  1. email Josh or Andrew and ask them if they can sell you an insert. It'll have the same pearl (which isn't that bad IMHO) and it will cost you about $40 if I remember correctly, but they should be willing to sell you one. Mike
  2. This is NOT true for my v3 Skyland. The screws spin freely. Mine is SS, not Black Steel if that makes a difference.
  3. Yeah...I like the flat S too. Decisions, decisions... Thanks all for the input!!
  4. This is what I'm looking for B-T...Thanks. So, I have a wm9 v1 that I bought from an RWG member that is supposed to be (and I believe it is) a PT 1:1 sub. It has the flat S, bad lume dial. I also have a noob dial that I took off my old swiss movement noob sub. The lume is only slightly better on this dial (it still sucks), but the print is much whiter than the print on the wm9 dial. The case on this particular watch was pretty bad when I got it. The top CG, for whatever reason, was much thicker than the bottom CG. I've done a lot of work on these including removing material from the outside of the top CG and re-polishing the side of the case. I also worked a lot on the rehaut which had a lot of marks that I was able to remove. The case looks pretty damn now and I want to send it to The Zigmeister for relume, but I need to know which dial is more accurate. Is it your contention B-T that the v1 (flat S) wm9 dial has the more accurate dial font color? I'd hate to spend the bucks to have Zig relume the noob dial only to find out the original dial was more accurate. It's really hard to tell from pictures, and I'd love to take both dials to an AD and compare, but since that's out of the question, I'm counting on the awesome membership here to help. Thanks, Mike
  5. Damn...This is gonna be hard to resist...Thanks a lot Lani!
  6. Thanks once again alli...I assume you mean bright white rather than grayish white?
  7. HA...I was going to post this too. This is the first thing I thought of when I read this thread topic...Priceless!!
  8. I completely agree. Kind of like a pair of shoes made from the leather limo seat JFK was sitting on when he was assassinated. Or a piece of jewelry made from either the Challenger or Columbia Space Shuttle wreckage.
  9. My SSD and my noob subs (swiss and 21J movements) have all had bright white dial text, but the wm9 (PT's 1:1) that I have has much grayer white text. Which is closer to gen? Thanks, Mike
  10. @spider - The hand set tool is just a rod with a hole in the center used to install hands by pushing them gently into place. @alli - Thanks for the info. @BK - PM sent. Thanks all.
  11. I was swapping the dial and date wheel on my wm9 v1 sub with a noob dial and date wheel and while installing the second hand, my hand set tool (drilled out tooth pick ) slipped and bent the second hand Does anybody know where I might find a modern sub second hand for a swiss ETA 2836-2? Thanks, Mike
  12. Hmmm, I certainly can understand frustration with a party you contracted with to create a product if they don't deliver as expected, but I CAN'T understand a personal attack on a craftsman who is free to decide what services he wishes to offer or not to offer...
  13. Agreed...And wasn't the Rolex Daytona named after and created for the 24 hour race? Imagine trying to read the sub @6 dial when timing laps or a driving stint in the cockpit at 200mhp bouncing down a straightaway.
  14. I was all set to vote, but the threat of the "prize" for picking the winning avi is not worth the risk!!
  15. I haven't seen a rep 113 dial with the different finish subdial yet...nice!! Where did that come from?
  16. Honestly, the first thing that entered my mind when I saw these pics was "Looks like Seiko".
  17. The video of the crash is on youtube, but I can't watch it.
