  1. Almost pulled the trigger...until I realized The Zigmeister won't work on these movements. For $348, this is no throw away watch. If it breaks, I want it to be fixable. If The Zigmeister won't work on it, that's the deal breaker for me!!
  2. Good deal. I rely heavily on your technical posts. Pretty much everything I've learned about movements has come straight from you...Thanks a bunch!! Mike
  3. Isn't that the same price as the non-PVD version...or $10 less than SFSO? I agree that prices in general for these watches are getting a little steep, but this one doesn't seem to be abnormally high compared to similar watches.
  4. http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...roducts_id=3784 I think I like it!! Description says: BRACELET: Solid 316L Stainless Steel New Version Rolesor Bracelet But all pics show it on a NATO.
  5. Nice movement...but you'd think for this kind of money he could machine a longer swan neck fine adjust screw.
  6. Jenever, First of all, welcome and I hope you enjoy your watch. Second of all, NEVER file a paypal dispute without talking to the seller first. This should only be used as a last resort (if even then) and only if it is an absolute scam. Remember you are purchasing a counterfeit item and must assume some risk on your part. This only leads to sellers accounts being frozen and, in turn, them not accepting paypal as a method of payment. It's also kind of hard for the seller to defend themselves trying to explain that they hid a XXXXXXXXX so that customs wouldn't seize the watch. OK...Scolding over...live and learn...and enjoy that watch. EDIT add - I knew some of our members wouldn't be too kind to you, but you have to understand why. It's stuff like this that puts our hobby at risk.
  7. No worries bruddah...Good to know...I look forward to the review.
  8. Great shots Lani!! I realize the tight macro shots show all the warts not normally seen with the naked eye, but that dial looks kind of sloppy in some places, most notable around 1:00. It seems there is some glue squeeze out under the marker and maybe some lume splatter (?) on the dial. How does it look in person?
  9. Here you go Lani...The best of both worlds... Kona Brewing Co. Pipeline Porter Leave it to the consistently great Kona Brewing Co. to combine two of our favorites: coffee and beer. Their new Limited Release Pipeline Porter is made from a blend of diverse premium malted barley and freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee. The result is a highly-drinkable brew with a dark appearance and ever-so-smooth finish that goes as well with a hearty meal as it does by itself.
  10. Great job Lani (and Freddy)...Thanks!! I was all set to order one from BK because he straightens out the date wheel as good as possible if it's not straight from the factory, but he told me his supplier was out for now. Now I have to decide if I'm going to order from Josh or Andrew and risk a misaligned date wheel, or wait for BK. The only Rolex rep I've ever gotten with a date wheel that has all the dates centered in the date window is the SSD I got from Andrew in November of last year (the watch I wear most of all my reps). That includes a few 21j Asian noobs, a 25j swiss noob, and even a WM9 sub from PT.
  11. Absofrickinlutely!!! Couldn't have said it better Lani. Count me in for whatever you guys decide to do for the caretakers of this wonderful place.
  12. I got the gray, but after looking over old pix again, I'm having second thoughts...I think I'll stop looking.
  13. Thanks yo. I did this morning. Just making sure I bought the right one. Thanks
  14. Like the one that Peter of watchstation sells. Is this correct?
  15. Well, that may have just done it for me...Time to PM BK.
  16. I hear ya...If I could convince my bosses to let me work remotely, I'd be right there with you.
  17. If you are ever on the big island in the near future, there is a Rolex store in the King Shops at Waikoloa that has several models on display in outside windows that are not visible from the inside. Most are on the side of the store where there is very little foot traffic. My son and I stood there for about 15 minutes comparing my SSD to a gen just inches away without ever having to deal with a salesman. I wish we had a store like that here in Denver.
  18. Welcome hks. The search engine is your friend. Do a search on "V CG" and "T-48 crown". You'll find your answers.
  19. Makes sense to me...Thanks again for the post...I can't wait for your full review and other pics.
  20. I tend to agree with you. As close as they get these things, they could nail them if they really wanted to. I've been doing the PAM thing lately and when you look at some of the projects that members of this and other boards undertake; projects like V CGs, T crowns, FGD and Little Hero Dials (and many others) and how close the actually come to 1:1, you wonder why the rep factories can't do as well. Anyway, I'm glad you think it's hardly noticeable...I may have to get one.
  21. Actually Lani, When I spoke of the rehaut engraving, I was talking of the "ORIGINAL GAS ESCAPE VALVE" and "RING LOCK SYSTEM" engraving on the top of the rehaut. This pic kind of shows what I'm talking about. It looks like the engraving is too far toward the outer edge. It seems like most of the straight on shots I've seen of GENs shows all the engraving unobstructed, but in most of pics I've seen of this version of the REP from the same angle, you don't see 100% of the engraving...I don't know if I'm explaining this very well...Am I making any sense? Maybe it's just me...I don't know.
  22. Nice work as usual Lani. The watch looks very nice and I may get one, but something just doesn't look right with the printing on the rehaut. It's not just these pics, I've thought that on all the pics I've seen of this watch.
