  1. I still like the watch but I completely agree with you about the bracelet.
  2. 24 years as a "wholetime" firefighter in the UK, (7 years as a Training Instructor - specialising in maritime firefighting).
  3. I am a self confessed "Rolexophobe". My first ever rep was a DD which I bought for
  4. @Scotty: I applaud you for your dogged determination ! Unfortunately, I tend to agree with mb1 that our watches have probably been sold on by now It would have been great to give Jakub a "wake up call" (via a PI or other means) but the cost seems to be prohibitive (I would have gladly stumped up $20 towards the effort). I think we have probably come to the end of the road in this sorry, cautionery tale and I am now resigned to the fact that I am $200 out of pocket and will never see my Tag Link Chrono again. The worst part is that it was a brand new watch and I sent it straight to J for AR - I never even got to wear it !!!!
  5. @condemore - I'm with you !! Hate Rolex - Love the Deep Sea !!! Fantastic pics !
  6. I've seen this before - it's very funny!! (didn't understand it all though - being a sasenach !! )
  7. Dizzy, can you tell me what camera it is so I know not to buy that one to take in the pool? !! BTW - hope it was insured !!
  8. In support of Shundi, here are some pics of my gen SMP (midsize) which I bought from Mickey Padge.
  9. I'm surprised noone else has mentioned this one but my most comfortable watch is my trusty SMP. My most uncomfortable watch was probably my Skyland purely down to it's size and weight!
  10. Welcome Hogan ! Nice to have another member from the EU - gotta keep them Yanks on their toes !! Only joking !! We're all one BIG happy family here at RWG !!
  11. There's cold and then there's f..f..f..f..f...................king cold !!!!!
  12. Yeah...... all of them ....... I think .....
  13. What's that in real money (Celsius)?
  14. I have recently come to the conclusion that if you have a rep that you intend to keep it is definately worth paying to get it serviced. Yes, I know it seems like a large expense on a watch that may have only cost $250 - $300 but I'm sure it is more cost effective than waiting for the movement to "die" and then having to go through the hassle (and expense) of replacing it, every 1 - 2 years. I am now getting my favourite watches properly serviced (by a time served, respectable watchmaker) and hope to enjoy wearing them for a few years to come.
  15. Nice review Shundi and some great photos ! I have the midsize version of the same watch, which I bought from Mickey Padge, (another esteemed RWGer), a while ago. You're absolutely right about the dial, it's amazing the way the colour changes, depending on the way the light hits it. Just out of interest, I wasn't overly keen on the Speedy bracelet so I managed to get a rep SMP bracelet off the 'Bay (as mine is the midesize, the lugs are 18mm and not 20mm). I now prefer to wear it on the "Bond" bracelet. I noticed another member selling the same watch (gen) in the Trade section recently and his was on the "Bond" bracelet - did this watch come on both types??? Wear it well !
  16. Happy New Year Hike !! My guess - the SD and the Pam 113
  17. Enjoy your party mate !! Happy New Year !!
  18. I have just sent my SMP Chrono (old version) to my friendly watchmaker to sort out. The same thing happened to mine, it doesn't seem to matter how carefully you screw the crown in, eventually the thread strips !! I think it's made of butter !! Just out of curiosity, do the new SMP Chronos have the same problem? (or is it still too early to know?).
