  1. Likewise. This is my first rep purchase in 2 years and will be the only rep I own at the moment. Until the 187 comes out.
  2. No, just the difference between rep and gen crowns on the BP. My BP rep crown never looked like that.
  3. He had a B&R ltd a month ago that I'm sure is a rep, but the IWC was gen for sure unless it was modded. The crown was a thing of beauty.
  4. I guess that makes more sense as a combo than a chrono. It was pretty awesome. He complimented me on the Ted Su dive strap on my Pam 025 and I asked him if he had a Panerai. He answered, "Several."
  5. A client came in today wearing a Big Pilot today I've never seen and I can't find online. Did they ever make a chrono with a moonphase? After searching online, now I'm questioning if there were pushers. I thought there were and definitely subdials and moonphase.
  6. Look at the gen on top of rep pic on page one. The inside line on the CGs are sharp and dead straight in relation to the crown. The rep has softer corners and the lines aren't parallel. They sort of project away from the crown. It's exactly the same issue with the BR03. This is why I switched to gens. I won't mod and I can't stop looking at this tiny detail.
  7. I struggle with the internal line of the CG. It's the same issue with the BR03 series. The line just isn't as sharp and straight as the gen. This tiny thing makes me nuts. I love the Santos though and may buy this rep anyway.
  8. My EL 187 was the first watch my wife stopped and said "Wow, I love it!" I lost 2 markers, couldn't find any so I sold it to another member. Maybe my favorite rep ever.
  9. Has anyone experienced watches stopping or losing lots of time while on their wrists but operating perfectly when sitting in the box? I am having the issue with an automatic ETA and a 6497. I've never had this problem before but one of the watches was check and rechecked and the maker said there was nothing wrong with it. He replaced the 6497 mvmnt anyway at my insistence. BTW, both are gens.
  10. No offense, that is a fantasy (or nightmare) rep. If the dealers here don't sell it, it's unlikely you want it. That particular watch is not in the universe of a real Panerai.
  11. Thanks! It took a while to find the Glycine. They don't come up on TZ or WUS too often, so if you want one, snap the next one up. I think there was one listed last week. I have to say it's a great watch with massive wrist presence. I get the most comments on that and the Anonimo.
  12. You'll love it. Actual footage of Alex telling his parents he's quitting school. Check iTunes, they have it in Canada for download.
  13. All gens. Just noticed the Anonimo is upside down. Amazing watch BTW. BTW, have you seen the Rush documentary yet? Amazing really old footage and great film overall.
  14. I started like many of us, getting spammed by fake Rolex ads etc and doing a little digging. Up until then I was a Fossil/ Diesel wearer, and thankfully I found the original RWG before I bought from the scammers. I discovered Panerai, and never did buy a Rolex rep. My first was the terrible first gen 024 with the razor thing crown. Then the good stuff. I won't go into all the models I ended up acquiring, but I had around 20 Pannies, a few Breits and a B&R. I have since sold or given away all my reps and I started buying gens or homages (RXWs and a Debaufre) Oddly enough, the addiction has only gotten worse since buying gens, and I've realized once you crack through a price barrier, all of a sudden you see yourself looking at watches you can't afford but start buying anyway. I am a prefect example of why gen companies shouldn't worry too much about our hobby. I am not against buying more reps and I visit here almost daily, it's just that nothing really speaks to me right now. I don't mod so I need that near-perfect out of the box experience. The rep Graham Swordfish is one I keep eyeing, among a few others. The issue is you when guys review these watches and I pay more attention to the minor flaws rather than how close they got it. On to my collection:
  15. Too true. With the crown thing, my wife phoned me at work just before she took pliers to the crown on her gen Aquaterra. I have probably walked her through setting the watch and screwing in the crown at least 6 times. I still have to do it for her;.
  16. Is it me, or does it appear she struggles with the screw-down crown? I know my wife does. I guess moisture in the movement aint no thing with her $$$
  17. I have mine as of Wednesday. The strap is regular leather (pretty poor quality as well.) I got number 47/50 so if they are selling numerically, better make a move. Aside, I wear a ton of different watches like all of us, and I sometimes get a comment. I got 3 comments on this one in the 3 hours I was at work with it, all from strangers. It really is impressive.
  18. I just got mine, 47 of 50. I'm thinking of sending it out for black superlume. Opinions? Also, this pic looks like a screw down crown. Mine isn't. Makes me wary of water but relief about the threads, unlike my MM25.
  19. Had a client walk in with a gen all black HBB today. The chrono hand did this crazy jumping movement, the bezel was rubbery and it was easily 46mm. Maybe the hottest watch I've ever held. Last week he was wearing a B&R Phantom. His collection is sick. He won't tell me what he does for a living.
  20. Just got this in, I love it. My crap pic doesn't do it justice but it is a great strap for summer. I also got his dive buckle and strap, which is nice but not so comfortable, and hard to put on and adjust. He has a site and posts on TZ.

  22. I have my gen 111 on rep rubber as well as my gen Skyland on rep Hershey. I didn't feel like ruining the gen Pam, and was too cheap to get the gen Hershey.
  23. $3900 PP'd and shipped. Came with a Heroic 2 watch travel case, a new Panatime gator strap and deployant and a pack of Cape Cods. I would rate the watch at 98%, as the watch looks new save for a tiny strap change scar and the OEM straps are virgin. I immediately put it on a BOB until I get something special. I'm thinking big, gnarly croc.
