  1. It always amazes me that people advertise gen watches (etc) on Ebay and post really crappy out of focus pictures and give crappy descriptions. ...And buyers still bid big money. (sometimes)...
  2. Is this a rep being masqueraded as a gen? The seller can't seem to prove it's genuine and he's not sure of the model number as he threw out the box and the packaging, Hmmmmmm... SMP Chrono - Gen or rep???
  3. Great comparison shots !! Couple of things I noticed: the pearl on the rep looks larger than the gen and the "flying B" engraved on the clasp is noticeably different on the rep. I'm sure "in the flesh" these minor flaws are virtually invisible. I have the grey dial on order - can't wait !!
  4. Hi DaneFTO !! Welcome to a fellow Brit - glad to have you on board
  5. I'm in full agreement, the number of reps in Ti has dwindled of late and the Avenger in SS is just not the same !!!
  6. This one is so limited, it can only be found on Ebay !! I certainly have never seen anything like this on the Omega website !!! I love the line in the auction that says "In prestige condition as it still has the protective skin on" (Sounds like a sausage !) SMP "Limited Edition" !
  7. That bracelet looks a litle tight - it's made your wrist go purple !!
  8. Here in the UK, "gas" IS cheaper - it's just petrol and diesel that are so f***ing expensive !!!!
  9. Yeah ! What DID happen to Vicky ??
  10. I'm a Fireman and my name's Fred........ ...actually, my name's NOT Fred but in the UK there's a kid's TV character called "Fireman Sam" but I preferred "Fred" to "Sam"... ...are you managing to keep up ....!?
  11. The James Bond SMP screensaver is great !
  12. It's strange how there are so many "horror stories" being banded about !! I have bought a number of watches from Paul and I've only had one that needed major surgery ! Paul is always prompt with his emails and his service is generally good. Where he lets himself down is his after sales service. Therefore, if you get a good watch from him - no problems, if it dies, be prepared for aggro ! Also, like many of the members of this board, I have a number of watches with the Asian 7750 (I don't know whether they are the old or new versions !). So far, I have found them to be extremely reliable and keep very good time. Funnily enough, I've had more trouble with Swiss ETA movements !!
  13. We won't mention TWP................... > > > > > > Who???
  14. At last, I've been waiting for someone to produce a watch that will let me go 3.9 km deep !!!!!!!!!!!
  15. OK, so I've been a Supporter of RWG since Nov 2006 and currently own around 25 reps - many of which have the Asian 7750 movement. However, I was wearing a couple of my 7750 powered reps last week (not at the same time !!) and noticed that when I stopped wearing them and the power reserve ran out, they had both stopped with the second hand at 57 seconds. Is this purely a coincidence or is there a technical/mechanical explanation? Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.
  16. He says the watch was left to him by "his dear departed Dad". His Dad never even got 'round to removing the clear plastic from the bracelet or the blue sticky tape from the clasp (which the reps always come with !!!).
  17. Gorgeous !! Definately my favourite Pam.
  18. @MM & Uncle Jay: Thanks for your kind sentiments. Being told your grandson "might not make it..." when he's only 4 days old concentrates the mind somewhat !! Happy Father's Day to all you fellow Dads out there !
  19. Father's day has a slight poignancy to it this year for me. My 18 year old daughter gave birth to a son on 22nd April (making me a VERY young Grandad !! ). Unfortunately, three days after he was born he was rushed into intensive care with infantile meningitis. He spent the first two weeks of his life on anti-biotics and anti-seizure drugs. He came home when he was three weeks old and we looked forward to him growing up happy and healthy. However, when he was only 5 weeks old, he was diagnosed with a SECOND bout of meningitis! He is now 7 weeks old and has just had his last injection of anti-biotics (although he will be on oral anti-biotics for the next few weeks. We hope we have seen the last of the nasty infection that had invaded his little body and we can only pray that he doesn't have too much in the way of future problems (physical or mental).
  20. I personally wouldn't trust any rep in anything more strenuous than a shower !! When I go diving, I often wear a rep (on the dive boat) and then swap to a "proper" gen dive watch - my Titanium Citizen Aquamount which has a built in dive computer to record my dive time, water temp., max depth etc... I can wear the Citizen with the confidence that it's not going to fail as soon as I drop below 3m !!
  21. I would like to see a straight comparison between the Pam 187 Sub 1000 and the Oris Carlos Coste as they are both similar in size and features.
  22. Now we're getting to the REAL truth !!
  23. In which case, there is no more (or less!) risk in sending a rep across EU country borders than sending one from or to the CONUS.
  24. This basically confirms what I thought ! I fully appreciate that it is etirely down to the seller to sell to whomever and wherever they want, however, in this game (buying and selling replica watches), there is ALWAYS a risk wherever you send any package. The sheer size of the US and the number of US based members on these forums will always allow sellers to specify "CONUS only" and still be guaranteed a good number of potential buyers. For the "rest of us" in the EU we will have to continue to ship our conterfeit goods across foreign borders and hope the customs are lenient !
