I thought franken too, but the original sales post from the prior/prior owner says it's a gen Tissot 2846.
Without changing the wheels, how can a movement running 33% faster keep time?
I bought a 2846 for my Big Gonzo build and my builder says it's running at 28.8k bps. Has anyone heard of this before or know how it could be doing this?
I got tired of it on the steel band, and thought I'd try something different. It must have worked, I've been wearing it for the last 2 weeks!
Here it is on a boring old steel band, to keep everyone happy.
And a photo before I swapped it to the tropical dial, this was the "radial" dial from its earlier life.
Yep, and there's the rub ... nobody has ever seen a Datora with the AOPA wings. It's like it was a transitional model between the Datora and Navitimer, but sprung from the workbench of Charles Gigandet.
....and as the members are caught out modding their watches into frankens and getting banned for showing them, the membership will dwindle to the last remaining guy with the deepest parts stash. The rest of the guys will wind up over here with us.
One nice thing, as a general comment, the brown tint of the dial is nearly the perfect tropical color. Compare it to my 1675 and 1665, and it's real close. InGod got that part pretty close. Out of the box it was too bright brown, but the aging toned it down nicely.
