  1. Great project, I'm glade the dial worked for you. This reminds me I still have some Omega parts I was going to use a long time ago.
  2. Thank you for the heads up SSSurfer, I checked Ioffer and decided against it. I might be in luck though a member on another board sold me his. No it is just the waiting game until I have the 192 in my hand or better yet on my wrist. Also, I just saw the Radiomir Black Seal Ceramic PAM00292, when they start repping this one it will be my next buy.
  3. Looks great, once I'm done moving I'll have to sent you my SMP chrono for some re-lume love. Toni
  4. Wow, just came across this thread by accident. So I'm German, married to a Swede, we live on the West Coast and are in the process of moving to the East Coast. Almost forgot to mention, we just bought a house in Sweden in which my father in law now resides. So it is time for me to learn Swedish so I can read all the things you said in the rest of the thread. Peace, Toni
  5. I took a look at the 253 and the 212, and they are pretty nice, but I think I liked the 192 for the dial breakup with the sub dials and the blue hands. Also, the color of the titanium with the SS bezel looked different. I also like the 172, but then this Pam is the same concept as the 192. Now I'm wondering are the any more Pams in Titanium with blue hands?
  6. That would be my wife in her younger years. Still not really sure how I pulled that one off
  7. A member in another forum sold some of his watch collection a few days ago and he was selling a Panerai 192. I had never seen the 192 before and think this is one of the best Panerai out there. The sub dials break the whole face up nicely and the blue hands give the watch a certain mystic. Also the play of the titanium and polished SS looks terrific, especially on the metal band. I'm really more of an OMEGA guy, but have been looking more and more at the Panerais. They have a certain je ne sai quoi, but in an ugly duckling kinda way. Even my wife, who always tells me that the Pams look to simple to liked the look of the 192. The info on the 192 in the forum showed some minor flaws and that there were two versions one in titanium (the earlier version) and the one in SS. To make a long story short the watch was sold before I could make an offer. So I looked around at all our dealers and the dealers at some of the other forums. No one carries the watch anymore and what I have read the watch is out of production. I'm actually surprised that the watch is out of production. So I e-mailed a few of the dealers, still no luck.
  8. Just went to the board statistics main page, what am I locking for?
  9. Still deciding between this one or this one will see when I leave the house
  10. Thank you for the quick response, I thought there might be issues with the fit in the rep case. I'll stay a way from this project for a while.
  11. I understand that part, but what about the quartz movement? Are they ETA based and if yes, which one is the omega equivalent?
  12. I just received my SMP chrono and it is a great watch. The only thing that was way off is the bezel insert. So reading through the several forums it was suggested that the bezel on this watch is very tide and wont come off. One post suggested to use a hairdryer to heat up the contact cement under the bezel and then just slide the insert to the right position. I didn't think that using a hairdryer to heat up the bezel would be a good idea. Some of the plastic parts might not agree with the heat also it might built up tension on the crystal and crack. I set the watch for five minutes in the sun by the window and that did the trick. Just hold the watch with both hands and moved the bezel insert to the right position by working it with your thumbs. All in all that took 5 minutes. hope this helps, Toni
  13. Through a rookie mistake I ended up with the dial for a SMP 2541.80. Now I was wondering if the Omega quartz movements are also based on ETA movements? If yes, which one will fit the 2541.80, and would that movement fit into a case that takes an ETA 2824. Not an automatic, but as the first Bond it should be a good daily better down the line. Thanks for any help
  14. I figured that, but I thought since you got the dial you might also have found a source for the bezel insert. I saw a few on the bay, but they looked marginal at best with the pearl way off.
  15. That's not good, I just bought the same dial to put into my SMP with a 2824-2 movement. This would really bite since I just made the a rookie mistake of buying a SMP 2541 quartz dial for an other SMP project. By the way chieftang, where did you find a good bezel insert for the 2255.80?
  16. I know I left my self open for some bad jokes here, but please help. Thought it would be a good idea to upgrade my SMP to a gen. dial. This is were things started going wrong. Since I have never worked on watches I thought it would be a good idea to buy a used dial of the bay first and practice. Well, total rookie mistake I bought a SMP 2541 dial to put into a 2531. So I now have a quartz dial (thanks to everyone who helped me figuring this out http://replica-watch.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18934 ) . So now I start putting the watch back together and for some reason I'm unable to get the stem back right into the movement (ETA2892-a2). Hopefully I didn't break the movement. I followed the instructions found here: http://replica-watch.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6563 . This sounded a little touchy, I tried it anyways. Do I have to hold the stem release when I put the stem back in? This is how I have tried it so far. Also, I have move the watch a bit, and the movement started running again. Is that normal with the stem out? On a good note, I made my first pearl, and that worked out pretty well for a rookie move. One last thing, now that I have a SMP quartz dial and I have an spare SMP case here what kind of quartz movement would fit with this dial and where can I get one. Thank you for any help, Toni
  17. This one after my morning work out:
  18. That Seamaster 300 looks great. I just don't know enough about Rolex to really appriciate your collection, but it looks great anyways. Toni
  19. Back to the black SMP after wearing the PO all week long.
  20. As usual By-Tor your photo is outstanding. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the bracelet from and does it have pins or screws? Toni
  21. Looks sweet. I might have to get a panny
