdorfevich will own your soul faster than .... well .... if you're still reading it's too late.
  4. Good luck, Big D. As soon as my Big Gonzo 6538 build comes home I'll post more photos of your work.
  5. Hey Asci, great minds think alike. I have a pair of Merrells too, and they feel "cheap" when I'm climbing. The upper and footbed have no support, they're like a tennis shoe. My favorite wife talked me into trying a pair of "Keen" low boots for hiking, and they are night-and-day different. At first I scoffed at them, but now I swear by them. I pull them tight for descending and I feel like Superman. For mountaineering I use Montrail Verglas with the carved beech footbed.
  6. Sorry guys, with me the only thing that matters is functionality.
  7. Tonight I'm sitting out on my deck with a fine wine and a fine watch reading a fine book. She's been sleeping at my feet, now she's popped her head up looking out into the woods. She's starting to growl a little. I've been looking and looking, and just now I heard it... heavy footsteps, brush moving and twigs cracking. I'm about to have a visitor. I'll snap a photo if someone fuzzy pops out of the woods. Until then....
  8. Well, I can tell it was red once...
  9. As long as we're commiserating...... I just had the unmitigated GALL to give my crusty old Land Rover a bath. 45 minutes later I had it running again. (digging grease out from my fingernails)
  10. Great minds think alike!
  11. The idea is to just act like you don't care what anyone thinks. It helps if you really don't!
  12. Ahhhhhh, I miss the snorkeling off Oahu. My favorite was down around the aquarium. I spent 2 weeks in the water with the Frosty Flake and the Big Dazza 6538 (both vintages) and never had a lick of trouble. And they look HAWT underwater too!
  13. Now isn't that a kick in the teeth! Sorted yet, or would you like some more voices added to the cacophony?!
  14. Is that a Helenrou insert? Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry tasty!
  15. Spectacular work, Big D! Boy my Big Gonzo 6538 build better look about 5x better than this, cause that's how much I'll have in it!
  16. Gentlemen, we have a Feedback area where specific transactions can be rated with specific members. In the past we also had a Members Trade Review area, where discussions were held regarding shady transactions. We also pointed out where scams occurred. The Members Trade Review area was locked when the Boss turned on the Feedback feature. We're now discussing turning it back on. In the meantime, we don't need vigilantism here, or pitchforks at midnight. If you've been scammed, then yes... bring it to light. BUT BEWARE what can happen when the topic gains legs of its own. This thread is a perfect example. We don't need to post pictures, email addresses, etc. for someone before he's even been proved a scammer. The OP in this thread said it himself, "how will I feel when the watch arrives Monday?" Meanwhile, people were pouring boiling oil on The Perp. Tone it down, people. Let's keep this place friendly, and lets watch each others' backs. That approach has worked fine for many years.
  17. Is it the bottom right lug in that pic? I don't know if I would try to straighten it. Close one eye and eyeball it long and hard..... how would it look if you just machined out the opening so it's parallel all the way to the lug tips again? You'd lose a little thickness on that side, but would it be noticeable? We just happen to have a few VERY good machinists here on RWG too.
  18. What Ronin said. I wore a Maria's 1665 for years playing hockey, riding (and crashing) the mtn bike, splitting wood, and never had trouble with it. But it was heavy enough it beat up my wrist a lot. Once after a particularly hard hockey practice (an hour of slap shots) it had lost 15 minutes, probably from spinning the minutes hand on its shaft. It still kept good time.
  19. Hey Gunnar, welcome back! Oh and welcome to the new guy too!
  20. These are from a good hard climb two nights ago with my Troop. For scale, check out the guy on top. The best route in life is rarely the easiest. A little sweat won't kill you. There's no sense looking back, your challenges lie ahead. False peaks can give rise to false hopes. Don't let them. Don't pause too long during your climb, you can lose your momentum. Long shadows don't always come from giants. Work hard while the sun is still up. It's possible to thrive even in a harsh environment. Don't forget to glance backward. You might miss something special. Take time to stop and look around. You're missing good stuff. A Man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a Heaven for?
  21. *cough* There was snow behind me.
