  1. In the process of getting this manufactured / 3D printed. Hopefully should take the guesswork out of re-fitting new feet on dials that had originally the Rolex (or other) dial feet positions. Of course I will have to test the accuracy of the manufacturing and see if it works as well as I hope it does. 3 Spacer discs (1mm/1.5mm/2mm) so you can adjust the height that the dial sits for different feet, also marker at 12 for alignment. Just waiting to hear back on costs etc. (This is not a sales thread, or an advertisment, or a pre-order process)
  2. It's all on the website, yukiwatch.com
  3. Damn I was getting excited until your last sentence. Good to know though. Think I will send a quick pm to Justin to see if he can help. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
  4. Well the rehaut does actually need smoothing out a little as it covers the outer portion of the dial track a bit too much. Doesn't need much though, just a little. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
  5. Yeah, the dial was slightly off centre in my case as well. I know I can shave down the rehaut to provide a better dial 'window' but its the underside of the rehaut that will need careful consideration. I will have to think about this a bit more.
  6. Yeah I know, he's such an in demand chap I wanted to explore some other possibilities before I got in contact with him. I might explore some contact at hf.com first. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
  7. My only issue with modifying only the rehaut is that it would mean the movement being a fraction of a mm higher in the case, which might pose isses with the stem height. It's not the rehaut solely, but that underneath there is the lip for the MBW dial to sit on, and it's not wide enough for the Ingod dial. Sorting the rehaut would deal with the dial opening on the rehaut side, but not on the movement side.
  8. In the process of modding this for someone and have come upon a stumbling block of the dial opening being smaller than the dial. Now had I a lathe this wouldn't be an issue, but I don't, so it is. For those interested in the full build pics: http://imgur.com/a/BOtpe So I'm looking for solutions. 1: New case - not good, MBW case is pretty awesome, plus it's aged, trimmed, waterproofed, re-tapped and countersunk for gen crown/tube 2: Machine case to fit dial - I can't do this so it would have to go to someone who can - I don't know any machinist except for Justin 3: Find new dial - I don't think we will find a dial as small as 26mm unless we use original MBK dial which is red sub 4: Make dial smaller - done this once before, result wasn't elegant but it worked. But working by hand is risky especially on a more expensive dial. Any advice? It seems the most elegant solution would be to trim down the rehaut angle thus giving the extra 0.5mm needed to make the dial look centered and like it fits the case. Then useing a lathe trim the inner portion of the dial opening until the ingod dial fits. Anyone done anything like this? Cheers. B.
  9. It was a cartel 5512 with Yuki dial and hands. Clark bezel and T19 dome crystal. I'm actually changing it up this time off. Have a gen 703 crown, black insert, gen nickel plated 2836, roulette datewheel, yuki rotor and the patina black dial and hand set from Yuki. Also got JMB to engrave the caseback.
  10. There's a good chance it wasn't factory made but I liked it.
  11. Was q thick domestos bleach used neat. Was more like a gel than a liquid Sent from my HTC Desire S
  12. Red centre seconds was taken from a gen reference shot. A yuki bracelet is worth more than the cost of a lot if the earlier builds. Sent from my HTC Desire S
  13. Yeah, what about datewheels etc? I'm talking about using this movement with Yuki dial/hands and getting vintage datewheels and using it in a vintage rep (despite the innacuracy). Just to get the gen function cosmetically.
  14. Thanks guys. Just household bleach for the inserts. Apart from the Blue Tudor sub all of these builds were either sold on long ago, or were customer pieces I'm afraid.
  15. Hmm, I just realised that I don't really post over here a huge amount. After discovering reps in Jan '11 I migrated over to RWI where I'm now the moderator of the Rolex section (god knows why!). Anyway, I know some of you are over there as well as here but I thought I'd share the builds that I started with, and some of my recent ones as well. Hope you like them. My first ever modded watch was a Narikaa 1016 without lugholes. Broke my first 21j movement, replaced it and moved it on. Up next was my first 1680. Again, cheap build, Silix base watch. My first GMT Back to the 1680 My first No-CG build 6536 My 'Ghost' dial and bezel 1675 A sort of 6538/6200 hybrid A 6538 Uhm a bit of an experiment. Mil spec 6538 with red seconds hand an milsub caseback. And again, but a little less 'battered' Bit of an accidental dial effect. Never been able to replicate it again. A 5513 for a change A 1655, first time I'd drilled out lug holes and modified bracelets. Yuki dialed tudor snowflake Another 1680 for a customer Classic bond sub And finally a 1655 Explorer II with gen crown. And these are just the ones that I've kept listed, im sure there are another 10+ that I've done and not kept a log of.
  16. Quick question on shaving down the crown height. Do you need to modify the tube as well?
  17. Hmm, accuracy aside, could you use this 3135 clone in a vintage rep and use the gen spec dial and hands that yuki sells? The thought of messing about with removing dial feet and sourcing matching hand sets with eta fitment has always been a bit of a detractor for spending that much on their dials. How about datewheel fitment etc?
  18. Well that's good news If I wasn't sitting down i'd be hopping from foot to foot in anticipation.
  19. sweet baby jesus that looks awesome. Time to start selling some pieces to make room + cash. Where will these ship from btw? UK customs is being proper horrible at the moment with reps.
  20. I'm really interested in these case sets. How limited of a run are you going to be doing? Or will you just continue to run them as needed? Also there's some real issues with UK customs at the moment, are these sets going to ship as parts or as assembled watches? Some really awesome work done here though. I'd be in for 1 x 5514, 1 x 1655 and 1 x 1680 if they get done.
  21. Yes they are gen, been around a long time.
  22. When you say 'new GV crystal' can you elaborate?
  23. Cool, thanks matt
  24. The end of the springbars are 1.2mm, so I use a 1.25mm drill bit.
