  1. Love the watch. By the way Cornerstone: Long live Jet Mid!
  2. Someone this weekend offered me his Suunto watch for my 3717. Utter insanity!!!
  3. Another couple of crappy carelessly taken pics from this afternoon. Yes, the 1675's date is incorrect, but I can assure you that the pics were taken today, not on the 15th. The theme this time 'round is "Straps" or "Oysterless Fun". We all know that these vintage sports models are meant to be worn with their respective bracelets, but... Did you know that in the 1960s, Rolex sold Submariners with the option of choosing between the Oyster bracelet or a genuine Tropic Diver strap? I would assume that you already knew that there are lots of folks who've been spotted wearing vintage Daytonas with leather straps (Mr. Popcorn Salad Dressing not included). It all makes sense when u can marry a fine thick substantial yet elegant strap with a vintage Daytona. They simply are meant for one another. Hey, the bracelet looks great, but so does fine leather! If I wear leather with the 1675, it is almost always a grainy leather Nato strap that is not featured in these pics. Oh well, the perforated strap shown here looks and feels real nice too. Especially on a warm day. So, in ode to the 3 or 4 people in the world who decided to for-go the Oyster bracelet in the late 1960s - these pics are for you!
  4. I took a few pics this afternoon for reference purposes. I suppose that there might be some members here that would be interested in seeing these pics. Oddly enough, both watches are from '66-'67. As u can see, one is thicker than the other. Actually, the 5513 is significantly thicker. The 1675 is sleek and contoured to fit the wrist. The 5513 is like a tank, thick, and much more bulky than the 1675. They are not very similar to one another. And, of course, they were designed with different purposes in mind. Enjoy...
  5. Hktan makes excellent straps. And he will make you strap to any spec that u request.
  6. I got one, too! A black one with the brown case. Not a bad camera (noisy over 100 ISO), I like the 16x9 aspect ratio. Wish it had a viewfinder.
  7. There will always be a debate between Canon & Nikon folks... That's why oftentimes I shoot medium format or use Leica Anyhow, some comments: The D200 is superbly made. It is clearly one of the best D-SLRs u can get right now. It is way overpriced (buck up & get a 5D instead). And Canon makes better lenses. To me, in the end, it's all about the glass. I have spent 17+ years using both systems professionally. My mom, a fashion photographer used Nikon her whole life. The XTi is the better bang for your buck. The quality of the images are superb - especially with good glass attached to it. I have used both cameras extensively, dollar per dollar, the XTi wins in my book. But u got to get the battery grip, since the XTi alone is so small. Again, just my opinon - no offense to the diehard Nikon fans
  8. I like the Goose, Belvedere, Vox & Level. Anytime, anyplace
  9. I started off this week unable to pick a watch "with satisfaction". I kept trying on a few watches before I settled for the 6265. It has been a while since I've worn it; and the Valjoux 72 needs a little exercise. Small but sweet!
  10. Sorry to hear the crappy news. Just ask the maid what time it is.
  11. Too many people here in Hollywood-land. So many in fact, that I wear other watches most of the time instead of PAMs.
  12. I wish someone would make the 1st incarnation Milgauss rep again... What I mean is, I hope MBW makes one.
  13. I have a kevlar strap that I've had for a few years, I tried i ton my 3717 but it did not do it for me. Maybe it's the shape of the strap, but it seemed like the edge of the strap was so far away from the watchcase that it looked funny to me. Perhaps OEM is the only way to go.
  14. Yeah, I'd like an IWC deployment buckle, too. Actually, I'd like 2 of them.
  15. Yeah, the PAM looks like it's tough enough to be worn on the outside of a spaceship!
  16. Hopefully, there will be a new batch of these coming out soon with good quality movements. And certainly, the smaller Br-03 would be a good idea, too.
  17. I find it quite interesting - but somewhat spooky to actually own.
  18. I forgot to mention that I, too, like Favre-Leuba. I had a few vintage FB dive watches and 1 chrono. Very interesting. I never got a chance to score the FB watch with the built-in pressure gauge. One day
  19. There was some serious & heated discussion about this on some other forum. While it is true that the dial is a large part of the inherent/relative worth of a watch, sadly, the Newman is a tragic tale of hoarding/price-gouging. Unbelievable prices. Shame on the Sultans, Satraps and Mafiosos who bought 99% of them back in the 90s! Oh well, big money makes the world go 'round. Hype only adds to their pile of riches, too. Here's my $30K+ Newman
