Not sure if these tools are neccessary for much that other basic tools can't do. Assuming this is authentic it is very cool and seems to be at a great starting price. Good find. Cheers, M

Take off the head, soak the bracelet in some WD-40 in a baggy for an hour, take it out wash throughly with hot water while rubbing with dry shammy cloth. Polish with cape cod cloth and you have a very gen looking and feeling bracelet, there is very little difference between the gen and the rep BCE bracelet. Cheers, M

Breitling Superocean Heritage Wristshots!
rogerthat replied to piratedzeus's topic in The Breitling Area
I am not convinced any second version will be better, likely will be a different factory and have different flaws. I am wearing this watch right now and there aren't really any flaws, the dial is perfect. Lume color maybe off but the actual lume is good, date font not great, date window cutout a little rough, rep strap sucks ; these are all very minor on an otherwise great rep. Certain days the font looks bad others it looks great. The bezel feel is top notch, everything lines up andis very shiny, the AR is nice not great but good double AR on sapphire, with the swiss movement and a gen strap there are hardly any flaws. This is not that complicated a watch as the gen isn't that expensive and the first version rep is as close as reps typically get so I wouldn't hold my breath counting on the 2nd version to be better. Cheers, M -
I have both models, no reason to ask Joshua. The dials are identical, both are off-white. Neither is perfectly accurate to the Gen. I wrote a comparison on the 2 models afew months ago if you search for it, there are a few differences. GT mdel overall is better, but choose the regular GT if you like the morehighly polished look. Cheers, M

Thanks timekeeper. Strap is actually made by Simona. www.simonastraps.com they are pricey but great quality leather. You can smell the quality from accross the room, literally. You will have to ask her to make one in 22/22 size to fit the SFSO. Normally sold at larger sizes for Panerai's. Color: Vintage Tan this one has the flat brushed buckle, they are sewn in and you can choose from a few buckle options. Cheers, M

Showing again 1 AM EST, my DVR is set Cheers, M

don't like it personally, plus can't be relumed. Cheers, M

Yes, those will be fine. You need a 1.6 screwdriver to screw and unscrew the screws too. I don't think you need the tubes, but guess it could depend on the strap so better to have them and not need them. Cheers, M
-
Screws yes. Even if the watch came without a strap, the seller should have included 2 screws I would ask them about that. Tubes ; not neccessary. I don't use them and owe a few pair that collect dust and the exact watch. 24MM is the size you want. Either 24/24 or 24/22 will work fine. I bought many straps for my 253, and finally settled on a Greg Stevens Crazy Horse with black stitching. Posted a group shot on this forum, look at Family in the Sun in my collection area. Up close solo shot on RWI, under my collection. Cheers, M

Thanks Italiano, the ceramic bezel and the AR really does sparkle in the sunlight, definitely a keeper. Mezzanine ; I have seen some of your treasured pieces for sale and been very tempted ; it definitely requires buying more than you need to truly realize what you like. Same thing with straps too. I have gone through another handful watches myself that I have sold, but think I will keep the collection of reps to the max of 7 I have. Buy 1 , Sell 1 from now on. Mod the ones I like of course though. The Cousteau is not my favorite piece but I don't ever envision selling it. The Zigmeister did an amazing job luming this baby, even the orange hands are lumed up. Dial is not spotless. Cheers, M

Yes, Pam 253 Regetta Flyback (not really a flyback on the rep) 44MM This is my favorite Pam, it might not be the most accurate but I really love the dial. Thanks, M
-
Thanks Deltahoe, Yes, good call ; I like it but most will think it is too small for the watch. But it is a 24 MM gen croc strap on the 183 black seal. Cheers, M

Stevie7s, Thanks again for organizing this, I had a great time. Hours flew by chatting ; look forward to doing it again sometime again in '08! Amazing experience to see, touch, try on many watches that you see on the forum pictures all the time. Nice summary story and pics too, the restaurant andthe staff were very friendly to our table without a doubt. Cheers, M

has any RWG members ever imported goods .
rogerthat replied to 2005SUBMARINER's topic in The looney bin
I import a couple of products per year from China, why does method matter. Air shipment via FedEx, Seaport, etc... Tax rate for importing will depnd on what the product is, some products are taxed much different than others. For example this fall I shipped in 10,000 plastic puzzles that were taxed $0 becuase the US goverment has declared there is no local competition for this item so it is duty free. Could be 10%, 20%, all depends on what they have predetermined for the product and the product's materials. You should be able to find out the item code and get the information based on that from FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc... Cheers, M -
Would a Pam Spring Bar work? River still has those available. $20 for 2 pair, includes shipping. Cheers, M

Great work. This is a must modifcation for any owners of the Slevin or CD 2006 model. I have a CD 2006 in your hands now and couldn't be more excited to see the outcome!!! Cheers, M

Looks fantastic! Does it have a relume in the after picture, the lume looks a different color in the shots. Cheers, M

Maybe the seconds just started back up when you picked it up, otherwise sounds like a problem. But personally I have a bunch of A7750 and only get about 10-15 hours power reserve out of them, so that I think is what you can expect. Even a Swiss 7750 Gen I have only gets about 24 hours. Other experiences may vary, butI think the numbers above are average and 48 hours would be unusual. Other auto movements and manual wind movements may have much more power reserve than the7750 varieties. Cheers, M

Bad day at the PAM assembly factory...
rogerthat replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
Yes, thank you for letting us know. Very detailed shots, the alignment of the crown guard seems very obvious. Bad reports on new Ultimate Pam reps, what the f is going on? Cheers, M -
quick summary of the review: Josh's better but Ufanta maybe a better deal for the money. If you plan on having mods done, the Ufanta makes sense otherwise if you want out of the box go with Josh's (or many other options from our dealers) If you want to know more read the review. Cheers, M
