  1. Nice shot...You don't know how tempted I am to take a shot of my ass and post it as "My moon shot" My wife keeps telling me I need to grow up.
  2. Hey Demsey, I'm really sorry to hear you were treated like this. It just goes to show you that there are assholes all over the world. But don't think that just because one small group of Hawaiians treated you like this that they are all the same. My brother lived in Hawaii for most of this decade. I have spent lots of time on the big island visiting him and I can tell you that some of the nicest, funniest and most gracious people I have met in my life were native Hawaiians that I met through my brother. I have been welcomed into their homes and shown many "locals only" spots on that island...And I'm as Howlie as Howlie comes. I don't know if things have changed a lot in the last 15 years since you had your terrible experience, but my wife and I have felt so welcome there that we hope to make it our home someday. Mike
  3. Thank you both...He is fortunate enough to have a good looking mother...cuz he certainly doesn't get that from Dad!!
  4. Great choice for a first rep. Mine is a year and a half old and I still wear it often. Welcome!!
  5. Thanks...I also have a 200 f/2.8 L, but the lens I used for those other shots (except the A-Bay sunset) is the Canon 50 f/1.4 prime. I also the 100 f/2 prime. Those lenses are built exactly like the 200 L and every bit as sharp, but about half the price. Canon really makes awesome midrange primes. I thought about switching to Nikon when the D300 came out because I'm a sport shooter and the Nikon can shoot 8 frames per second vs 6.5 for the Canon 40D I use, but I don't think anyone else can match Canon's glass for quality per dollar.
  6. Great lens...I shoot MLS soccer with that lens on a 40D. About the minimum setup I can get away with for night sport shooting. Good thing the pitch is well lit.
  7. I rotate between these 4. Denver skyline I took and photoshopped in the moon. A fellow DPeviewer added Godzilla and the clouds: My favorite shot from our Big Island Hawaii trip last spring. A-Bay sunset: My all time favorite shot of my little buddy Jake: My recent favorite of Jake:
  8. Good point Toad...With the initial cost of this watch being only $185, I think I can justify sending to the Great White North. Yep...I think it's time to ping the master...
  9. Venting is good Hobbies are supposed to be fun. I sincerely hope this is still fun for you R, because receiving a package from you sure is fun for me
  10. Great info as usual!! Thanks.
  11. Sweet...I guess the odds finally worked in my favor.
  12. I just received a black dial Breitling Skyland v3 rep from Peter at watchstation. The lume dots on the dial aren't bad at all, but what really surprised me is the way the A7750 movement works in this watch. This is the 6th watch I've owned with one of these movements and it has to be, without doubt, the best example of an A7750 I've owned. Not only is the start/stop pusher a little easier to push, but it's the only A7750 I've ever seen that actually switches the minute totalizer subdial when the chrono second hand is at 12:00. All others I've seen have advanced the minute hand 1 to 2 seconds before 12:00. I remember an exchange I had with The Zigmeister asking him if it was normal for the minute hand to advance prematurely like this and he said it is normal for A7750, but on his swiss 7750 it happens right at 12:00. I assumed this was normal and part of the design of the A7750. I even opened the back of the Skyland to make sure the movement is indeed an A7750 , which it is. Has anyone else seen an A7750 run like this?
  13. "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't...hunt it down and kill it!!" EDIT add: And another one I use almost everyday at work: "Screw you guys...I'm goin' home" - Eric Cartman
  14. And just why in God's name would you want to live there?!? OK...I guess it is beautiful country...I'm just partial toward Lani's latitude!!
  15. Thanks Steph...Good to know. Thanks Robbie...I'll check him out.
