  1. No worries TJ, I have a pannie with the purple coat and I have reps that are supposed to have very good AR. The best way to describe it is that the crystals I have had recoated (Chieftang) the dials look black as if the crystal is not there. If you look at the above photo the two in the middle have been recoated and the one on the left (063) has no AR and the one on the right (PO) has what is said to be one of the better AR coats. I understand what you are saying about the AR greatly reducing reflections and a light source directly reflected will always be there and no I don't wear glasses but I'll be buggered if I would choose the purple coat on them if I did.
  2. Great collection and shots as always , I only wish I could be as disciplined with my collection.
  3. TJ I have had rep's with the purple coat on the crystal you have described and it is not AR just a purple coat, true AR stops reflections much better and is a must for textured dials.
  4. Wearing this one, some of the markers fell off about 6 months ago, only just fixed it... maybe I have to many watches!
  5. For me it would be my 1665, by no means the most worn watch in my collection but the combination of difficult to find gen parts and doing all the mods myself make it hard to go past. My old, old school omega 007 also with gen parts comes in a close second.

  7. This one today,
  8. Great post Predfan! The only thing I would say is that I have never been a fan of the sticky tape method for installing hands. I use a hollow cotton bud cut in half to position the hand and a hand setting tool to press it on, that way there is no chance of marking or damaging the hand. I have seen some people also use a pen with the ink removed as a hand setting tool.
  9. Congrats Pug I know you been waiting a while!
  10. Sunday is my PVD 111 on a gabo strap!

No reason they cant replicate them cosmetically but the gens have some cool features that they wouldn't be able to reproduce, if I was to ever get a quartz it would be a UX. Maybe Deltatahoe should send his to one of the chinese factories for a 1:1 copy Im sure they could refill the case with rep AR gas afterwards! :cc_chinese: @Pug no one has ever even commented on mine let alone read the dial!
  12. Great post Thanks for taking the time to put it together as I am sure it took a while to do
  13. No wrist shot sorry but had this combo
  14. In the past I tried to order a few parts but the price is prohibitive for such small items, try cousins their shipping rates are much more palatable.
  15. Steaks and beers with my fiddy here! Have a good one!

    Happy birthday!
  17. The Zigmeister I can completely understand where you are coming from, I hope the break is temporary one and your back sooner than later. Merry Christmas
  18. Thanks Chief  actually one of the crystals sent in for AR are off another bezel for this one!
  19. Maybe send it to Tourby to get keyless works cover and gears blued?
  20. Thanks the blued keyless works cover, ratchet and crown gear are my favourite parts. Yea it is a Maurice Lacroix movement sourced from a ML pocket watch, as for the price it is probably best to PM Tourby but lets just say it was a lot less than a ML. Jacques Etoile also makes one with the same movements. And a couple more shots,
  21. Thanks guys it is even nicer in the flesh as I'm sure Chris could attest. Spent most of the day looking at it but not really taking any notice of the time! Very happy with this strap combo as well, matches lovely with the hands and keyless works cover. @ jkarpas, I think Tourby maybe out of this movement now as he only had a few, best to probably PM him for his price list
  22. Nice collection You have a nice balance between sport and dressier pieces, congrats.
  23. As someone who has been intrigued with mechanical watch movements since I was a kid it was only a matter of time before I added a skeleton to my collection. Tourby was great to deal with and it was a very easy transaction, he even had the ratchet and crown wheels blued at my request. It may not be to everyone's taste but I could watch it go all day!
  24. I have always thought you had exquisite taste Chris Mine arrived yesterday and I cant stop watching it tick!
