  1. Excellent ! Would that be for single or double sided?
  2. This is my 1000th post so I wanted to make it a good one - so here goes : Since the disappearance of (the infamous) K2222, there seems to be a lack of anyone offering an A/R service in the EU. I am investigating the possbility of offering this service to the members and I would like to get some feedback as to the interest this might generate. This service will be operated out of the UK using a UK based coating company. This possible service is in the embryo stages at the moment and I am currently trying to negotiate with a supplier to get the cost to a reasonable level. The A/R coating service I am hoping to offer will be carried out in "batches" and initially I will only be able to accept crystals which have already been removed from the watch, (however, if all goes well, I hope to offer a crystal "remove and replace" service if the the movement has already been removed from the case). At present, I am waiting for a couple of sample crystals to be returned so I can guage the quality and post some photos. Please respond within this thread if you think you might be interested and I would be grateful if you could give me an idea of how many crystals you would like coated in one go and whether you would want single or double sided A/R. Cheers, Prost, A la sante, Nastrovia, Sherefe !
  3. Having watched the video, I can't understand why anyone would want to buy an inaccurate (and expensive !) mecahnical watch !!
  4. Nice to have you on board ! (from a fellow Brit).
  5. Hmmmmm Sounds like he met a girl and fell for her 2 sisters as well !! (3 in a bed ..... )
  6. Just seen this 1960's gen Breit on Ebay ! It's not a model I have seen or heard of before but I think the watchmaker has done a great job of restoring it. See what you think: Breitling TopTime
  7. Sorry to chime in on this so late but the pearl on that so called "gen" does not look right to me... Oh, and the crystal looks as though there is no A/R whatsoever (I believe the gen Seamasters have single sided A/R).
  8. I actually thought this was a rep because the 45 on the bezel looks quite messy !!
  9. I have a white dialled B-1 rep if you are interested. As mentioned by others, it is not accurate but it might suffice for what you require. Both analogue and digital functions all work fine. Let me know, and I will post some more pics. Cheers
  10. This one just defies comment !!!! I love the comment in the sales pitch : "Not to be mistaken for cheaper replicas this is a quality watch" !! POS "Seamaster Chrono"
  11. Does anyone know if the new versions suffer the same problem as the old one - ie the crown/stem thread becoming stripped?
  12. A pity the poor sap that ends up with this monstrosity ! Seamaster ??
  13. I reported this on Sunday and it still sold .... for
  14. This one screams "FAKE" at me. Bidding is up to
  15. Gen ! The pearl pretty much gives it away...
  16. I bought the missus a gen Tag on Ebay. The woman selling it said that she'd been given it as a present 10 years ago and had never worn it! She had the original receipt, (which she sent me with the watch), for
  17. I'm a brain surgeon (damn, just realised my forum name gave me away !! )
  18. England is a beautiful CITY ????? I suppose, compared to the "CONUS" it is only a city !!! Anyway, welcome fugjostie, glad you (finally) decided to say Hi !! Actually, my little village of Hampshire was quite sunny today
  19. Thanks for all the great tips. Of course my way is not the only way and I may experiment with other types of oil, although, the silicone oil works best for me at the mo. Like FxrAndy, I also own an ultrasonic cleaner which I sometimes use on bracelets. I once made the mistake of putting an SMP bracelet in the bottom of the cleaner with the clasp directly in contact with the s.steel of the cleaner. After a few minutes of vigourous vibrating, the bracelet came out clean with a small mark etched into the clasp !! I suspect that the dirt that came out of the bracelet acted like sandpaper between the clasp and the bottom surface of the cleaner ! If you're gonna use an ultrasonic cleaner, make sure you use the basket or watch holder that came with it !!
  20. And there was me thinking that it was just the UK that had that problem !!
  21. As I said, I personally have not tried WD40 and I haven't tried silicone grease. The silicone (oil) spray is easier to apply and probably penetrates better than silicone grease.
