  1. If it helps at all, I thought the same thing you did and got ready to pull the trigger... I have the GEN, and I wanted to compare side-by-side. LMAO. We're all human.
  2. Well BT, one would hope so.... This is the text directly under the last picture. (The above picture is the actual picture of an authentic Rolex Yacht-Master 16622 we bought for our 2008 Rolex Yacht-Master 16622 Project)
  3. Ken-- My heart goes out to you and your family. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. It is never easy to say goodbye to a loved one. Just remember all the wonderful thoughts and good times... and she will live on in your hearts and memories for eternity. All my best to you my friend. Thousands of miles may separate us, but if you need anything you know how to reach me. Sincerely- J
  4. Thank you for your service! I couldn't have said it better myself! As an individual who HAS taken the life of another, I can promise you that it is NOT pleasant. But knowing what I know and having seen what I have seen.... I can promise you that those of you that are against guns know NOTHING of what true evil and violence is. If you did, you'd understand the concept of being able to defend yourself and why those of us that are pro-gun feel so strongly about it. It's already been stated that you can kill someone with a car, a knife or even a razor. Why no cry for these things to be restricted? I blame the media and the way it sensationalizes everything. Someone said that war has caused the kids these days to be violent. I say bs. The fault there lies with the PARENTING. I grew up shooting guns. I was raised with a shotgun and a rifle on my wall. I went to a HIGH SCHOOL THAT HAD A SHOOTING TEAM. In the ENTIRE HISTORY of that school there was not a SINGLE violent act committed with a gun. There were SEVERAL committed with baseball bats, hockey sticks and cooking knives. Something to think about.
  5. Can't believe I missed this! Happy Belated B-day man!
  6. Sorry guys... I should have specified. The ring that yodap is referring to is what I've lost.
  7. So.... the bezel to my 6.75 fell off today. Somewhere. Somewhere between here and 50 miles from my house. Anybody got any idea where to get a new one? My dealer has been non-responsive. (the timepiece is about 6 months old)
  8. Here's a pic of my GEN for comparison. The old version is WAAAAAAY off. I wonder if they'll offer this w/ a SWISS 7750?
  9. LMAO at all the theories and " Google " research. How many of you have any military experience at all, let alone SF or SPECWAR experience? The US trains and trains with almost every large-scale organization mentioned. Our advantage is clear. We have more money, better technology and an overall better mindset. This is NOT US-brainwashed propaganda either. This is coming from someone that has trained with the best everyone has to offer... and knows what each group has to offer. I respectfully tip my hat to Her Majesty's SAS and the Israeli SF. I've had the pleasure of working with both... and they are by far the most impressive.
  10. If his doesn't work let me know. I've got one I can zip out to you. I'm a few states under you.
  11. The Cockpit I bought my better half: And now the watches! : The new Super Avenger dial. I'm getting one of these! : One of the Bentley's outside. Sorry for the poor picture. Myself and the President of Breitling, Mr. Philippe Bonay.
  12. Sorry for the late update guys. We had a BLAST! Ended up buying a Cockpit for my lady. (no jokes, please) They had every single Breitling available for purchase out so that you could admire them, handle them and try them on! Just walk over, pick it up and put it on. Outside of the dining area, on the boulevard, they had three different models of the new Bentley's. (the CARS) I was admiring the new-for-08 dial Super Avenger when a thin fellow came over and grabbed my wrist. I ended up wearing my Panerai 111H. We engaged in conversation for a few minutes before he introduced himself as the PRESIDENT of Breitling. The most interesting part of the conversation? He was recently hired as the president for Breitling, but he USED to be the president of PANERAI! He commended me on my watch choice and then jokingly pointed at this wrist, saying that he was wearing a boy's sized watch now. Apparently when he got the job he was sent down to the vault to pick out whatever he wanted. He chose a black dial Navitimer with arabic numerals and a black w/white stitch strap. We had a few beers then some cocktails and snagged the food as it was strolled by on various trays. Suprisingly enough, there were quite a few Rolex's, a lot of IWC's and only a few Breitling's on the wrists. Most of the people there were not collectors. They just had a LOT of money. I saw two AP ROO's and quite a few ladies wearing Cartier's. My Panerai was sort of snubbed until the guests saw the president trying my 111H on for memories. He even commented on my TWB strap, saying that it was nicer than the Panerai straps! It was a great night. I got the President's card and email. He's going to be in town until this Sunday, so we're going to head out for dinner tonight and talk timepieces. He's a charming guy and much more engaging than most President's of companies that I've met before. He joked that he needed to get back into the gym and asked me how often I trained. A really fun guy. Now for the pictures!
