  1. Regardless the look (don't like the trip lock ring either, nor those bulky cg's), it is probably the most professional diving watch rolex ever made. And lets be honest, Rolex needs to move on. They have always done research and advancements. Of course it was just a matter of time until they redo their sportslines. This is going to be a huge success for Rolex, I am sure.
  2. Very wise and thoughtful comment. Thank you. Anyway, I don't think Rolex has reference information going back almost 30 years. Maybe you could find out with the reference number when you can spot the release month with it. Keep in mind that a lot of "reds" were transfered into "whites" during service without asking their owners. so if that happend to your watch, a switch back wouldn't be bad at all for 18 grands, right?
  3. Thanks mate for another remarkable write-up. You have examined this piece very thoroughgoingly and this review should definately be linked to the Omega guide, imo. One thing though: the colour of the hands on the SMP chrono varies on genuine batches as well... ;-)
  4. Just placed my order on a black one. Expect a full test, soon...
  5. Indeed, you know how to take pictures my friend! The quartz version is the better choice of a replica on this model anyway, imo.
  6. Welcome Jon. It's a good place with wonderful people. Take your time to look around and educate yourself on watches. CHeers!
  7. As promised, I will try as hard as I can to support you on this bro. Also have some other ideas how to bring more live to the supporters area...
  8. Omega 600 PloProf for me, please. Thanks.
  9. Not true, I'm afraid. SWAT is a name given to any "special weapons and tactics" team in the US. In Germany SEK is like SWAT and they get kicked their a**es badly on any competition vs GSG9 as well. And if it gets serious, SWATs will call for the HRT, a unit similar to the GSG9 - but with much worse reputation. (They should've allowed Deltas to work inside US, btw.) GSG9 simply beats em all on world competitions. Sorry.
  10. My vote goes to the SAS, 1st SFOD-D for military assignments and to the GSG9 for police assignments. The GSG9 wins almost any competition vs other SWAT teams around the globe each year, btw.
  11. Usually I am too busy checking out the watch to get an empty feeling. I try to find out what makes this watch special and the history of this model-line or brand. I think about how to make the story a fitting train of thought and what pictures could suit it. I test it and maybe start to modify it. It's all part of my hobby - just buying a replica is the smallest part of it for me, to be honest. Try it out yourself and you will see how the watch grows on you even more and more. The watches I have tested and invested time and effort into are the ones I like most. Cheers!
  12. Happy Brthday W! Hope you have a great day!
  13. Not genuine cartier, but looking good: http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=157342 Cheers mate.
  14. I love mine, but I removed the stupid sticker on top.
  15. My input: http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1989 (asia version)
  16. Thank you all guys for your nice words! I simply love being a part of this community. Takashi told me he asked his dealer for a better clasp. As soon as he got it I will update this test. Right now I am moving to a new home in a different city so I might not be able to work on the chronograph test as I would like - I have studies to do as well... Hope I will be able to put it up asap so Taka gets his watches back!
  17. Awesome mate! Really enjoyed this. Thanks for educating us and for these beautiful pictures. PS: I just luv those frickin lugholes. So cool. This is how a Rolex toolwatch's supposed to be...
