Merry Christmas to you as well Neil! Get well soon!

I gave my soon-to-be-brother-in-law a GEN IWC GST. HE LOVES IT. But then again... he's an up-and-coming watch guy. HauteHippie and I are on the same level... I cringe when my family members and friends ask my why I'm not wearing my GEN Yachtmaster instead of wearing my GEN IWC. They've never heard of IWC and Rolex spends more advertising $$$ than anyone else, so Rolex MUST be better, right? hah I also feel like HauteHippie is right on... and would like to amend the Rolex as my FIRST choice for a college grad. No need to blow him out of the water right away... get him hooked on something simple like a Rollie... and if his aspirations and education take him further... let him go to bigger and better things.... Or.. he can find this board. ;-) And on the subject of the SD... I gave my friend a rep SD and he gets more looks @ work than all the guys with GEN Subs. Go figure.

I was fortunate enough to get mine with (2) Watch Boy's Gator straps, a GEN Panerai Tan Calf, and a nice looking rep Rubber strap. I'm well on my way. -sigh-
-
I hate you. All of you. When I first joined this board I didn't get it. Panerai? Yuck. Then I browsed, looked, browsed some more. Hmph. Ultimately, I blame the guy I ran into with the GEN Black Seal. I think that pushed me over the edge. My two PAMS arrived this morning from AZmindreader. (well packaged and exactly as advertised, might I add) I hate you all. not really. Happy Holidays!

Thank you very much Sash! I express the same sentiment to you and your family as well. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all!

Maurice LaCroix... hands down. Some of the classiest, most affordable timepieces I've seen in a mall boutique. Blows and Rolex out of the water IMHO. Second choice would be a Rolex Explorer I. Simple, clean, and goes with everything. Third choice would be an Omega Aquaterra in black... same thing as the Rolex.... clean, simple, works with everything.

F*cked Up My Watch During Gen-tube Insertion

Joe is the man! Good luck tonight buddy! -
Patience, as they say, is a kingly virtue. Well said bbob. And I agree. And I've got patience on all the boards, but... I have no patience for ignorant people.... I don't mind stupid people, they can't help it. There's simply no excuse for ignorance. Happy Holidays all!

My recent posting in a " For sale " thread and it's involvement with Two Tone got me thinking. I'm the " new guy " as of such here on RWG, RWI, and RC... mainly b/c I'm a hands on guy, but I dont' have the knowledge or the manual dexterity to work on watches. hah So I've been playing the lurking role, reading, learning, and absorbing. To be honest, the place seems somewhat harsh at first, as it would to all noobs. Asking simple questions usually results in a " use the search! " response. Aren't we all guilty of wanting instant gratification? And then I though back to the boards I've been a member of for many years... a close knit group, of local or semi-local guys and gals. And I realized that I am THAT guy on our boards. Always telling a noob to STFU or to SEARCH. Oh the irony. So what I'm trying to say is... I love this place. It's simply remarkable the amount of passion, caring, and information we have for these reps. Even more impressive is the lengths that some would go to defend the trust and integrity of these boards as well. I cite Two Tone as an example, in the sale thread I referenced at the beginning of this thread. He takes caveat emptor with a grain of salt and goes above and beyond to lookout for the buyer. Remarkable. I can honestly tell you that we have the most throrough, precise, and detailed group of people as a resource and more importantly, as a family. Thank you to all of you for allowing me to be a member. When my credit card cools off, I'll finally donate to the board! ha ha ha Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! May God bless you and your familys, and I hope it's a wonderful time of the year for all of us! My best to you all!

Name The 1st Ever Luxurious Swiss/german Gen Watch You Got!
millwright replied to trinsic's topic in General Discussion
My first gen was in 1992, and it was a simple Rolex Datejust. I sold it to pay for some school funding. I miss that watch. -
All three of my Gen Breitlings (Super Avenger, Flying B, Navitimer) are DOUBLE AR coated. HTH.
-
Never on any of my reps, but some pretty knowledgeable people have insisted that my GEN Super Avenger is a fake, on the reasoning that it's just too big. Hah.
-
Certainly NOT picking on Offshore b/c (well.... he's a mod, and he makes a good point...) But on a lighter note.... Does anyone else seen the irony in the title of his thread? (given that this IS a rep board and all...) heh Happy Holidays everyone! (PS I'm one of those blokes interested in bags for the lady/better half)

My Hermes Birkin, Out Of The Box Experience
millwright replied to sashwatch's topic in General Discussion
Thanks to my girl I know the people at the local Coach boutique VERY well. I got her (yet another) a Coach Chelsea bag with the pebble grain and they vetoed the cleaner. Said that it would break down the pebble grain and make it look smooth. Gave the go ahead for the mositurizer though. -
You think so? Thanks! Any other thoughts?
-
I don't see one on the Trusty Time site with a nickel plated ETA?
-
What do you guys think of this one?
-
Well dang. I thought it looked halfway decent.

25 views, no replies? Come on guys!

From the pictures shown on the website, the Silix Prime Yachtmaster looks DAMN good. Anybody got one that they can comment on? I'm referring to the Rolesium model. They even have a dcorated movement! Thanks!

You must have some sort of correspondence between yourself and him. Be it his contact info (phone number or email) or his Craigslist logged IP, you've got a way to track him down. I would contact the Secret Service and the Department of Treasury and see what they have to say. They don't take this stuff lightly. Best of luck to you!

So sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers.