  13. Changed my mind on the timepiece... Think I'll wear my GEN Seiko. See if the president snubs me. Heh. TRUE test of the character of a man. What do you guys think? Got it narrowed down to my 6.75, my Super Avenger or my JLC Master Compressor.
  14. So you know you buy entirely too many GEN Breitlings when you get an invite to have cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and dinner with the president of Breitling USA. They'll be unveiling the new pieces from Baselworld '08 here. It's limited to 100 people, so I should be able to snap quite a few pictures if they'll let me! I'm wearing my GEN 6.75 for this occasion. I contemplated wearing my HBB (b/c it's so damn good) If I can snag some Breitling swag, I'll auction it off and donate the proceeds to the board! Cheers!
  15. Congratulations! Life truly is about living it and interacting with people. Wonderful people like you guys. I've only the pleasure of becoming friends with Ken Burg, but he's a GREAT guy.... I too welcome the day that I may meet any of you off the web.l
  16. Just for you my friend.... I took this one in natural daylight on our red couch... gotta love a 50mm 1.4 A few random shots from around the house and in my rig. I just don't see the Anna Kournikova reference... but she certainly appreciates the compliment! Thanks for all the compliments and the ideas. One poster simply recommended putting clear nail polish over the SS caseback of the Chanel J12.... I kinda like that idea.... anything else? She doesn't like my PAM's (GEN or REP) seeing as how she is TINY. (as in my Rolex pieces look huge on her). Thanks again guys!
  17. You think so? That's a first. The picture that I've posted here is a little deceiving. It was for one of her comp cards a while back. She's only 5'5. I think Ms. Kournikova has her beat... ha ha ha. You don't think a 055 would look too big on her?
  18. I agree completely and I'm willing to spend whatever it takes. The BEST part about her is that she doesn't care for expensive things. She's very down-to-Earth.... she loves football and wings more than I do, and could care less about trendy bags or nice jewelry. She thinks my collection of (gen) Breitlings and Rollies is silly, and wonders why I don't stick to just REPS. Thanks for the ideas.... any reps of these? I know the ceramic Chanel is decent (as mentioned before) but it still has the SS caseback and the bad caseback fitment issues. I only ask for rep suggestions, b/c as mentioned earlier, she doesn't want me to spend a lot of $$$ on it... but I'd like her to have a nice looking watch with a decent swiss movement. Swiss quartz is fine too. Thanks for all the help guys!
  19. We're having lunch right now and she's laughing her ass off. She says thanks for the offer. :-)
  20. I thought about this one also... 1... What about the SS caseback? 2... Didn't someone review it and say that it leaks like a sieve? Can't have a $300+ rep getting ruined. Oh, and thanks to LordRasta.. I don't mind looking at her either!
  21. The better half needs a nicer watch than the Fossil she's rockin'.... The only caveat is that she is allergic to nickel, and thusly, cannot wear anything that is stainless steel. Not even a caseback can make contact. Short of a large PAM on a military strap, does anyone on this wonderful board full of smart, intelligent, innovative people have ANY ideas? I've included a pic of her for motivation. Please note that any jewelry you see her wearing is either platinum or white gold. Not exactly cheap. I have no hopes or desires to pay for a rep of that nature... if I'm going to spend that much, I'll go GEN. Thanks!
  22. FWIW I LOVE my TT Navi on strap + deployment. I have another GEN calf strap and GEN deployment for sale if you're interested.
  23. I stand corrected then. Still doesn't change my views of how he looks at things. If I'm wrong he's welcome to correct me as I wish him no ill intent nor am I the least bit upset. This is an academic arguement, nothing more. His views seem NARROW. I understand where he's coming from and I agree on some points... but he's simply unwilling to perceive anything from our (pro-gun) points. At least, that's the way it seems... I'm hoping we can open up to a friendly discussion, minus the typical-TTK rants and insults. It's easy to discern that he's an intelligent person with good points, but it's hard to respect what he has to say when he starts attacking you personally. I think we can all agree on that. Consider this my extension of the truce flag to TTK, in hopes that we can further this discussion without ill-will, malice, or silly arguement.
