  1. Yeah...I guess it suffers from macro syndrome...All looks well until you magnify it 10x Still the best out of the box CGs to date. That movement sure is interesting... ...And you are correct about the crystal. BK uses Clark's crystals on his v2s. I installed one on my WM9 v1 and it transformed the whole watch...Love it!! These new subs are awesome...I get a kick out of comparing my wm9 to my old noob. Remember how accurate we used to think the noobs were?
  2. Sorry to point this out, but is it just me or does the upper crown guard have kind of a "hitch" in it? I've thought I've noticed this on other WM9 v2s. It looks to me like the inside of the upper crown guard has a nice angle to it until it is about hit the case where it drops straight down. How does it look in person? Still a gorgeous watch, just an observation.
  3. Yep...Awesome venue!! I got married there. There is a chapel just outside the Amphitheater. Beautiful place!!!
  4. I saw RUSH with .38 Special at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on March 14 and 15 1980. Me and a bunch of buddies rented a U-Haul truck, got a keg and a bunch of bean bag chairs and drove from Sacramento to SF for the weekend shows. We slept in the back of the U-Haul. It was AWESOME!! BTW - What the hell...is Geddy doing his laundry in the Limelight video?!?!
  5. Yep...She's a beauty alright... Enjoy!!
  6. I'm sorry to hear this Rob...Very sad indeed. My condolences and prayers to all the families and friends.
  7. Thanks R. I've reevaluated my current projects and think you will be seeing this one very soon. BTW - Thanks for the tip on crystal install...I worked out great!! Yep alli...I think it's heading North in May.
  8. Thanks Alli!! Pretty high praise from someone who knows stuff.
  9. Wow chief, that's a purdy watch!! The thing I like most about the end links on my noob are that they fit nice and tight in the WM9 case. If you look closely though, the center of the links are not that crisp. Look at the top pic of the top end link.
  10. The pearl is from Watch Material. Sorry, I don't have a macro lens to take closer pics, but I can tell you that it's the closest thing out there to gen. I have a gen pearl that will eventually end up on this watch as soon as I find a satisfactory insert, and other than a slight color difference (gen is very white and whereas this is kind of yellow), this pearl is pretty damn close to gen. You can do a search on Watch Material to find more info. They're pretty popular around here.
  11. Actually Chief, That's a 2 year old noob bracelet!! It came with the old solid mid link wm9 v1 bracelet. I did put the clasp from the wm9 on the noob bracelet though. And thanks for the complement.
  12. I purchased this watch from a fellow member here. It is PT's ROLEX SUBMARINER 2008 SUPREME EDITION 1:1. When I got it, I was really impressed with the gen like appearance of the case, but upon closer inspection, I noticed the crown guards were covering the crown too much and set out to trim the inside of them. Once I was happy with the inside of the CG, i noticed the upper CG was considerably fatter than the lower!! How does this happen? Also, I noticed that the rehaut was kind of rough with several nicks and the date wheel had 1/2 the numbers too low in the window. Discouraged, I threw it in my watch box and forgot about it. While reading through some of BK threads, I saw a thread where he showed how to trim the outside of a CG that is too thick, so I decided to give it a shot. I also decided to try to clean up the rehaut and install the date wheel from my v1 SSD that had all the dates centered in the window. The CGs took a lot of work, but came out pretty nice I think. The rehaut came out nice as well. I also wasn't too thrilled with the grayish print on the dial and decided to swap the dial with a noob dial I have had laying around for years. I also installed a watch material pearl, Clark's crystal, a noob bracelet, but I kept the wm9 clasp. Chieftang says he still considers the noob dial as the best available (including the wm9 v2). I can't say I disagree. I'm so happy with this watch, I think I'm going to send it to The Zigmeister for movement service and Lume. What do you think?
  13. Then wouldn't a wm9 case be a good solution for the OP's 3035?
  14. Freddy, Do you have a source for the cloth wheels? I haven't been able to find any that are satisfactory. Thanks, Mike
  15. I guess Ween said it best: "Many colors in the homo rainbow Don't be afraid to let your colors shine Many colors in the homo rainbow Show me yours. I'm gonna show you mine" Some say the Gays ruined the rainbow for the rest of us... Why do you think the University of Hawaii sports teams are now known simply as the "Warriors" instead of the "Rainbow Warriors" as they used to be? I have no problem with anyone's sexuality, just a humorous topic to me...
  16. CJ, Check this item on the bay...Don't know what you still need, but I thought I'd throw this out there in case you need these parts: 380108511442 Mike
  17. Good info P4. Do you know if it's silicon based? I use this stuff: I wonder if it's similar. This spray goes on wet but dries is seconds leaving a dry silicon film. It's great on bracelets, but maybe even better on my wm9 sub bezel. Makes for a buttery smooth, slightly resistant, soft clicking bezel movement.
  18. I'd be very interested in 2 overlays 3135 for noob dial and ETA 2836-2!! Thanks, Mike
  19. Looks nice Phoband!! Is that Zebrawood? That's a nice choice. How about purpleheart? My favorite wood for pen making is cocobolo. Fun hobby isn't it?
  20. Hey Brodie...How about trying the sub dial hands again, but not the entire hand, just the "football" (the part surrounding the lume). Oh...And AWESOME job Rob!!
  21. You guess right R...Maybe I can send this along with my appointment in May (UPO) to have you do it? Let me know. Thanks, Mike
  22. I just received a Clark's crystal for my WM9 v1 sub. I'm in the process of installing it but noticed that the gasket on the Clark's is thicker (bigger circumference) than the WM9 stock gasket making the retaining ring a tighter fit. I was able to press the retaining ring on the stock WM9 crystal/gasket by hand, but no way the Clark's will go on that way. Can I just use a press to install it or do I have to mod something? Thanks, Mike
