I just installed a genuine dial onto a 2846 with a TC DW overlay on the date disc.
Rolexaddict once told me he always glues the dial on the dial spacer ring.
I followed his advice and it works pretty good.
As for the datewheel rubbing on the dial - the only chance you have is to get more space between them.
Maybe use dial stickers on the spacer ring to have the dial sit higher. That's at least how I would try to solve the problem.
Since you are in Texas, maybe give JMB a shout. He's very good with stuff like this and also Texas based.
Jackflash,
I like the watch how it is. What I may would do is get a modder to work on the cg's.
Some can also recut a rep crown to look more like a 702 or 700.
Not to sound like an ass, but I personally wouldn't spend cash on the 702. The crown alone costs as much as the case and movement.
Furthermore, there are so many tells on the watch, that the expense of a 702 wouldn't justify the improvement.
If you say its still christmas on your part of the world, then who am I to deny you a copy?
Please pm your email addy and I'll make another WeTransfer round where you can download it.
Best,
Akira
Well the picture of the jubilee from Rafflestime Ken just sent me doesn't look so awful.
I mean, the links are supposed to be great but the coronet on the claps could be better.
Anyhow, I've never been a big fan of the jubilee, so I'll get Ken's first to try out the look and if I like it, I'll get a gen afterwards.
Thanks for your input though! Much appreciated!
Hi guys,
in the middle of a 1601 Franken build.
Unfortunately the 78360 is out of my budget atm, I was wondering whether or not I should go for a gen jubilee.
Are there any good aftermarket ones?
The search function is still not working for me, therefore I haven't found any helpful threads.
Hope you guys can shed some light.
Thanks,
Akira
A TV and mountain bike are often manufactured by multi-billion-dollar corporates with a clear
statement of quality, service and return policy. Also you get them from a licensed seller nearby with a full-time service in case something goes wrong.
That's not the same then buying from a criminal dealing with illegal goods, which were obtained in a sweatshop miles away from your own location.
Relying on reputation in this trade is for naive people. Just because those dealers don't scam you doesn't mean they aren't trying to
slip in a few lemons from time to time.
Well, look at it this way:
Imagine all the people buying from Andrew in a week.
Now imagine of all the threads being started in said week on all rep boards combined.
Now imagine how much time it would take to search through all the threads and then match the posted QC picture to the buyer (who might or might not have shared his username).
Whether or not you post the QC pics is simply depending on your good will to honor Andrews terms.
That's about it...
Thanks for the info guys.
The thing is my dial has quite a lot of patina. I'd like to relume the hands, also the gen case has some sign of wear too.
I'm using an old style 600 crown, so nothing looks like service but the DW...
Isn't there an old style DW available like I have on my 1675 with Dg movement.
