  1. Second the recommendation for phong Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Katt is in Minneapolis. He has actually refused to work on most of my watches...He does not work on 7750s, nor on anything else besides a new 2836/2824.
  3. hey guys, does anyone know of any watchsmith in the local Chicago area (or just US) that can service a 7750 movement? I've used Vac, Strodda, misiekped, but they seem too busy. Any other suggestions?
  4. Doesn't this price get close to phong prices?
  5. Did anyone end up trying this? I wonder if this is the latest incarnation of DW...
  6. Wow! Tell us more how you sourced these Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Was using tapatalk, links are now fixed
  8. Watch made it safely to its owner
  9. Yes, that is what I remembered! Ok, does anyone then know if a st19 will fit dw's cases made for 7750? I think they are a bit spacier than the ones for v72 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. So, is there any other movement that a dial made for v72 will fit (besides v72 or v23)? i think they probably fit the venus clones that cartels use but I am not 100 pct sure
  11. So, is there a movement that would fit in DW's cases that would also work with the vietname dials (which are for v72) that does not cost an arm and a leg? Would the venus clone in the current crop of cartel daytonas do it (with 6 fixed)
  12. Hmmm. Do you think there is enough meat on the best version for a scg?
  13. Hi guys, Does anyone know where to find a taller (H6) gmt wheel for the A2836 gmt movements? I need this to fit a gen plated dial in my 1655... Alternatively, has anyone modified the stock wheel? I heard of someone doing something like this in a 6542 build...
  14. Your build is fantastic! It's brother says hi!
  15. glad you feel better so, you prefer the gilt or the silver hands on it?

    MBW 6538

The alternative of course is for Bart to start mass-producing true gilt dials :-)

    MBW 6538

So, I am one of these that purchased one of the new MBW cases. My reasoning is that they take gen spec dial and are smaller than the HR/silix cases. I have already purchased a sweet 5510 dial from Tonny. The bezel and crown does look terrible so I plan to replace them with a Phong bezel and Athaya crown, respectively. The end result will be cheaper than Phong/MQ but better than HR/silix. Of course, there is the risk that these parts will not work together, but nothing ventured, nothing gained...will keep you guys posted
  18. If someone knows how to mod dials to achieve this tropic look, I would like to know...
  19. The case was sold to me as a modded DW case. But I don't see how it is possible to increase the diameter of the rehaut to fit a gen plexi. The new plexi is (supposedly) gen, and it did fit the rehaut of the case exactly, so they must have had the same ID as the stock plexi. Of course, the OD was different, so I had to shave the bezel down. The previous modder had put a smidgen of glue to secure the stock crystal in place. It is possible this took care of the amount of play between the new xtal and the rehaut. See also Lhooq's post here: https://rwg.cc/topic/123233-dw-7032-work-in-progress?page=3 I read somewhere that early DW cases had different dimensions than the later ones, but I cannot find that thread now. The other thing I did was freeze the bezel before installing it, that helped expand it a tiny bit
